TODAY’S DEVOTION (Saturday 31st May 2025)
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.
“Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. WELCOME TO THE 151st DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
Today is the last day of the 5th month of our years of victory. It was a month that the enemy decided to take us out another time, but the LORD granted us victory over him and his works.
Today we celebrate God’s faithfulness, kindness, compassion and greatness. Who is like unto Him!! There is no one. He has been glorious in power and fearful in praise, doing all kinds of wonders in our lives. He has filled our hearts with Joy and our souls with gratitude. Even as we close the month and step into a new one, no matter what may come our way, we will remain grateful.
Today we want to look at an eschatological scripture. It is important that we not forget matters of our eternal destiny as we transit into a new month, the 6th month of the year.
People who fix their hearts on matters of eternal destiny will set their hearts on pilgrimage. Those who set their hearts on pilgrimage will touch the powers of the age to come. Those who touch the powers of the age to come will walk in God’s favor in this age; they will be able to turn every valley of weeping into pools of blessing.
May you be that person in Jesus precious name. Amen and amen!!!
In the eyes of Eschatology, two places we hold gospel meetings today as the body of Christ is either in the desert (under tents and camps) or in the inner rooms (conference rooms and Church buildings). Jesus said to us that in the last days acclaimed men and women of God will come to us saying “they are our messiahs, and that our destinies is in their hands, mouths, or prayers for us” so to speak.
Some of these dark preachers will even speak with audacity saying if we want to get married, succeed in life or ministry or in any other thing we may be doing, we must obey them, support their ministries, or even have sex with them. Yes, I have met those who had sex with preachers for deliverance.
OH YES, IT’S HAPPENING! THIS IS NOT A FALACY OR MOVIE SCRIPT.
Jesus also warned that if people point some ‘men of God’ to us saying “look, your messiah (a suppose anointed prophet or preacher) is in some tents and camp meetings” or “in some Church buildings and conference halls” we should not believe them. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered.
Friend, the apostolic need of the hour is the cultivation of hypersensitivity in the Spirit and impartation of deep discernment through sound prophetic and practical teachings. We are living in the last days. Our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, spoke of the horrors of the last days and warned us that deception – I mean hyper deception – will be the first horror of the last days.
It will be a very horror that will usher in other horrors, and it’s happening already. From suppose men and women of God deceiving people to have illicit sex with them as a deliverance ritual, to financial exploitation through the mutilation of the doctrine of giving called “sowing seeds,” to the use of sand, mustard seeds, water, incense, candles etc. to invoke miracles, the list is endless.
From the day Adam lost the likeness of God in the garden till date, mankind has been battling with the consequences of spiritual blindness and lack of discernment, making us cheap preys to terrible predators in the spirit and human realms.
Part of the likeness of God is spiritual sensitivity and deep discernment – which can be simply defined as the ability to see through the eyes of God. Anyone who sees through the eyes of GOD will never fall into a ditch! Oh yes, you will never fall into financial, academic or marital ditch.
For instance, not seeing things through the eyes of God is the reason many do not see the spiritual side of who they are about marrying before marrying them, consequently losing their marriages shortly after marriage.
IT’S THE REASON WE CALL THE UNCLEAN CLEAN AND THE UNHOLY HOLY.
It’s the reason we call abominations weaknesses and accept devils and mediums as prophets of God. If there is anything we need at this very hour, it is hyper spiritual sensitivity and deep discernment. That is the only way we can deal with the scourge of hyper deception among us today.
The Bible teaches that it will only happen when we make the Spirit of God our guide and the word of God a daily lamp and light unto our feet. David says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalms 119:105 NKJV). Jesus also said …“I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life” (John 8:12 AMP).
If a Christian life is not guided day by day by a word of truth and righteousness from the Light of the word, it will be full of darkness. The spiritual eyes will go blind making the person vulnerable to deception.
The world is full of deception, moral and spiritual darkness. Isaiah calls it gross darkness. Only a daily scriptural light from God will see us through this hour. That is why God has made His Rhema Word our daily spiritual meal.
