THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 8th April 2025)

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 KJV

WELCOME TO THE 98th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

We have indeed seen great things in these 98 days that the LORD has enabled us to stay alive. God’s word certainly does not fail. No force in Heaven or on earth can make it fail.

The reason for that is simple – God’s word has an inbuilt performance power. It has the capacity to fulfill itself. That is why you save a lot of energy if you choose to sail on the wings of God’s word. He declared saying:

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

So shall my word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11 NKJV

When the word of the LORD leaves the throne room to our hearts, the first thing it does is to water it. It waters our hearts with the presence of God it comes with. If our hearts are humble and contrite, the moisture of God’s presence will rest on it and make the word we heard to bring forth and bud in our spirits.

When it buds in our spirit, it will produce in our lives – giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater. In other words, the presence of God it comes with will bring the word to pass in our lives. Creation itself is sustained by the word of God’s power. It is therefore important that if we want to be sustained by GOD’s power, we don’t take His word for granted!

That was why the LORD spoke to us yesterday about feeding our hearts with His word and living by it instead of living by our feelings. It shows us that for us to conquer low moments, we must learn to stockpile our hearts with the word. The Bible says, let the word of God dwell richly in you.

HIS WORD HAS INHERENT ENERGY TO RELEASE INTO OUR LIVES IF WE DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

In fact, the word of the LORD is for our hearts. God designed it to be the secret of amazing strength in the lives of His Kingdom citizens. It has the capacity to take you from sickness to health, from fear to faith, and from spiritual blindness to spiritual sight. It has all it takes to create and recreate, build and plant, defend and distinguish etc.

That is why He said, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. Ignoring the word or not making it your source of strength, is the reason for not having the amazing strength God designed His word to give us, as believers.

Satan will always distract us from giving the word of the LORD it’s rightful place in our lives. He knows he can only defeat us if our hearts are wordless.

If you want your world to be better than it is now, go for the word. It holds the foundation of everything. Nothing good happens for too long if it is absent in people’s hearts. If the word is absent in a marriage, that marriage is gone. If it is absent in an economic life, that life is gone.

If it is absent in your health life, your health will be gone. If it is absent in your spiritual life, sin will become your companion.

You will be living in it and excusing yourself. You will fall into what the Bible calls, the deception of sin. No matter how rich you are if GOD’s word is not at the center of it all, you are poor in disguise. Without the word of GOD your world will fall apart. It is that powerful!

If you put a man who is sold out to the word in an Island, and give him sufficient time, he will fill it with things that never existed there before through the power of GOD’s word. It creates things out of nothing. It is our tool for outsourcing Heaven to the earth.

Go for the word and not the prophecies of prophets.

Sometime the prophet’s prophesy to market themselves to you and keep you far from the word of the LORD (the Holy scriptures). If the word of the LORD is not in our hearts and mouths, we will pay dearly for its absence on the day of trouble, irrespective of the prophecies we might be receiving from people.

THERE WILL BE NOTHING FLOWING OUT OF OUR SPIRITS TO STOP THE ENEMY.

The word has what it takes to discern the thoughts and intents of men’s hearts to do God’s blessed will. That is why we speak GOD’s living word to men’s heart so they can do GOD’s will. The Bible says,

“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 AMP

What a scripture and a version. Please go over it again!

The living word of GOD truly has what it takes to expose, sift, analyze and judge the very thoughts and purposes of a man’s heart. We can also see clearly that the word of the LORD does not just take care of the spiritual. It also takes care of the natural.

It takes care of the breath of our lives by infusing it with the divine strength it needs to keep us alive, especially in sickness or under attack. That was why stockpiling the heart with the WORD saved Paul from many death experiences.

Over the centuries, it has saved people from premature death and given others strength to mock at fear and resist the enemy even at the cost of their lives. The Bible says:

“it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature],”

If you want God to work on you so He can work through you, then go for His word. His words contain the inherent power and revelation that can be of great help to you. Our devotional text today is one of the most powerful statements to have ever proceeded from the mouth of God through His holy Apostle – Paul.

IT HOLDS SO MUCH REVELATION THAT WE CANNOT UNPACKED IN A DEVOTIONAL LIKE THIS.

From the devotional text, you will understand that one of the major things God wants us to keep filling our days with, is “doing well” or in simple terms, good deeds. In other word, He wants us to spend our days putting smiles on our fellow human beings or making the world a bit easier for those He allows us to cross paths with. That is one of the things God does not want us to grow weary of doing.

The Bible is full of things GOD wants us to grow weary in doing and things He does not want us to grow weary in doing. He wants us to grow weary doing evil and not grow weary doing good!

Everything that fills a man’s life with an absence of God’s manifest presence and sends the Holy Spirit far from him is one of those things that Heaven wants us to grow weary doing.

In fact, God wants us to grow weary doing things that leaves our lives vulnerable to the evil one. He wants us to be useful in the lives of others according to His plans for our lives. Sadly, many do not know that being useful to people around us is very important in life.

You will fill your life with darkness if you are not useful to people GOD placed in your life. God wants us to be assets and not liabilities. He wants us to be valuable to others, not a pain in their neck.

The difference between poverty and prosperity lies in a man’s value to men and to God. If your life is adding value to God’s plans and purposes and those around you, your prosperity will not be a matter of if but a matter of when.

Our devotional scripture today says, “you will reap if you faint not.”

However, you will not reap if you are adding value to the wrong people. In fact, adding value to the wrong people will make you reap sorrow. You must allow the LORD to show you the right people to add value to their lives. The good news is you don’t have to be rich to add value to people’s lives.

YOU ONLY NEED TO BE KIND.

You can begin a fresh season of filling your day with good deeds today, by deciding to be useful to God and to the right people. Adding value to the wrong people will make you faint and lose heart, the wrong people will always return evil for good, making you hate the principle of adding value to others.

Make up your mind to add value, spiritual or natural, to the life of every right person you come across; from your spouse to your kids, to your pastor, to your Church, to your nation, to your neighbors, to those you know and those you may not know.

Let no one who touches you go back the same. Let something positive be left in their lives.

Leave a deposit of value in the lives that will cross your path this week. It could be a smile, a word of kindness or encouragement. It could be an appreciation. It could be a moment of prayer or preaching.

Declare the rest of your life a season of adding value to all the right people around you, and you will experience a great leap in life. Do something that will make someone have a reason to live. Do what Job did in his days. He lived a life that added value to all. Hence God did not allow his trial to consume him. Heaven gave him double for His trouble.

I believe the message of today is understood.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY

When the ear heard, then it blessed me, and when the eye saw, then it approved me; Because I delivered the poor who cried out, the fatherless and the one who had no helper. The blessing of a perishing man came upon me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. Job 29:11-13 NKJV
