THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 13th August 2025)

“But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.

Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.” Ruth 1:16-17 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 225TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

The LORD our God in the midst of us is mighty. He has been saving! He has been delivering. He has been rejoicing over us with singing. Indeed, His mercies endures forever.

The LORD has been beaming His light on Bible truths that shows what a divine destiny needs to be fulfilled. It has been a journey with the LORD, and we are grateful. We are grateful for all the insights, revelation knowledge, and unveiling of the pathways to live our days following.

Today we will be looking at the next thing our divine destinies needs to be fulfilled, and that thing is an unconditional commitment to the LORD.

This is one destiny requirement that has been responsible for the rise of many in the faith. It is a strong requirement that separates the hypocrites from honest believers. It puts a difference between boys and men, and between girls and women. Another word for this requirement for the release of destiny is righteous commitment.

That dichotomy or distinction is necessary. What makes empire rise and marriages stand firm is righteous commitment.

If everyone is committed to what is right in God’s eyes, there will be no opening for the enemy to break in and cause any trouble. That is why if you are unconditionally committed to God’s righteous course as you pursue the release of your destiny, there is nothing that can stop you from reaching your divine goal.

Many are not blessed today because they can’t commit. They cannot commit to one church, they cannot commit to any relationship, they cannot commit to anything, even when it will be very helpful. They cannot commit to their husbands, wives, children or parents. They cannot commit to their pastors. They just cannot commit to you even if you have been very helpful to them.

IT’S NOT JUST PEOPLE OR PROGRAMS THEY CANNOT COMMIT TO; THEY CAN ALSO NOT COMMIT TO THEIR WORDS.

The word “commitment” is not part of the words that forms their paradigm. That is not good. You find them not living out God’s plans for their lives, you find them living dangerously and following the paths of no commitment to anyone, hence sabotaging their destinies.

Destiny is released when we commit and sabotaged and thrown into the trash of life when we do not commit. We may have lofty promises from God, but if we do not commit to Him, none of them will be fulfilled. You will have a life full of the revelation of what God wants to do with you.

We have said this repeatedly that if you do not commit God will not submit. Our devotional text today, has some snippets of one of the most wonderful stories in the Bible, a story of how one’s commitment to another brought her into a big plan of God. The Bible says:

“But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.

Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.” Ruth 1:16-17 NKJV

You see commitment in this scripture? You see, Ruth was so committed that no one could weary her. That is a Bible example that we must all embrace if we want to end committed.

Bible history has it that it took a long time for the book of Esther to be canonized into the scriptures. And you will agree with me that if that book was not made part of the Bible, so many would not have stepped into their destiny through it.

THINGS HAVE BECOME SO BAD THAT PEOPLE NO LONGER COMMIT. THAT IS WHY GREAT DESTINIES ARE BEING WASTED OR DESTROY.

Pastors no longer commit themselves to their members or Churches. Members no longer commit themselves to their pastors or Churches. We make quick promises with our mouths but deny we ever made them with our lives when the need to commit emerge. That is why it has become very difficult to submit blessed things to people.

In the kingdom, if you do not commit you are not entitled to anything. There are things heaven will never SUBMIT to us until we COMMIT or become committed. As a marriage minister, for example, I have come to discover that one factor that is keeping many single or making those who got married not to stay married is lack of commitment.

A man of God once said, “People no longer get married these days.” And I concur with him, because marriage without commitment is a mirage.

I believe strongly that people no longer get married; they only march to the altar or look at themselves and exchange empty vows – vows they will never keep – then go to live together without committing to themselves (and maybe bear Children) and then tear themselves apart afterwards.

One of the greatest plagues that is upon us today as humans is lack of commitment to what is right in God’s eyes. Obviously, it is not helping us! It is hurting us very badly. Sadly, many are still not ready to repent.

For instance, lack of commitment is the reason we have Children without parents. It is the reason for broken homes and broken hearts. A young man will impregnate a young woman and not commit himself to her, resulting in what the society calls “a fatherless Child.”

Sadly, we do not know that commitment is what should qualify a man to put his seed in a woman not the satisfaction of sexual desire. If Ladies stop allowing men who will not commit to them, take them to bed or march them to the altar, it will reduce a lot of pain on the face of the earth.

IF PASTORS STOP JOINING PEOPLE WHO WILL NOT COMMIT TO THEIR MARRIAGE VOWS IN MARRIAGE, IT WILL SAVE UNBORN CHILDREN FROM THE PERILS OF LIFE.

Commitment is the glue that keeps any relationship together, especially when things go sour. It is the force that takes our destinies, from the declaration to manifestation. It is the power behind the release of any destiny in God. Commitment is one way we break from stagnancy and move forward in Life.

As we bring this to a close, I want to submit to you that it is commitment that separates men from boys and women from girls.

It is commitment that separates the responsible from the irresponsible. If you will commit to that thing that God has given you; that marriage, that business, that Church, that vision in your heart, or that job, you will stumble into blessings that will amaze you.

God will begin to submit things to you. He will submit power, success, life progress, peace, fulfillment, growth, development, prosperity and victory to you. Yes, He will submit much more than you can ever ask or think. He will submit such great heights to you that you will lack words to express.

That is why no one gets to greater heights in life until they are unconditionally committed to God’s assignment for their lives no matter how small. They understand that commitment to small things is what prepares and qualifies us for big things.

Yes, they know that if you are committed to God in the backside of the desert, God will submit to you great victories in the view of everyone, making you a model to be looked unto in His kingdom.

You won’t fail IN Jesus precious name! AMEN!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY

“Then he said, “Blessed are you of the Lord, my daughter! For you have shown more kindness at the end than at the beginning, in that you did not go after young men, whether poor or rich.

And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you request, for all the people of my town know that you are a virtuous woman.” Ruth 3:10-11 NKJV
