TODAY’S DEVOTION (Saturday 1st March 2025)
“I will punish you terribly, and you will be ruined. You will be struck with incurable diseases and with fever that leads to blindness and depression. Your enemies will eat the crops you plant,” Leviticus 26:16 CEV
WELCOME TO THE 60TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
The scripture above should not scare you. It is not a word of judgment sent to anyone. I need to start with that clarity because of the generation of believers we have today. It pleases the Spirit of Our Heavenly Father that we glean some truths from it because of the blessings He has prepared for us.
The Bible teaches that all scripture is given by the inspiration of the Almighty, and is profitable for doctrine, for reprove, for correction, and for righteousness or right standing with God. The scripture of our devotional text is inclusive. No matter how a scripture sounds, it holds an eternal capacity to profit us as children of God.
It profits us so that we might be equipped not just for good works but for any good thing God has decreed that we have in our lives.
It is a new month, another month that God will fill our lives with His mercies, goodness, and kindness as never before. We need all that to survive the seasons we find ourselves. It is a month the LORD has made. We are confident that we shall rejoice and be glad in it.
Since the beginning of the year, God’s grace has been giving us the gift of life, day after day and many of us already have stories of His mercies to tell.
I guess you also have some stories to tell. For some of us, it was like, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” There were afflictions and attacks, but the LORD came through for us. To Him belongs all the glory! Amen.
In our devotional today, the first day of the month, we will be looking at God’s plan for our health. Yes, for our physical health.
One of the blessings the LORD has prepared for us this month is the blessing of sound health. Our physical health is a major aspect of our lives that is always before the LORD to keep healthy.
Sometimes, we get married to one aspect of our lives and forget the others.
BUT GOD HAS BLESSINGS FOR EACH ASPECT OF OUR LIVES.
Maybe it is good to start this by refreshing our hearts with some insights into the mystery of the aspects of a man’s life.
There are seven aspects of life. The first is our spiritual life. It is the foundation and gravitational force of other aspects. Like the planet Pluto, and the gravitational influence it has on other planets, so is the spiritual aspect of our lives, it is one aspect that determines how other aspects turn out.
It has a major influence over every other aspect and determines how other aspects function. One of the major reasons is because that is the aspect that connects the source of life. It is designed to relate with where the realm where the human is designed to come from, the Spirit realm of God.
That is why if Satan want to shut down any aspect of our lives, he will begin by shutting down the spiritual aspect first. He will shut it down by disconnecting it from the realm of God’s active presence and connecting it to either the demonic, earthly pleasure, sinful desires, or mundane things.
He knows that if our spiritual lives are not healthy, no part of our lives will be healthy. Sadly, very few humans care about the health of their spiritual life, which is only possible when one gets filled with the Holy Spirit.
Whenever God want to heal, deliver, or restore us permanently, He will go after our spiritual lives to fix it first. The Bible is full of this pattern
To fix our financial lives for example, He will feed us with truths that will feed our spirits and take care of our financial lives. The same is applicable to our health lives. He will feed our spirits with Bible truths on our health to take care of the physiological aspect of our lives.
OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT TODAY SHOWS THAT THERE ARE CERTAIN SICKNESSES AND DISEASES THAT ARE INCURABLE.
Sadly, incurable diseases have become common nowadays. Most of them are of natural cause, while some are completely fruits of spiritual effects like curses, sin consequences etc. Naturally, when any part of our critical organs become damaged beyond repair due to a natural cause, it could lead to death. Only divine healing can save someone’s life at that point.
Incurable diseases can be of natural or supernatural cause. This is important and worthy of attention. When they are of supernatural cause they do not come from the natural realm. They come from the realm of the spirit; the very realm the spiritual aspects of our lives receive from, which is why they are very dangerous.
Our devotional text says,
“I will punish you terribly, and you will be ruined. You will be struck with incurable diseases and with fever that leads to blindness and depression”.
In the dispensation of the law, whenever the word of the LORD is not obeyed, it brings an instant curse on the people. Some of these curses come from the LORD who gave them the law to obey, and manifest as incurable diseases.
Some incurable diseases in those days came upon the people because they broke the law. However, that also confirms that certain diseases do not come from the natural plane of life. Neither are they caused by natural phenomena. They come from a spiritual realm.
You see, sometimes we are told to feed properly and observe health rules to stay healthy.
I have found people who do all that but still suffer from incurable diseases. When your spiritual life is not outsourcing its sustenance from the realm of God, it can outsource anything from the realm of darkness into your life, resulting in incurable diseases.
THE BIBLE SAYS, THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD HAS MADE ME, THE BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY GIVES ME LIFE.
If that is not the case with you, honestly, you will find a lot of bad things outsourced from the realm of darkness into your life via the spiritual aspect of your life. If the Spirit of the LORD is not supplying God’s grace, blessing, and eternal life into your spiritual life, your spiritual life will pick its supply from other realms and destroy the other aspects of your life.
A lot of people that are suffering from diseases, death, poverty, curses, spiritual attacks, backwardness, stagnancy and all forms of miseries, picked them from other realms. They might be called saved, but they picked them from other realms.
For some, their prayers seem not to be changing anything because no matter how much you pray for a change, if your spiritual life is still picking bad things from dark realms into your life, your life will remain the same despite your prayers.
A salvation that is not strengthened or kept healthy by a constant supply from the Holy Spirit, can be like no salvation at all. Your seemingly saved life will be no different from the lost souls around in everything.
If you are wondering why bad things happen to good people, or why some saved people suffer, despite their being faithful church goers, you have just found one reason. They do not live a Christian life that picks its spiritual resources from the Spirit of the LORD or breath of the Almighty. They live Christian lives that are just carnal and religious.
You can be saved and live a life of misery at the same time if your salvation is not healthy enough to have your spiritual life pick its daily supply from the Spirit of the LORD. Your spiritual life must be healthy enough to be picking its daily supply from the Holy Spirit for your Christian life to be glorious and prosperous.
STOP USING OIL, PRAYING WITH SALT, GOING TO MOUNTAINS TO PRAY, RAISING OR SILENCING ALTARS TO ACHIEVE PEACE AND PROSPERITY.
Peace and prosperity are products of constant supply of the Holy Spirit. The life of our Bible fathers teaches that if our spiritual lives receive supply from the realm of the Holy Spirit, things will be fine in our lives. There will be peace and prosperity. Even if challenges come, we will always come out victorious.
Let me close by stating some of the realms of darkness that many Christians pick their spiritual supply from despite going to church faithfully.
1. The realm of the flesh.
2. The realm of the corrupt world.
3. The realm of fallen angels.
4. The realm of the demonic and satanic.
Bible History shows how everyone who picked spiritual supplies from these realms ended. David was flying high until he picked up from one of these realms. The result was adultery with Beersheba. Samson was flying high until one of these realms outsourced things into his life. The result was not pleasant.
If we look back at health matters, you will discover that the same things happen. Once we have picked bad things from other realms, they enter our lives and results in incurable health challenges.
Our devotional text this morning confirms that proper feeding and sound medical care sometimes do not translate into good health. Some of the people I have been privileged to be used of God to minister His healing power to, are rich people who eat well and take care of themselves properly. But they still had the problems they had.
I believe we have been instructed this morning.
The dark realm is not a place to outsource things into your life. It is my prayer that God will use these truths to do something new in your life this month. That you will live each day of this month getting your Spiritual supply from the Holy Spirit. Amen and amen.
