TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 13th April 2025)
“But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Revelation 21:22-25 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 103RD DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
I can’t believe we have already seen over a hundred days of the 365 days of this year. If you are running with the LORD, you will sometimes get to a speed that will kill your awareness of how days are passing.
Since day one of this year, we have been running with the LORD. First, it was 40 days fast, now 21 days fast. After this, another race will come. It’s been very exciting running with this God this year. It was like yesterday that we all shouted a happy New Year and here we are today, a hundred and three days already.
God is indeed faithful, gracious and merciful. This glorious nature of His is responsible for where we are today.
With 262 more days to see, it can only be brighter and brighter if we keep following Jesus, the LIGHT of the world. The Bible indeed said anyone who follows Him will not walk in Darkness. Yes, the darkness of any year will not be our portion if we follow the LIGHT OF THE WORLD – Jesus Christ.
It says:
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12 NKJV
If you are walking in the darkness of a year, it’s a major sign that you are not following Jesus the light of the world. The Bible spoke about the darkness of an age. That tells us there is also darkness of a year.
2025 has its own darkness. But those who make Jesus the light of their world will not walk in it. We have not walked in the darkness of this year for 103 days because we made Jesus the light of our world!
IF WE CONTINUE TO DO THAT, WE WILL NOT SEE ANY DARKNESS AT ALL.
The darkness of an age or a year includes sicknesses from the pits of hell, sudden destruction, dangerous political and economic climatic conditions of a year, especially conditions that make people poorer or diseased, make them die or become morally bankrupt.
The darkness also includes all kinds of sin and evil that Satan spew into a year to kill, to steal and to destroy. These are the things that constitute the darkness of a year. But those who make Jesus the light of their world will never see any of the darkness.
Jesus says, “He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Understanding who you follow spiritually will determine where you walk physically. Also, who you follow will determine what follows you.
If evil or darkness follows you, or if you are walking in darkness, just check who you are following in life. It’s a major sign that you are not following Jesus. It is a sign that you have missed the light of the world, because Jesus is the true light that lightens men’s lives.
Jesus is the light that God designed to shine in every dark area of our lives. He is the light that shines on our bitterness and dissolves it out of our hearts.
He is the light that shines on hate and turns it into love for the unlovable. He is the light that shines on a sinful life and turns it into a holy life. He is the light that shines on an abandoned child, wife or husband and turn them into the most sought-after men and women.
He is the light that shines on our loneliness and makes the Holy Spirit a great companion. He is the light that shines on marital crises and eliminates the crisis, turning the sick and dying marriage into a glorious one.
Child of God, you do not need money, you only need someone who will keep bringing money to you or powering your life economically. That person is Jesus, the light of the world.
The Bible says His Holy Spirit is the Spirit that teaches us to profit in life. That is what makes Him the light that shines in our Hearts, to connect us to the hidden riches on earth.
IT SHINES EVERYWHERE WE TURN IT ON TO FIX OUR LIVES AND MAKE US GLORIOUS AGAIN.
It shines on our confusion and gives us direction to follow. It shines on our disappointment and lets us see the big picture – what Heaven can turn it into. It shines on our sicknesses and help us connect the Healing power of Christ.
It shines on the scars in our hearts and brings out a message that can redeem a dying world from damnation.
Jesus Christ is indeed the true light of the world; the only light that illuminates men. He does not illuminate houses, streets or Cities.
That is what electricity does. He illuminates people. That is why even if you are living in a dark place where there is no electricity, if you have Him in your heart as the light of your world, you are not in darkness. He is the true light that lightens every man that comes into the world – everyone who turns to Him.
Speaking about the mission of John the Baptist on earth and the difference between him and Christ, the Bible says:
“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:6-9 KJV
Let me reiterate again that who you follow in spirit and in truth will determine what follows you in the spirit realm, or manifest in your life in the physical realm. If you have not met Christ in spirit and in truth, even if you live under the brightest and most beautiful electrical lights on earth, you are still in darkness. Darkness will keep following you.
That is why you find people with a lot of adversity even when in prosperity.
You find even those with the brightest electricity having darkness in their lives. No electrical light is the true light because it just illuminates houses, streets etc. but cannot illuminate any man.
JESUS IS THE TRUE LIGHT THAT LIGHTENS OR ILLUMINATES MEN.
His light does not just expel sickness, sin, ignorance of God, poverty, hopelessness, sorrows etc. It also expels any other form of darkness that makes men miserable and devour-able when fully put to work.
That is why you will not walk in darkness if you walk in Him – the light of the world. The Bible says:
“He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1:2-5 NKJV
God’s prophet Malachi saw His true image in the Spirit realm at one time shinning in full strength; more than the Sun and called Him “the Sun of Righteousness.” Jesus is indeed the greatest illumination both in Heaven and on the earth.
The Book of Revelation made it clear that someday we will no longer need the Sun to illuminate our lives.
It tells us that there is an age coming when the world as we know it will be no more. The age will be ushered in by the appearing of Jesus to take the saints home. That is what the Bible says the true grace of God will make a truly redeemed man to look up to. It says:
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14 NKJV
MAYBE LET’S CONCLUDE THIS WORD WITH A FEW LINES ON THE COMING AGE AND THE END OF TIME.
True salvation experience will place you on the paths of light and urge you to look up to this coming age. If your salvation is not urging you to look up to this coming age, it is either the encounter is not real, or you lack the revelation of the ages to come.
The scriptures made it clear that there is an age coming when we will no longer need the present sun.
It says in the days of that age Jesus will manifest in full strength as the Sun of righteousness illuminating the entire creation of God from Jerusalem, where the center of the earth is. That brings us to our devotional text for today! John the revelator saw this coming age and wrote saying:
“But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Revelation 21:22-25 NKJV
I don’t know what you are looking up to as a Christian. What you look up to as a child of God determines the manifestation of God in your life. There is a generation that is looking up to this coming age. They are purifying themselves from anything sinful, satanic, or worldly and pressing into God to find a place there.
They are making use of God’s love in their lives to purify themselves. By God’s grace, I and they that the LORD have given me, we are part of this generation.
We don’t know in full what we shall be when we step out of this body in readiness to get there, because it has not yet been revealed. But one thing we know is this; we shall be like Him (Christ) when we step there.
That is the Hope the Holy Spirit has planted in our hearts. Hence helping us to purify ourselves just as He (Christ) is pure.
You can make use of these revelation truths to begin a fresh and sweeter walk with Jesus today. It’s never too late. You begin by making Him the light of your world. Then you grow by locating a church that will help you live that way until destiny is fulfilled. Amen!!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3 NKJV
