TODAY’S DEVOTION (Saturday 5th April 2025)
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” Psalms 23:1-3 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 95TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
Today is the first Saturday of this month – our Passover month. As we get our hearts ready to remember the day the LORD Passed us from death to life, by taking our place on the Cross, let us also think about the fruits of the redemptive sacrifice.
Yesterday’s devotion was all about fruit.
The Holy Spirit stirred our minds to wake up to righteousness. Righteousness is one big redemption fruit that should grow out of our lives. I want to urge us to go back to that devotional and read. I almost reposted it as today’s devotional because of its weight.
Maybe I will do that on Monday morning.
The Holy Spirit was given to us to enable us to bear this one big fruit of redemption, the fruit of not living a life of sin after salvation. Like I stated the other day, God is sick and tired of sinner’s prayers, now He wants sinner’s repentance.
So many meetings and churches are full of sinner’s prayers but no sinner’s repentance. It has become an eternal curse in the lives of many, promoting all kinds of psychological salvations. It is my prayer that we all yield to the Holy Spirit to produce what Jesus has finished on the Cross in our lives.
Today we will be looking at some other forms of heavenly wisdom. The Bible says wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of our times and the strength of our salvation. We began this month with insights into the power of Heavenly Wisdom.
One of the aspects of Heavenly wisdom we must study is the wisdom of His death on the Cross, and what fruit we should allow instead of hindering the Holy Spirit from producing in our lives. It is Heavenly wisdom to sit to check all that!
THE BIBLE AND THE HOLY SPIRIT ARE THERE TO GUIDE US INTO THAT TRUTH.
We have shared in our previous devotionals that divine wisdom is the missing ingredient in the lives of so many today. Lack of divine wisdom has caused us so much as human beings. God never created us to lead our lives with our finite minds. God created us to live our lives using His infinite mind.
By reason of redemption, that mind is available to us. Understand that we are infinite beings, living in mortal bodies, that need God’s infinite wisdom to live on this fallen earth.
There is an aspect of Heavenly wisdom that we need to refresh our minds with. Here is the wisdom; God is in control, but He is not in total control of everything. He is in sovereign control but not in total control. I want to refresh our minds on this ancient wisdom of the just. You may be surprised but that is a Bible truth.
You see, long before the fall of man, God delegated some controls to mankind at creation. Even after the fall He did not take it back.
He is therefore not in total control of everything. He is only in sovereign control. He placed us in delegated control of some of His authority and creation, so that we can manage our affairs and come up with determined or intentional results.
This means that some of the many things we ask God to do for us are not under His authority to do. They are in our authority. If we keep waiting for Him to do them, we will die waiting.
Every one of us must understand that the delegated control of the earth is under us, mankind. How we use it is up to us.
The delegated control over our lives is in our hands. How things turn out depends on us. Most of us are destroyed because of how we use our delegated control. We use it according to our foolishness instead of according to God’s ancient wisdom contained in scriptures.
Let me reiterate again that God delegated some of His control of the earth to man to manage. Mankind was created to be and do on earth as He is and does In Heaven. But we are to do that under the supervision of the Holy Spirit.
THAT IS WHY ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE DEEPLY INFLUENCED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT SUCCEED ON EARTH.
They alone prevail over their enemies; they prevail over the cost of living on an accursed earth. Yes, the rule over principalities, over any evil powers, and over spiritual wickedness in high places. They decree things that come to pass and sometimes exercise rule over the elements.
The reason for all that is because they are allowing the Holy Spirit to influence how they use the authority God has delegated to them. If we allow the Holy Spirit to influence how we use our authority, our lives will be better.
If we allow the Holy Spirit to influence how we use our authority to get and stay married, our authority to survive, our authority to do anything on earth, our lives will be great. We will be guided by His wisdom and things will be better.
The earth will never bless anyone who lives with the wisdom of their finite minds. It will only bless those who live by the wisdom of the infinite mind of God’s Holy Spirit. We will have to use His mind that is written in scriptures and creation to stay married, run our economic lives, get the riches we need to do things for God and our families, and do whatever we need to do.
