THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Thursday 3RD July 2025)

“Then the Lord said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.

Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.

It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. 1 Kings 19:15-17 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 184TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

We give God the Glory for giving us another day!! This is the day the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it. We sleep and wake up because the LORD keeps us. He that keeps us will never sleep or slumber. His mercies have been new every morning!! Great is His faithfulness.

We stepped into this month with a refreshing stream of truth on what our divine destiny needs to be fulfilled.

The seed of divine destiny is in everyone but can never be activated until we have an encounter with Christ. That is what makes a genuine salvation encounter or a consistent personal relationship with Jesus Christ the first thing a divine destiny needs to be fulfilled.

Yes, it is another glorious day!! However, days are seeds God sow into our lives to bring forth works of righteousness. He does that in order to help us serve our generation according to His will by working what the Bible calls “the works of the LORD.”

Jesus says, “I must work the works of Him that sent me while it is day for the night comes when no man can work.” If He lives in us, we will be driven to do the same. That is where the application of wisdom and knowledge in the release of divine destiny comes into play.

“Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times and strength of salvation” says the LORD.

Meaning we will never be strong and stable in the release of our divine destiny without divine wisdom and knowledge about our divine destiny. No one can work the works of He that called us out of darkness into His marvelous light until he receives adequate wisdom and knowledge on what God wants them to do and how to do it.

THAT IS WHY GOD HAVE BEEN SPEAKING TO US ABOUT THE THINGS OUR DIVINE DESTINY WILL NEED TO BE UNLEASHED.

The vision is to arm us with the wisdom and knowledge we need to gain stability in matters of divine destiny and possess the strength of salvation we need to unleash it.

We have seen eight things our divine destiny will need to be fulfilled in previous devotional, starting from the month of June. It is a refreshed revelation knowledge. Today we will be highlighting the ninth. God has promised to guide us in ways we should go and never allow us to be in the dark.

That He has been faithful in doing through these devotionals.

The ninth thing our divine destiny will need to be fulfilled is a spiritual midwife. I have said before that divine destiny is like pregnancy. Once a woman is pregnant, the services of a midwife will become inevitable. Once you come to the revelation of divine destiny, the services of a spiritual midwife will become inevitable.

No pregnant woman can midwife herself into delivery.

In the same way, no Child of divine destiny can midwife himself or herself into bringing forth his destiny accurately. We will all need the impartations, prophetic skill, and apostolic directives of a midwife. We will need imputes of a midwife God raised and assigned to us.

Our devotional text today is full of revelation and insights that we can even put in a book. But this is devotional, so we will scoop just a little of what it contains; enough to start the day with.

First, God wanted to finally eliminate Baal worship in Israel. He had a plan! In that plan four men were involved. Three were pregnant with the seed of divine destiny. One was already unleashing his own both as a prophet and a spiritual midwife. His name was Elijah!

THE ONES THAT WERE PREGNANT WITH DIVINE DESTINY NEEDED HIM TO MIDWIFE THEM TO DELIVERY, BUT THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF ANY OF THAT.

Their names were Hazael, Jehu and Elisha. Can you imagine a situation that the preacher who passes by you, or who you always see on tv or hear people speak either good or bad about is the very person you need as a spiritual midwife, yet you are not aware? That was the state they found themselves.

In fact, they never even knew they were pregnant with a seed of divine destiny. They needed a prophet to tell them that. Now, since they never knew they were pregnant with the seed of divine destiny, they also did not know they needed a midwife.

Sadly, there are so many believers who are pregnant with great things from heaven but are not aware they are pregnant. They need true prophetic voices to stop them on the way of life and reveal to them what heaven has impregnated them with; then decode the names and nature of the prophetic babies to them.

If that does not happen, they will defeat their divine destiny! That was the situation Elisha, Hazael, and Jehu found themselves. They were all successful in what they were doing but success in the wrong assignment is still failure.

Elisha was a successful mechanized farmer and the other two were successful military Officers – generals and commanders of the armies of their respective nations. But none of them was in God’s plan for their lives until Elijah met God on the mountain.

