TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 10th May 2025)
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world.
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15-17 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 131st DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
We bless the LORD almighty for His glorious deeds in our lives and the lives of all He has blessed us with. It’s been a season of His grace, peace and mercies upon our lives. If it has not been God’s grace, we would not have enjoyed the pardon for repenting from sins, or the power to say yes to His will and ways.
His peace has kept us peaceful in a chaotic world and His mercies has withdrawn the consequences of our sins and given us sustenance even in the midst of nothing. Where there had been no man God has been our man. In a world of uncertainties God has been our sure foundation. Glory to His great name!
How else should we say thank you to this great GOD, is it by jumping and dancing with timbrels in our hands? Is it by screaming and telling everyone on the street what He has done for us?
That could be a good thing to do. But what is the best way to show gratitude to this wonderful and merciful creator of Heaven and earth, Jesus Christ the King of kings and LORD of lords?
The highest form of gratitude in the kingdom is to fear GOD, walk in obedience to His word and live a life of submission to His will.
That is what the scripture teaches. It’s not merely by singing or speaking. As good as those are, the fear of the LORD is the harvest God expects from us for every act of kindness He shows us.
So, if we sing anything or say anything to show gratitude to God and do not follow it up with a life of obedience and submission to divine will, especially walking in His fear, we are ungrateful to Him.
One of the major things GOD wants our generation to do (which every generation of believers did) is to love Him with the whole of our hearts, our souls and our might. It is to love not the world nor things that are in the world. The Bible made it clear that he is a jealous God.
IF WE SHIFT OUR LOVE FROM HIM TO THE WORLD OR THE THINGS IN THE WORLD, WE WILL LOSE HIS LOVE FOR US.
That brings us to our devotional text. It says:
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
If you look at this scripture, you will discover that we can lose God’s love for us if we start loving the world. We will not just lose His love; we will also lose everything in the end because we will pass away along with the world we loved.
One thing that will protect us from loving the world is revelation of truth. The cost of loving the world and the things in it is so heavy.
For example, if you are a preacher who love the world and the things that are in it, the Bible describes you as a well without the water of life, and a cloud carried by the tempest; the tempest of love for the mundane within you.
Sadly, these are the kind of preachers that most people sit under and come under their influence. The Bible says:
“These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
“For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.
For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.” 2 Peter 2:17-21 NKJV
HAVE YOU REALZE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES BORN AGAIN ARE NOT?
The reason for that is this; as soon as one gives his life to Christ, the next thing they should spend their days doing is schooling in the things of the God.
In other words, giving your life to Christ without spending the rest of your days schooling in His things will not do you any good.
You will return to your unsaved state.
However, no one can be schooled in the things of God sitting under preachers that the Bible describe as the wells without water and clouds driven by a tempest; mostly the internal tempest of the carnal desire to get all they can and can all they get.
The people will rather be school in the things of men, leading to a salvation that lack regeneration, and a faith that God has forgiven one’s sins without a life of repentance as proof.
Salvation without repentance is a delusion. You will be matching to hell with the Bible in your hands.
Sadly, that is the bane of many who call upon the name of the LORD in so many churches today. So many are having a Jesus on their lips that you can’t find in their moral lives. Many profess that they know Him by mouth while by their lifestyles they deny Him.
Very few know that the greatest danger on the face of the earth is not an airplane that has lost control and is heading to crash. That may not have an eternal consequence.
Yes, the greatest danger on the face of the earth is not a car driven without brakes, a devastating earthquake, or unending wars. The greatest danger on the face of the earth is not the most dreaded disease you can think of.
The greatest danger on the face of the earth is claiming that you are saved while by the fruits of your deeds you are not.
IT IS A DANGER WITH ETERNAL CONSEQUENCE.
Jesus said:
“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Luke 6:43-46 NKJV
Genuine salvation takes place on the inside and breaks forth to the outside. What has happened on the inside will find itself manifesting on the outside as Holy Spirit created good deeds. That is why the Bible says no one can say Jesus is LORD except by the Holy Spirit.
When genuine salvation takes place within us, our moral nature will change from being a bad tree to becoming a good tree, leading to calling Jesus “LORD, LORD,” and doing what He says.
But if a genuine salvation has not taken place, then you will not be able to do that. You will be calling Him “LORD, LORD,” and not be able to live the life He says we should live, a life of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. You will be suffering what the unsaved suffer; like curses in your father’s house, spiritual attacks, having unknown faces coming to sleep with you in the dream, etc.
For instance, many Christians who are seeing what happened to their parents or grandparents repeated in their lives are seeing them because they have not been translated from the kingdom of darkness where such things happen, to the Kingdom of light where they do not happen.
That is why you find them running after prophets and prophetesses who specialize in demonology instead of theology, as expected of a man or woman of God.
BEING TRANSLATED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT INTO THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT IS THE KEY TO NOT SEEING DEMONS OR THE DEMONIC IN YOUR LIFE.
Friend if there is something in your lineage that seems to be repeating itself in your life, you do not need a curse breaking service to come out of it.
Neither do you need to take a prophet or intercessor to your village to pray.
You do not need to give money to anyone. All you need to do is to experience genuine salvation and then live a life of learning the ways of the LORD, walking in His paths, and living a life that does not love the world or the things that are in the world.
If that software that makes men love the world and the things that are in the world is deleted from your spirit, and the power of the Holy Ghost kindled in your life, nothing your parents or entire lineage went through will be repeated in your life!
The fire of the Holy Ghost burns curses, and every form of evil inheritance. It keeps your life aflame and prevents any demon from perching in your life. It keeps all from the pit of hell far away from you and all from the gates of Heaven very close to you. That is why Satan would not let the Church to live the Christian life.
The Bible says, “all who live godly in this world will suffer persecution” so that they quit the godly life. Yes, the enemy will let people live the religious Christian life but not the Holy Ghost powered Christian life, where sin, Satan and the corrupt world will find no place in us.
Christianity is not a religion but the life of Christ in us, breaking forth and filling the space of our lives with righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
I have studied my life and that of others around me and come to realize that what makes household demons to repeat in a current generation what they did in a previous generation is the dust of sin, Satan and love for the evil and corrupt system of this world.
If we deal with those things, it will become impossible for those devils to find a common ground to repeat in our lives what they did in the lives of our fathers.
THAT IS THE BREAKTHROUGH KEY THAT VIRTUALLY ALL DELIVERANCE MINISTERS IN CHURCH TODAY DO NOT KNOW HENCE LEADING PEOPLE ASTRAY!
But the LORD has given us the key today. Time to use it against all the work of the enemy. Time to step out from falsehood and embrace the truth of the gospel. Yes, this is the time to come out of any form of unbiblical practices and embrace the tenants of the faith.
What is the message of our devotion this morning? The message is simple. God is saying to us if we will be free from every evil works, we must learn how not to love the world or the things in the world.
The things in the world are lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. If these things can be erased away from our lives, we will be free from generational curses, evil altars and all that make believers in Christ run after prophets and prophetesses.
We must become Christians indeed not Christians by religion.
Yes, we must have a Christian life that is highly inflammable in the Holy Ghost. It’s my prayer that God will use these words to enhance your peace in life and increase your dominion in the Spirit, in Jesus precious name, Amen!
