THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2024)

“For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek Me [inquire for and of me and require Me as you require food] and you shall live!

But seek not [the golden calf at] Bethel nor enter into [idolatrous] Gilgal, and pass not over to [the idols of] Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity and exile, and Bethel [house of God] shall become Beth-aven [house of vanity, emptiness, falsity, and futility] and come to nothing.

Seek the Lord [inquire for and of Him and require Him] and you shall live, lest He rush down like fire upon the house of Joseph [representing the ten tribes] and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel [the center of their idol hopes]. Amos 5:4-6 AMP

WELCOME TO THE 283RD DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.

It’s been 283 days since we stepped into this year. The faithfulness of the LORD has kept us each day. I believe it will still keep us, not just for the rest of the year, but the rest of our days.

One of the major things to do as a human being, especially if you want to spend eternity in peace, is to be careful what you seek while you are alive. Jesus made that clear when He said to two disciples of John who came to Him, “what do you seek?”

Everyone must answer the “what do you seek question,” early enough in life, because we are not forever. Wise people live their lives answering that question, sometimes on daily bases, because they know they are not forever.

If we spend our days seeking the wrong things of this earthly life, we will end up absorbing the dark things of life into our hearts, leading to a disastrous eternal ending. The reason for answering the “what do you seek” question, is because of what it leads to at the end of a man’s life.

Yes, we are not forever because a time will come when each and everyone of us will spend our last days on earth, and our souls will depart from our bodies to go to the Father to give account of all we seek while on this side of eternity. Indeed, during that moment of truth, it will be clear to all that answering the “what do you seek” question, is the most important thing in a man’s life.

There are people who live their days seeking God, but most of them seek the one and only true God following the pathways of false religion. You cannot seek the one and only true God following the paths of false religion and find Him.

There are also those who seek the mundane and how to acquire it in life. Some even seek God as a means of getting the mundane. They seek the mundane in the pretense of seeking God, I mean Christians, Muslims and all kinds of seekers of God.

SADLY, WHEN EVER PEOPLE SEEK MUNDANE THINGS IN THE PRETENSE OF SEEKING GOD, THEY SUFFER IN SPITE OF THEIR PRAYERS, GIVING OR FASTING!

If you seek to answer the “what do you seek” question properly, you will discover that the only people to seek is Jesus Christ, and the only purpose to live for is His will and plans for your life. You will discover how dangerous to ab a fake in these things.

You will live your days looking for that city which has foundation, whose maker and builder is God.

The Bible teaches that people who seek the mundane in any guise are Godless. You can’t be Godly and be a seeker of the mundane.
You see that even in the life of Abraham, who lived his days seeking for that city, a Heavenly destiny, whose maker and builder is God.

He lived His days in tents and not in well built houses even when he could afford it. He was God’s purpose driven, not mundane things driven.

The Christian lives of our Bible fathers followed the same pattern. It was not built around the mundane. If you look at their lives, you will realize that the worst way to lead your Christian life this end time, is to live it seeking the mundane pretending to be seeking the eternal or the divine.

You will never end in the Heaven they are right now.

Everyone who seeks God lived spiritually, and are currently living eternally in the glory of the Father. But everyone who seek the mundane pretending to be seeking God, died spiritually and are currently dead eternally.

The Bible teaches that those who seek the LORD, will live but those who do not seek Him will not!

No one need to pray that people who do not seek God should die. No! It’s not necessary, because people who do not seek God will definitely die, both spiritually and eternally. In fact, we need to pray that the live and seek God.

Not seeking God is like plants with no soil or water to survive. People who do not seek the LORD, are bound to die like such plants.

YES, THEIR MARRIAGES ARE BOUND TO COLLAPSE, BUSINESSES BOUND TO FAIL, AND ENEMIES BOUND TO PREVAIL AGAINST THEM.

Their ministries are bound to close down or be taken over by sorcery and divination. Their prophetic visions are bound to be blurring, making them depend on others for dream interpretation. Their economic lives are bound to experience dryness because GOD is the ideal RAIN that makes the economic life of the righteous to spring forth and thrive.

You see, God cannot manifest as RAIN on us until we seek HIM with the whole of our heart, not in empty prayer sessions, but in the presence of His grace and truth, pursuing an intimate knowledge of who He is.

The Bible says,

“Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth. Hosea 6:3 NKJV

If you look at the planet, you will discover that it is rain that makes things grow. If there are no rains, everything is bound to die. Again, God is like rain to us, because we are His plants. That is what makes seeking God a necessity not an option.

A generation that makes “seeking the true God” an Option, will be auctioned as food for devils in the spirit realm. When you seek God by pursuing His Knowledge, He is bound to come upon your life like the rain – like the latter and the former rain in the first month.

If you seek what look like Him and not really Him, your life will still be a misery in spite of your efforts. And if you try seeking God without having an encounter with Christ, you will find another god.

Seeking God begins with a true encounter with Jesus, and continues with multiple encounters with His Holy Spirit. The reason for all that is simple; Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God also. They are part of the trinity.

The question again is, “what do you seek?” What are you living your life seeking? The true answer cannot be found on your lips, it can only be found in your life. It can be found in your passions, drives, focus, what matters most to you in life, ambitions, pursuits, and even disappointments.

IT IS WHAT YOU SEEK THAT FALLS ON YOU, AND SHAPES YOUR LIFE POWERFULLY.

When your heart seeks after the one and only True God, He will not cease falling on your life like rain. Yes, people whose hearts seek God will not cease seeing His presence and glory falling upon them as rain.

God will be coming upon their lives like rain, manifest as eye opening and life-giving truths, backed by an amazing release of an uncommon level of His manifest presence. That is what happens to us in our church services.

Which is why we sing, “It is raining, all around me! I can feel it, the latter rain. Ride on Jesus! Give me more rain! Until I am wet, until I am soaked with the latter rain!” Hallelujah!

We will never stop running after this great God. No! We will not stop seeking Him because as we seek Him, we experience Him over and over again, coming upon us like rain; an experience we would not like to stop having. That is why we look forward to our Sunday services.

If you want to experience how God come upon people like rain, join this apostolic family. We are a New Breed without weeds. A royal priesthood! A Holy Nation! God’s own special people! We believe, we are ‘condemned’ to seek Him all our lives, and open portals of Heaven over Earth by doing so!

Ours is a Godly heritage because we have always seen the lines falling for us in pleasant places.

You can become part of this excellent army of the LORD anywhere in the world! The conditions are simple; become a seeker of God and not a seeker of mundane things. Once your heart aligns with God, you can become part of us, enjoying the most of Him wherever you live.

It’s a global army without boundaries or denominational walls!

It’s an army of God seekers running after Jesus every day to find God and have Him come upon them like rain. Yes, Christ in us is the hope of glory. But we also need Christ on us like rain to spring forth and thrive on the face of the earth.

When He comes upon your life like rain, visions will spring forth. You will begin to see where others just look. Healing will spring forth wherever you need it, be it in your health, economy, mind, habits, soul, or spirit.

No one recovers when God comes on him or her like rain. You must become part of the generation that seek Him with the same energy men use to seek or work for their daily bread! It will give answers to all your problems. That is the message of today’s devotional!

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!

“Come, and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.

After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight.

Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.” Hosea 6:1-3 NKJV
