THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 23RD FEBRUARY 2025)

Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ Jeremiah 6:16 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 54TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

We bless the LORD GOD almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth, for giving us this day, another first day of the week. I believe we are all getting ready for a time with the LORD.

A time with the LORD is always a time for fellowship and receiving blessings from the LORD.

It is usually a time of knowing the ways of the LORD and the paths He wants us to follow. Yes, if you are in the right church, you will find a time with the LORD to be a time of standing in the ways of the word to see and ask for the old paths where the good way is, with the aim of walking in it.

One of the cries of the righteous this end times is this, “LORD, show me the destiny pathways you have prepared for me, show me the pathways to my blessings. Show me eternal paths to walk in and arrive at your desired place for my life. If this becomes your heart cry, there will never be a time in your life when the enemy will be able to make you cry.

God will always be with you making you wiser than your enemies. Our devotional text says.

Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ Jeremiah 6:16 NKJV

The first rest God gives our souls is rest from the practice and penalty of sin. The next is rest from the Satanic or demonic.

Are you troubled in your ministry, health, finances, family or marital life? What area of your life is crying for rest? You will never find rest in that area until you learn how to stand in the word of the LORD to see and ask for the old paths where the good way is and walk in it.

A PEOPLE WHO WILL NOT SEEK THE OLD PATHS WHERE THE GOOD WAY IS, WILL NEVER FIND REST FOR THEIR SOULS.

The text again says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it, then you will find rest for your souls” The consequences of not doing this will be absence of rest.

The key words here are many. One of the major statements in the verse says “ask for old paths where the good way is and walk in it,” then we will find rest.” Hallelujah!

Old paths are the divine ways that our Biblical fathers followed in their walk with God, the divinely crafted routes of life people like Enoch, Methuselah, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Israel, etc. followed. These are the ways to ask the LORD to show you.

Since they could not be born again, the standards are different. The ways to ask are the divine routes the LORD created for them with divine attestation in the New Testament. Friend, the Christian life is full of divinely crafted routes for those who worship the LORD in spirit and in truth to follow.

Yes, the Christian life is full of prophetic pathways and directions.

It is full of routes, paths, or directions that leads to God’s predetermined destination for us. We can therefore not arrive at any thing God has destined for us without finding those routes.

Understand that whatever you desire that the LORD should do in your life, has routes buried in the present truth to follow to get there. Do not let anyone deceive you about that.

We are to live our days standing in the ways of God’s truth to see and ask for the routes that leads to His pre plan blessing or destination for our lives. If we do not sit in Churches where those routes are taught, we will never get to any blessing or predetermined destination of God for our life.

SATAN WILL PREFER PEOPLE WORSHIPING WHERE THEY WILL NEVER DISCOVER THOSE ROUTES.

He would prefer that people go to where they give them miracle mediums or relics, like what is today called living water, salt, unholy communion, stones, etc., so that they will never find those routes. He would prefer them taught about raising and silencing of altars, so that they will not find the routes.

He will prefer them to go to the mountains to pray than finding good churches where they can sit down and be taught until they find those routes. The vision he has for them is evil. He wants them lost because you will remain lost until you find the routes.

Yes, you will remain hopeless, in toil and pain in life until you find the routes.

Finding the routes is the reason God gave us pastors after His heart to fill us with knowledge and understanding. Yes, finding the routes is the reason He raised interpreters of His will and gave them people to teach and train.

Satan will prefer you having a dream interpreting preacher than one who interprets God’s word and will, because he knows we will never find these routes that helps us to find rest for our souls sitting under dream interpreters.

If you can find one given to you by the LORD to teach and guide you, you have found a treasure.

As we bring this to a close, understand that your desired destination could be divine health, a life partner, a financial raise, deliverance from satanic attacks, or even success in an area of life or ministry. God wants you to start asking Him for the path to take to get there. Enough of just asking Him to do it!

Understand that most things in God’s Kingdom only answer to walking in divine paths not just praying.

Divine paths are created by God’s footsteps. When you follow them, you are making His footsteps your pathways. If you make His footsteps your pathways you will find rest in any restive area of your life. God will restore favor to you, or to your life, family, ministry, or business.

May we never join the generation that will not desire to walk in the pathways of God. May the blessing of the LORD rest upon us as never before!!! Amen.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!!

Yes, the Lord will give what is good; and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him, and shall make His footsteps our pathway. Psalm 85:12-13 NKJV
