THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 1st April 2025)

“But Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? Matthew 12:25-26 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 91ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

Today is the beginning of another set of days from the LORD. We bless our LORD and savior Jesus Christ for keeping us in the first three sets of days in 2025: the 31 days of January, the 28 days of February, and the 31 days of March.

Traditionally, this is our Passover month. In other words, this is a month that has a week set aside by the Christian community to remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is Easter or what we call Passover that makes Aprils special.

Though some Easter or Passover holidays do not fall in April but March, it is this Christian holiday that make the season of the year special.

Today is April first, it reminds me of some pranks we use to play with the first day of the month of April as kids; those who fell into our pranks were called “April Fools.” I hope you will not be an April fool this month.

I guess that is why God will have us share on divine wisdom today.
Lack of divine wisdom has been the greatest undoing of humanity despite the so much knowledge in the world today, even as the internet testifies. The reason is because there is so much knowledge but little wisdom from above.

Friend, it’s important that we use this month to seek the LORD for Wisdom.

People give up in life when there is no knowledge to apply to a problem they may be facing. Wisdom is the application of knowledge to a problem one might be facing. It is bringing knowledge side by side ignorance and applying it to what you might be going through.

When someone says, “use your head” he is saying apply wisdom to the situation. Not just any wisdom, but divine wisdom.

DIVINE WISDOM DEALS WITH ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS

Foundationally, all humanity’s problems begin from the spirit realm. For instance, Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden. It was not a physical thing, but a spiritual fall with a physical effect. He fell in the realm of the spirit and that resulted in all the problems we have in the physical realm today because mankind was inside him.

Adam’s fall and other portions of the Bible teaches us that the spiritual was designed to be the birthplace of the natural. This is where the superiority of divine wisdom comes in. Divine wisdom deals with whatever emanates from the spiritual or natural realm.

That is why it is effective. It has two aspects which we will be looking into shortly.

To start with, it is important to note that what happens in the spiritual world determines what happens in the natural world. In other words, what happens in the spiritual shade of life determines what happens in the physical. That is why you must understand the two aspects of divine wisdom, and the two shades of life they take care of.

There is divine wisdom for dealing with things objectively, which is the natural shade of life. It is the wisdom for handling practical problems.

There is also divine wisdom for dealing with things subjectively, that is the wisdom for dealing with spiritual problems. With practical wisdom from God we deal with the natural objectively, and with spiritual wisdom from God we deal with the spiritual subjectively. I hope you understand me.

Since the spiritual is the birthplace of the natural, I want you to understand that the application of God’s wisdom in solving spiritual problem is one of the keys that will help you this new month.

OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT TODAY HOLDS ONE OF THE MOST ANCIENT WISDOMS OF GOD FOR DEALING WITH SPIRITUAL PROBLEMS.

A major highlight from the text says,

“If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?” Now we all know that the kingdom of Satan is not divided against itself. So, when we look at the text therefore, we can conclude that “Satan cannot cast out Satan.”

In dealing with spiritual problems therefore, we must understand this wisdom from the Ancient of Days Himself.

Let me share with you a bit about spiritual problems. All spiritual problems are traceable to Satan himself. Even when the hand of a man is involved, he is the power behind that hand. That is why I tell us to try not to hate people he moves against us. Though not easy, we must understand the warfare and still respond to them in love.

Satan is responsible for that marriage that is crumbling. He is responsible for that health that is going down. He is responsible for that ministry that is under attack. He is responsible for that poverty, that loss of Job, that loss of peace. He is responsible for all evil. The Bible made this clear when it says,

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV

Except to execute correctional judgment, God is not usually the author of crisis. Satan is the source of all evil. I think even a Child knows that. In dealing with spiritual problems therefore, you must learn to cast out Satan because when he leaves, all his works leaves with him.

The word “Satan” is not actually a name. It is a title. It means “opponent.”

It was a title given to the fallen angel Lucifer who fell from glory and became the major opponent of God’s will, ways, and word. That was why when Peter opposed Jesus and tried to discourage him from going to the cross to die for us, (obviously because he was ignorant) Jesus called him “Satan” (or opponent).

BUT THE ANCIENT WISDOM WE ARE UNCOVERING TODAY SAYS “SATAN CANNOT CAST OUT SATAN.”

That means if you are opposing God’s will, word, or way in any way, you will lack the power to deal with Satan.

Since, he is an opponent of God’s will, word, and ways by nature, if we are not in synchronicity with God’s will, word or way in any way, we will be operating at the same plane with him. And on that plane, “Satan cannot cast out Satan.” The most effective way to deal with the devil therefore is to be submissive and obedient to God’s will, ways, and word!

The Bible says,

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:7-8 NKJV

I believe the message of today’s devotional is clear. The ancient wisdom for dealing with all spiritual problems has been uncovered. The wisdom is simple; just obey God and walk in His will! People who are submissive to God will obey Him.

When you walk in obedience, you walk in synchronicity. When you are synchronized, the devil will flee from you.

The Bible says he is going about looking for whom to devour because he cannot devour everybody. If you are one of those breeds who obey God, the devil cannot devour you. So, make the month of April the month of walking in divine wisdom, and one of the dimensions of wisdom to walk in is the wisdom of being Submissive to God’s will, God’s way, and God’s word.

If you do, the blessing of the LORD that makes rich and adds no sorrow will be your portion. Happy new month in Jesus precious name. May none of us be given to the will of our enemies this month! Amen.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURAL PASSAGE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY;

“Come now, and let us reason together, “Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 1:18-20 NKJV