Man was not made to live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God on daily bases. If you fill your stomach with bread daily but do not fill your spirit with sufficient light from God daily, you will not live the life God designed that you live. Consequently, not becoming what He created you to become.
Lack or absence of daily sufficient light from Jesus, the Light of the world, is the reason for bad marital, spiritual, financial and even career decisions. Make the month of June your month of a firm decision not to walk in any form of spiritual darkness. There is a prophecy about the possible deception of the elects in scriptures.
MAKE IT A MONTH OF WAR AGAINST ALL FORMS OF DECEPTION.
Until you are sure is the LORD, do not commit. That should be the new you in the new month beginning tomorrow. In our devotional today, we will be uncovering explicitly but briefly what Jesus said about the possible deception of the elect. A major highlight in our devotional text says:
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.
A wise man once said, “To be forewarned is to be forearmed.”
Divine warnings are God’s way of arming us before the main days. That is why Satan hates people being warned. Today He even sways some preachers to give a bad name to divine warnings simply to dissuade men from heeding them.
But no one can take away “the stewardship of divine warnings” from genuine apostolic and prophetic ministries.
The key words in our scriptural highlight today are the words to deceive, if possible, even the elect. In some of our major meetings around Africa, I have shared the difference between signs, wonders and Miracles.
Yes, there is a difference between signs wonders and miracles. For instance, Moses did not step into Egypt with just miracles but with great signs and wonders. The primary assignment was to break the backbone of pharaoh and reveal the almighty God to the ancient nations through supernatural things that the gods of the nations have never done.
No god of any nation has ever smashed other gods, brought lies, frogs and 72 hours of darkness like the God Moses brought. No one has ever parted even a stream come to talk of the Red Sea. So, when the nations saw and heard those signs and wonders, they knew for the first time there was GOD that was higher than the gods they grew up to know.
THE REVELATION OF THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD TO THE NATIONS WAS THE PURPOSE OF THE MINISTRY OF MOSES.
The role of signs and wonders therefore, either in the kingdom of light or darkness, is to speak to a people and compel them, through supernatural amazements, to submit to either the almighty God or the many lesser gods in the spirit realm. That is why you should not live a Christian life that follow signs and wonders but the voice of the LORD for your life.
Prior to the coming of Moses, the lesser gods had used lesser signs and wonders to steal worship from the people and keep them submissive.
In other words, Satan can use signs and wonders as a tool, to steal your worship, kill your holiness, and destroy your desire to keep your feet on the narrow way that leads to life. Just as signs and wonders are the redemptive tools of God so are signs and wonder the operational tools of Satan. Don’t forget, he has no capacity to create. He only uses what has been created.
So, Jesus warned us that he will use the same tool to deceive, if possible, even the elects in our days.
That is where the issue of hyper deception must be understood! God’s way of dealing with hyper deception is through the cultivation of hyper Spiritual sensitivity in the lives of His sons and daughters, and impartation of deep discernment into our hearts through sound teachings.
The Prophet Ezekiel gave us a definition of what deep discernment is. He defined it as the ability to discern between the holy and the unholy. He also defined hypersensitivity in the spirit as the ability to spot the difference between two things that look very alike.
That is why one of the primary responsibilities of genuine apostolic and prophetic ministries is to “Teach God’s people the difference between the holy and the unholy and cause them to discern between the clean and unclean” (Ezekiel 44:23). That makes genuine apostolic and prophetic centers (the present-day sons of Issachar) the ideal spiritual place to locate and plant yourself in.
If you love your soul, it is important that you stop jumping from one meeting to another, one church to another and all that. It is important that you find one man of God with what you need in your walk with God and be committed to the mantle.
In these days of hyper deception, if you do not locate one assembly of God’s people that is equipped with the grace and revelation of the times, and the apostolic knowledge of what Israel ought to do and plant yourself there; if you keep running from place to place, going wherever someone say to you “look the messiah is coming to this Church or that tent or this camp meeting” you will lose.
That is the message of today’s devotional. May the month of June be one of the best months of your life. May the LORD keep you for Himself and cover you with His mercies and goodness. May He feed you from the fountains of His faithfulness. May your enemies not rejoice over you. Amen.
