TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 10th August 2025)
“I was also blameless before Him, and I kept myself from my iniquity. Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His sight.
With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; with a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;
With the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd. For You will save the humble people, but will bring down haughty looks.” Psalms 18:23-27 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 222ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
We decided to open today’s devotional with same devotional text we used yesterday because of obvious reasons. If you camp around scriptures long enough, God will unseal the things He concealed in them to you. He has unsealed certain truths on His mercy to us. There are more!!!
Our destinies will need a walk in God’s mercies to be fulfilled.
We have seen that Grace and Mercy are usually seeded into the life of a man to enable him do truth. They are usually seeded to enable him to escape judgment or suffering for sins committed through genuine repentance. If there was no showing of mercy for this very purpose, then there would have been no soul in Heaven.
The thief on the Cross escaped eternal judgment and fulfilled his eternal destiny because God’s MERCY spoke for him at the most important time of his life on earth.
That is the type of difference God’s mercy make in a man’s destiny. In one moment, you will be on your way down with no hope because you deserve it, but in another, you will be up there celebrating a miraculous intervention you never deserved.
So many people are still on their crosses and on their way to be buried because they do not know how to do what that criminal did in his last minute on earth. Within this context, your cross is the cost of either your sin, ignorance, or a life mistake.
Whenever a man cries unto God for mercy out of the pain of their cross, especially in sincerity and truth, mercy will speak for him, and when Mercy speaks, he will escape something he deserves. He will escape the cost of his sin, ignorance, or life mistakes.
MERCY SPEAKS IN POWER, AND WHEN IT DOES, IT DEALS WITH EVERYTHING A MAN DESERVES.
Yes, when mercy speaks, we will escape the evil machinations of the enemy. When mercy speaks our enemies will be stripped of their power over us. Their evil works will be neutralized. That is why our destinies need God’s mercy to be fulfilled. It’s my prayer that the mercies of the Lord will not depart from our lives. Amen and amen.
The next thing your destiny will need to be fulfilled is divine vindication. Yes, Divine Vindication. The reason is because of the unjust things you will suffer for saying yes to divine destiny!!!
One of the most powerful vindications God ever executed on earth to allow a divine destiny to be released was the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was killed with so many allegations leveled against Him and a lot of slander. Some said He was killed for confronting the Roman government. Others said He was killed for some criminal activities.
The religious sect believed He was killed because he claimed to be God.
There were different opinions about his death. What made it more difficult was the way He was killed. He was killed like the way the most disgusting criminals were killed in those days. Some say, if He was not guilty of all the allegations leveled against Him, as a prophet, God would have intervened to prevent Him from dying.
In fact, that generation never knew that Jesus’ death was a sacrifice for our sins.
They were aware He died but were not aware that He resurrected, His disciples were the ones spreading it, and God had to confirm the spread with signs, wonders and miracles. In fact, some even said God was the one who moved against Him for daring the religious establishment. Do not forget, He decreed woe on them.
THE BOOK OF ISAIAH PUT WHAT SOME PEOPLE THOUGHT ABOUT HIS DEATH IN THESE WORDS.
“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.” Isaiah 53:4 NKJV
Yes, there were people who saw how painful and shamefully He died and concluded that God was responsible for His death. That God struck Him for His attack on the law of Moses. But they were right in half.
God indeed struck Him, but for our sins, He took what we should have taken and still takes it even today. His death was a sacrifice for our sin. However, that generation never knew, so God had to vindicate Him by raising Him from death. God would not raise who He wants damned.
He raised Him to vindicate Him, aside redeeming us. His vindication led to the release of His destiny as the lamb that takes away the sins of the world. In His death, we died too; yes, to die no more, and in His resurrection, we were justified to be condemned no more.
Except we walk away from His love (like some in the early church did) His resurrection sealed our Heaven making. Hallelujah!!! That was the huge destiny Jesus fulfilled for us, and made it happen through divine vindication. You will need divine vindication to fulfill your destiny!!
To be vindicated means to be “set free from allegation or blame.” It means to prevent attack by providing justification and defense for someone. Someone reading this devotional today needs God to provide justification and defense for him or her very urgently.
Sometimes the pursuit of destiny has a way of throwing things at us that make people blame us for things we never did – things that come with false evidence that inspire everyone to blame and condemn us. Satan knows how to cook up “false evidence” and make them appear true in the eyes of people, simply to nail the righteous especially in the courts of public opinion.
THAT IS WHY WE NEED DIVINE VINDICATION!
The Bible says:
“Arise, O Lord, in your anger; lift up yourself against the rage of my enemies; and awake [and stir up] for me the justice and vindication [that] You have commanded.” Psalm 7:6 AMPC
There is a justice and vindication that GOD has commanded for destiny men and women who are under attack. That is the justice or vindication to seek God for in prayers if at the course of the pursuit of God’s assignment upon your life, you run into situations that needs it.
For instance, this justice and vindication God commands, is the very vindication to ask for in prayers if you said something that is true even with tears but no one, even those you thought should know better, believed you.
Yes, that is the vindication to meet the LORD to grant you if someone lied against you so perfectly that you could not defend yourself. It is the vindication to seek the LORD for if God told you something and everyone doubted it, calling you all sorts of unprintable names or saying you made it up.
The justice and vindication God promised us is what to seek Him for if you are ill-treated and maltreated for something that is true, but people thought was not true, hence making life unbearable for you. Your destiny might not be fulfilled if God does not show Himself blameless in your life to vindicate you.
When Joseph was thrown into prison for what he never did, that would have been the end of his life if God had not vindicated him. If the LORD had not vindicated him of the allegations of Potiphar’s house, there would have been no Joseph for us to talk about.
GOD HAD TO VINDICATE HIM AFTER TWO YEARS.
Yes, his vindication came after two years and those who accused him became his subject. He ended up having so many people to forgive – not just his brothers. That is what divine vindication does, it will leave you with so many people you must forgive and let go.
The blessing of divine vindication has a way of making you a master over your accusers and creating the environment for the release of your destiny. That was what happened to Joseph and God is set to do it in your life.
He is set to eliminate the damaging lies told against you for His greater purpose for your life to be fulfilled. A part of our devotional text says:
“With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; with a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;
With the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd. For You will save the humble people, but will bring down haughty looks.”
May the promise of the LORD in this scripture be made manifest in your life today. May the blessing of divine vindication begin to speak in your life and propel the release of your destiny.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!
“He will make your vindication shine forth like light, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.” Psalm 37:6 CJB
