THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 12th August 2025)

“The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear as the learned.” Isaiah 50:4 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 224TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

This is the day the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it. It has been a beautiful year, not because of our righteousness, prayers or services to God as important as they are, but because of God’s mercies.

Most people who started this year and are prematurely no more, were righteous people, Some even more righteous than us.

Others were very prayerful people, who served God diligently and painstakingly but today, they are prematurely no more. Their lives teach that as good as it is to be righteous, prayerful and diligent in serving God, those are not always the reason for one’s sustenance on earth. God’s mercies have always been the reason.

What shall we conclude then? Is there injustice upon God’s part? Certainly not! For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion.

So then [God’s gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God’s mercy. [It depends not on one’s own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God’s having mercy on him.] Romans 9:14-16 AMPC

The gift of life we have today, is not a question of our will or efforts but of God’s mercy. On this platform alone, He has been speaking to us and stirring our hearts daily towards His will and ways, an important survival kit for His kingdom citizen. We have also been having the best of His presence in our in-person meetings.

Our hearts are filled with joy and gratitude for all that. I strongly believe, as Jesus said, that our generation, especially those who follow the steams of this ministry, have heard from the LORD things that many prophets, apostles, pastors, intercessors, teachers and evangelists do not know in the holy scriptures.

WE OWE ALL THAT TO HIS MERCIES AND COMPASSION TOWARDS US!

Today we will be looking at one more thing that our divine destiny needs to be fulfilled, and that thing is a regular word encounter. Yes, a regular word encounter. You will never fulfil your destiny if you do not hear, read or study from God on daily bases.

If you are attending a church that is always performing spiritual things on you instead of bringing you to the place of apostolic word encounters, you will never fulfill your destiny. Your destiny is made up of the hidden word, you will therefore need a regular word from God, not just a divine direction but a word to study, to feed on, and internalize to fulfill it.

All who walked with the LORD proved that we will all need a regular encounter with words, truths, teachings, directives or preaching from the LORD for our destinies to be fulfilled. Even Jesus, when He came as man, He could do nothing without a word from the LORD on daily bases.

God quickened His ear on daily bases to hear from Him and keep unleashing His destiny as the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. The prophet Isaiah saw this dynamic way God would lead Him, years before He became flesh and stated what we used as our devotional text today.

The text prophesied that God would give Jesus a word in season for His life as son of man, by quickening Him morning by morning, and awakening His ear to hear. The word came to pass in His life and ministry. As God will have it, before He left, He passed the same heritage to us; the heritage of receiving word encounters from His Spirit the way He got it while He was here. The text says:

“The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear as the learned.” Isaiah 50:4 NKJV

THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN SPEAK A WORD IN SEASON TO HE WHO IS WEARY IF GOD DOES NOT SPEAK A WORD IN SEASON TO YOU ON DAILY BASES.

It is the word God speak to us that prepares our hearts to receive what we need to speak to others, as His children on earth. That is why genuine prophets do not prophesy from their own hearts. They do not speak when God has not spoken. They are not under pressure to perform. They speak only the words of God.

In the same way, your destiny cannot be fulfilled by words from your own heart. Except it is sanctified and recreated, the heart of a man is desperately wicked. Whatever comes out of it will not help in the release of a divine destiny. Your divine destiny cannot be fulfilled based on words from there or from the hearts of others either.

Your destiny can only be fulfilled through words that comes from God’s heart to you on daily bases. That is why you must tune your heart to God’s heart, concealed in the Holy Scriptures, through a personal time spent with the word, and buttressed by teachings from your God given Bible Teacher, or other God created ways.

Joshua was a warrior of righteousness in Bible times who did just that and ended up having great word encounters that made it possible for him to fulfill his divine destiny. He literally made his ways prosperous through that. God said to him:

“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” Joshua 1:8 AMPC

From this scripture, we can see that if there is no regular word encounters in our walk with the LORD, there will be no release of our divine destiny. Yesterday word will never help us today. We must get today’s word for today and leave yesterday’s word to yesterday.

Friend, if you are going to be all that God called you to be, it will not be by running after prophets but running after God for a word from Him on daily bases. The life of Joshua proves that we must be given a daily word encounter from the LORD to unleash our destinies. That is the message of today’s devotional.

Living a life that encounters God’s word on daily bases, will give you a blessed life and style that cannot be broken by the enemy. It will give you a life that is lived from covenant realms that are rooted in the throne of God, and with that kind of life, there is nothing God created you to do or be that you will not be able to do or be.

It is my prayer that we all take these precious truths to heart. Amen!!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.

I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, Nor did I rejoice; I sat alone because of Your hand, For You have filled me with indignation.” Jeremiah 15:16-17 NKJV