Then they sought God on the mountain, today we do not!!

Elijah’s assignment was to function as both a prophet and a spiritual midwife to these pregnant people. A major highlight in our devotional text today says:

“Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.”

If you read carefully, you will discover a word God used on all three pregnant people. That word contains the specific job God assigned Elijah to do in their lives. That word is ANOINT.

HE WAS TOLD TO ANOINT EACH ONE OF THEM TO BE WHAT GOD HAS PRE- DESTINED THEM TO BE!

The word anoint does not just imply pouring some Olive Oil on their heads, since then that was the symbol of the Holy Ghost. It holds deeper things than that. Hidden in that word are two important aspects of equipping for every Child of divine destiny, by the ministry of a God given spiritual midwife.

The word anoint practically means point out their destiny to them; tell them what I have called them to do, train them to grasp it, and then commission them to do it. That was what God meant. Sadly, Elijah succeeded in anointing only Elisha. He did not anoint the rest but passed the responsibility to Elisha.

When Elisha would be commissioning them much later to unleash their destiny, it was too late for them to be trained the way he was trained.

They had to be commissioned as untrained and untrimmed men. That was dangerous. Untrained and untrimmed men and women are our greatest destroyers of the LORD’s harvest today. May that not become you! If God put a destiny seed in you and you do not have a spiritual midwife to help you, the result will be exactly that – you will be untrained and untrimmed.

You need a spiritual midwife to unleash your destiny.

Sometimes God will send a prophetic experience your way to enable you know what you carry then a spiritual midwife to train and trim you to bring it forth. Other times he will use a spiritual midwife to both grant you the prophetic experience then the training and trimming.

Most spiritual midwives carry a prophetic and an apostolic grace on their lives – two especially important treasures of the Kingdom that end time spiritual sons will need to fulfill the purposes of God for our times and season.

THE MESSAGE OF OUR DEVOTION THIS MORNING IS SIMPLE; YOUR DIVINE DESTINY WILL NEED A SPIRITUAL MIDWIFE TO BE UNLEASHED.

It will need a man in the likeness of Elijah to train you in the school of the Spirit and commission you into your assignment. If you try to pursue a divine destiny without a midwife to help you, your destiny will never be released accurately.

What happened to Hazael and Jehu may happen to you!

One of the primary purposes of what we call spiritual fathering is for rendering the ministry of spiritual midwife to a generation that is carrying divine conceptions or pregnancies on their lives, so that they could be preserved, trained and trimmed to unleash it timely, and accurately.

Sadly, that is not what we see today. We have people who were supposed to be spiritual sons and daughters, either living a dangerous rebellious life or possessing a dangerous spiritual in-depended mind. We also find those who have been privileged and given a spiritual midwife, not taking the proper position under them for their training and trimming.

On the other hand, most spiritual fathers cannot even sense what their spiritual children carry like Elijah did for Elisha and the rest. Hence, pushing them into marriages or appointing them to positions and assigning them to things in Church that eventually sabotages their destinies.

Some others become extremely dangerous people who completely tear the garment of their spiritual midwives and come under the curse of God.

While we do not have ready sons and daughters who are willing to go through the process, we also do not have spiritual fathers with the ability to midwife a generation and help them bring forth their babies. It is a major problem, making it impossible to move some precious mantles of the kingdom from one generation to another.

Like apostle Paul said, “there are not many fathers.” We just have many instructors and spiritual boy leaders forcing people to call them papa but very few fathers. When I say boy leaders, I am not referring to chronological age.

If you read the Bible with a deep prophetic insight, you will discover that David was older than Saul in spiritual matters. That is the definition of age in the realm of divine destiny. That was why David acted more maturely than Saul would have when he met him in the cave.

May the LORD use these words to stir you into the release of your destiny. Amen

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY,

“I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you.

For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore, I urge you, imitate me.

For this reason, I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.” 1 Corinthians 4:14-17 NKJV
