TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 5th January 2025)
“Awake, awake! Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you.
Shake yourself from the dust, arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem; loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!” Isaiah 52:1-2 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 5TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY.
Well, for those who are yet to wake up, we have just eaten four days of the year 2025. Today is the fifth day, the first Sunday of the year. There are more Sundays to come, and before you know it, we will be in January 2026.
Moments are passing, days are rolling by. Whatever you have to do, please do it. Time is running out very fast, if we do not rise to do what we were created to do, we will become a wasted generation.
Today we want to refresh our minds on one major reason why people do not live their lives to fulfill what God created them to do; that reason is worry. We allow worries to fill our hearts, thereby hindering us.
There are no words to describe what the life of a Christian will become if he spends it worrying about his earthly needs. 2025 is one beautiful year that you should not destroy with such carnal worries. You have a Father in heaven who takes care of your needs.
Ordinarily, every Child of God malfunctions whenever he or she begins to worry about earthly needs. That was why our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ warned that we will add no value to our lives if we spend them worrying about anything.
You will never add any value to your life in 2025 if you spend your days worrying about anything. The book of Matthew puts it this way;
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body what you will put on. Is life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” Matthew 6:25,27 NKJV
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE ONE OF YOUR GUIDING LIGHTS THIS YEAR, BECAUSE WORRYING DOES NOT ADD TO YOU, IT RATHER DIMINISHES YOU.
Worrying is you sitting in the dark moments of your life developing negatives. It is cracking your head over things you cannot change. It is generating excruciating thoughts and feelings about painful things that are beyond you and loosing hope about life itself.
Do not do that in 2025; do not do that any other year. Do not try to squeeze answers from questions that lack human answers. Jesus said we should not do any of that because it will add nothing to us!
Worrying has never added to anyone on the face of the earth. It has only functioned as the birthplace of high blood pressure and all kinds of diseases and evil expectations. If you want to live a healthy life this year, then take worry out of the table.
Worrying has also functioned as the birthplace of sinful acts, bad decisions and dangerous turns in life. Any moment you sit down worrying, you are wasting away. Yes, you are wasting your time, talent and treasure. You are not putting them in good use. Do not do that this year. It will bring ruin.
If you spend your days in worry, you do not need a devil to attack you, you have attacked yourself. Satan loves seeing us worry because that is the time we make ourselves vulnerable to his deception and eventual baptism of foolishness.
Do not allow the enemy to baptize you with foolishness this year.
Worrying is the wrong foundation to stand on to do anything meaningful this year. Stand on the word, not on worry.
For instance, there are people who got married because they were worried about age, and etc. There are some who got married because of the worry of dying single. We do not get married because of any of that.
WE GET MARRIED TO FULFILL DIVINE AGENDA; TO FULFILL GOD’S WORD OVER OUR LIVES.
Anything we do out of worry, will give birth to a terrible Ishmael. The word Ishmeal is a metaphor for situations that will always be against you, maybe all your life!
In 2025, do not do anything out of worry. Do not open your life up to unnecessary battles due to carnal worries.
Most lives were brought under intense satanic attacks through worry! I have seen worry turn sane people into mentally deranged people. I have seen worry do things in the lives of people that even demons cannot do!
Worry has handed over beautiful women to terrible men, and promising young men to terrible women. Worrying can take a very destructive dimension. Especially, worrying about getting old and not getting married. It has served as a threshing floor of marital doom for many years.
Do not allow your heart to be plagued by carnal worries this year. If you do, you may wake up one morning to find yourself away from Christ. You might even wake up on the wrong side of the year, and begin to have your life fed on by sorrows.
The exploits of worry are endless. Worry has taken people from the narrow way that leads to life to the broad way that leads to death.
It will take more this year. So, do not be part of the list. Worry has been the bedrock of compromise in the life of many in Church, opening evil portals over people. Do not allow your year to be ruined by it.
Worry has forced people to do things that opened the portals of grave over them, eventually taking them to premature graves. It has placed people in dangerous panic modes.
When you are placed on the panic mode of worry, the death of your peace will be a matter of time. Worry has a way of killing anything that gives life to our mortal bodies. Do not allow it to kill anything in your life this year.
Worrying has blurred the life vision of many, put veils on minds, and taken people from destiny places to damnable places. It has taken people from destiny relationships to damnable relationships. It has served as the transport facility of evil for many years.
DO NOT ALLOW IT TO SERVE AS A TRANSPORT FACILITY OF EVIL IN YOUR LIFE THIS YEAR.
Live a life that will not allow worry take root in your life or impregnate you with dangerous doubts.
Spend each day of the year, shaking your mind free of carnal worries. Yes, live each day making sure no uncircumcised and unclean thing settle on your mind, that will make you worry. Let your mind rest on the LORD.
A major highlight in our devotional text says;
“For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you….shake yourself from the dust, arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem; loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!”
I believe God has spoken to someone. The year will be a year of victory for you. Do not make it a year of carnal worries. If you do, it will shut down everything God intends to do in your life.
Do not spend any day of the year recalling painful memories of things that may have happened; things you cannot change, and developing excruciating feelings about them. You will be chained to the oppressing demons that will come out of the underworld this year.
Do not forget, they love people who worry, so that they can manipulate their thoughts.
That is one major reason why God want you to spend this year worrying about nothing, and putting your mind on Him. His word says instead of worrying about a thing, we should pray about it. We should cast our care upon Him. That is what to do this year. Instead of worrying, pray.
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY.
“Rejoice in the LORD always. Again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to all men. The LORD is at hand.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.” Philippians 4:4-7 NKJV