If you get married but do not use the infinite mind of the Holy Spirit to stay married, you may lose your marriage. If you come to where riches are and you do not use the infinite mind of the Holy Spirit to stay there, you will not last long there. The Bible calls the use of our finite minds in running our lives foolishness.
Divine wisdom or the infinite mind of the Holy Spirit is the instrument for managing delegated control. Yes, Heavenly wisdom or the infinite mind of the Holy Spirit is the instrument to use managing your life and your relationship with those God may have placed under your care and concern.
If it is not there, life will be full of troubles and all kinds of hiccups. If it is not there, sorrow will be there. If it is not there, misery will be there. If it is not there, strife and sadness will be there. If it is not there, poverty, lack and scarcity will be there.
IF IT IS NOT THERE, THE DELEGATED CONTROL GOD GAVE YOU WILL BECOME A CURSE IN YOUR LIFE.
Sadly, if how you use the delegated control God gave man is the reason for your troubles, there will be no end to your pains on earth. There will be no end to adversity, backwardness, financial hardship, and all forms of perils. That brings us to the place and power of prayer in helping us out of all these.
To start with, praying under the supervision of the Holy Spirit, is one way we submit our delegated control to God to use in making our lives better. There are certain prayers that are God’s way of asking us to permit Him to work in our lives. They are called authoritative prayers.
They are prayers you pray under the propelling force of the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Wisdom), and they bring amazing results to your life. That is why you find People whose prayer lives are govern by the Holy Spirit, the infinite mind of God, getting amazing results through prayer.
The truth is any prayer you allow the Holy Spirit to influence, govern and administer, will change your life significantly.
Such prayers are not done with our finite minds, they are done with the infinite mind of the Godhead. Now, apart from Holy Spirit influence prayers, there is also what I call “the Holy Spirit Influence decision.” Another word for it is divine direction. It is through divine direction we use delegated control effectively.
Yes, it was through that many Bible men and women got ahead in life. You find them enjoying protection, economic prosperity, and peace because they subjected their decisions to the influence of the Holy Spirit. They, by doing so, made the LORD their shepherd and it helped in putting all the nonsense life threw at them out of their lives.
They put out shame, defeat, slavery, all forms of bondages and whatever make life a pain out of their lives. Divine direction is one of the many ways to use delegated authority.
IF YOU ARE DIVINELY DIRECTED, YOU WILL NOT BE DESTROYED. IF YOU ARE DIVINELY DIRECTED, YOU WILL NOT FAIL.
If you are divinely directed on how to use God’s delegated control given to you to manage your life, you will run the race of life successfully and see great blessings overtaking you at every season and turn of life. Our devotional text this morning is a common Psalm that many in the Christian faith recite of by head. It says,
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake”
This psalm underscores the importance of living a life that is directed by the LORD, a life run by the infinite mind of the Holy Spirit. If the LORD is the one leading you in life, you will never lack (want). That alone tells us why some Christians are poor; especially those who claim to be hearing from God.
You cannot be hearing from God and be forever poor in life. He will take you from not enough, through just enough and bring you to more than enough overtime. The word says, “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want (or lack).”
If the Spirit of Jesus is truly who you are hearing from, except you are impatient, carnal, rebellious or ignorant, poverty will not be part of your Christian faith. One direction the LORD gave to Peter in Luke chapter 5, turned his business around. The true presence of God will never meet you in toiling and leave you there without directing you on what to do, especially if you ask.
God will always give you one direction, like He did to Peter. He will lead you to do things that will break any economic siege in your life and fill it with prosperity.
Child of God, it is a new month, and we are beginning a fresh week tomorrow. There are blessings awaiting you this month.
One instruction from God is all you need to break into them. May you bend your spiritual ears through prayers and fasting to pick it. May your heart not lack divine direction this month. May the LORD lead you to green pastures. Amen and amen!!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.”
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalms 23:4-6 NKJV
