THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Thursday 10th July 2025)

“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”

“Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.” Deuteronomy 8:3-5 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 191ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

We bless the LORD our God for giving us another day to be alive and well. Day unto day we are seeing what His mercies, kindness, peace and goodness can accomplish.

The combined forces of these things have given us hope, peace, joy, provision, direction, and the life victories we have been celebrating. It is my prayer that these precious things continue in our lives to the end in the name of Jesus Christ.

The LORD has been speaking to us on the things that His pre planned programs for our lives need to be fulfilled. Yes, we have been briefly looking at what our divine destinies need to be fulfilled. I hope we are ready for the next!!!

The next thing our divine destiny will need to be fulfilled is the glory of the LORD. The glory of the LORD is a God dimension that comes with the trophies or victories of the LORD. It is a dimension that the presence of the LORD brings full of the totality of His magnificence weight and treasure.

It is usually governed by God’s sovereignty. Every destiny needs it to be fulfilled. We see all that in the holy scriptures. If the glory of the LORD is absent in a person’s life, his or her destiny will never be fulfilled. That is why you find anyone in a no-glory situation becoming a shame and a reproach.

The Bible word for a no glory situation is Ichabod. Your destiny cannot be fulfilled when you come under Ichabod. It will rather be defeated and ruined.

A man or woman of destiny in a state of ichabod will never fulfill his or her destiny. They will witness tragic things like the house of Saul, defeat God’s programs for their lives and come to a terrible ruin. It is not God’s will to have any of us in an Ichabod situation. So, if He gets your spirit pregnant with a divine will to live your days pursuing, God will have to cover you with His glory so that your destiny can be fulfilled. He said in His words:

“And the Lord will create over the whole site, over every dwelling place of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory shall be a canopy (a defense of divine love and protection).” Isaiah 4:5 AMPC

ONE OF THE MAJOR ROLES OF THE GLORY IS TO FUNCTION AS A DEFENSE OF DIVINE LOVE AND PROTECTION OVER OUR LIVES.

The reason for that is for our destinies to be released. If a destiny lacks such defense, it will never be fulfilled. What the dragon and wicked and unreasonable men and women will do, will destroy everything. God would have to put you under Church assemblies protected by His glory before you can fulfill your destiny.

That is why your fear for God, holiness and wholeness gets fixed as soon as you join such assemblies.

The necessity of living our days under divine cover cannot be overemphasized. If there is no covering, we cannot increase and multiply. If there is no covering, the enemy will eat us like snacks. We need divine covering, not religious coverings, to become what God created us to be, and the ideal covering in the divine is the covering of God’s glory!!

Now, the term “covering” have been bastardized and used to manipulate people in recent church age. Sadly, most have remained stuck to heretics, diviners called prophets, sinful and ungodly preachers to stay under cover, as they call it. One begins to wonder what kind of spiritual cover a sinful and ungodly church can provide.

We must be careful when it comes to matters of spiritual cover else, we ruin our lives. The ideal spiritual cover is the covering of God’s glory. You must know the signs that show when you come under it so that you will not be under some religious coverings people call spiritual covering.

You know you have come under the covering of God’s glory when your fear for God, your holiness and your spiritual wholeness begin to grow after joining a local church. The glory of God facilitates holy and righteous living before anything else. That is why you find people who know, remaining in churches where their fear for God and holiness is always under scriptural scrutiny.

DIMINISHING SINFUL DESIRES, GROWTH IN THE FEAR OF GOD, AND HOLINESS ARE MAJOR SIGNS THAT ONE HAS COME UNDER AN IDEAL COVER.

That Ideal cover is the covering of God’s glory!!

When the glory covers us, it will make sure that Satan does not have the last laugh. It will protect us from satanic and demonic oppression. It will preserve us in battle and help us to recover from any attack of the enemy, propelling us to bounce back from any fall.

It will do amazing miracles, signs and wonders that will guarantee the release of our destiny even if we live in places where Satan’s throne is. Child of God, understand that it is the glory that make a table for us in the presence of our enemies and does fearful things in righteousness that guarantee the release of our destiny.

It parted the red sea for Israel to go through on dry land, chastised them, fed them with angels’ food for forty years in the wilderness despite their rebellion, and did many other wonderful things in their lives. A major Highlight of our devotional text says:

“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”

This was an uncommon miracle God did in the lives of the nation of Israel so that they may fulfill their destiny. It was performed by the glory of the LORD. It made their clothes grow on them and their shoes do the same.

Can you imagine that people left Egypt with certain clothes and shoes, and the very clothes and shoes grew on their bodies as the grew.

They never had a constant flow of rivers or streams in the wilderness to be taking their bath; the glory just washed them and there was no stench among them. That is what the glory of God does to enable man to release his destiny!!! The glory of the LORD is full of things God does for His name’s sake.

It was responsible for the return of Israel to their land, for the purpose of the release of their corporate destiny.

The glory of the LORD will restore you back to things, treasures and even positions you lost to enable you to release your destiny. It will miraculously bring you back to cities, nations, places and people you need, for you to become all that God has called you to be.

It will unleash signs, wonders and miracles that your destiny needs to be fulfilled, sometimes without you praying about it.

As we bring this to a close, understand that there is a life to live for the glory of the LORD to rest upon you and help you fulfil God’s mission for your life (unleash your destiny) or for it to serve as a covering over your life. That life is a life of doing things according to the due order.

It is a life of not sitting on the seat of the scornful, following the counsel of the ungodly or standing on the ways of sinners. It is a life that is governed by God’s order of doing things. It is important to note that if your life is not lived according to God’s order, it will lack the foundation of the LORD, resulting in a no glory or an Ichabod situation.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY;

“Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:19-21 NKJV
