TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 16th August 2025)
“For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey;
a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. Deuteronomy 8:7-9 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 228th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
It is another weekend, and we thank the LORD for His marvelous kindness. He healed our diseases, kept us healthy, protected us from danger, redeemed our souls, satisfied us early with His mercies, provided us with food and shelter and beautified our lives.
We will not get tired of declaring God’s works in our lives, in fact the Psalmist did it seven times a day. He said:
“Princes persecute me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your word. I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.
I hate and abhor lying, but I love Your law. Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments.
Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119:161-165 NKJV
Our mouths are too small to share the great peace many have found through these devotionals and through the word of the LORD that is being taught at our apostolic center in Nairobi and elsewhere. Indeed, the word of the LORD brings great peace and helps those who love it not to stumble.
Our devotional text today is a revolutionary scripture. I admonish that we all let it create a vision in our heart, if we have not. Yes, a vision of what to expect from the LORD as you read this devotional.
You see, when God speak, we see things, that is if we allow what He said to sink into our hearts through meditation. I reiterate again that we let the voice of the LORD in this scripture create some divine pictures in the eyes of our heart (or spirit), because until the eyes of our spirits have seen supernatural things in the spirit, we cannot step into them in the natural.
UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN WHAT GOD SAID WITH THE EYES OF YOUR SANCTIFIED SPIRIT, YOU MAY NEVER EXPERIENCE IT IN YOUR LIFE.
That is one of the principles that govern the manifestation of blessings from eternity to time. That is why one of the costliest things in the kingdom of God is spiritual blindness.
The Book of Deuteronomy Chapter 8:1-18 is one book I will counsel you to spend the beginning of every season of your life, like birthdays, marriage anniversaries or any other eventful season of your life feeding on and believing in. It is a book that God anointed to position us to prosper by tapping into His riches in glory.
We have been looking at the things that our divine destiny needs to be fulfilled. The next is a supernatural activation that takes place when one feeds, meditates on and believes every word God said in the book of Deuteronomy 8:1-18. It is a Bible portion that can get us plugged to glory.
It has capacity to bring is into enter realms of blessing where lack and scarcity do not exist. Don’t forget, the glory of God is the very storehouse where God’s riches for the righteous are kept. And our devotional text made it clear that part of the prosperity of the righteous is to eat bread without scarcity or lack.
In his second letter to the church at Corinth, on the 9th chapter, Paul defined this prosperity to be a life of sufficiency in all things made possible by God’s grace. That is what your divine destiny will need.
However, it is impossible to enjoy this kind of economic freedom God’s way without having our souls unplugged from financial systems created by the spirit of hell.
Yes, a man’s soul must be unplugged from the spirit of hell that runs most financial systems of this world to enabled him tap into the prosperity described in Deuteronomy 18. That was why God took Israel through a 40-year period of learning – a period of divine process – to unplug their souls from the spirit of hell that ran the Egyptian Economic system they were in.
SADLY, MANY ARE YET TO HAVE THEIR SOULS UNPLUGGED FROM THIS DANGEROUS SPIRIT.
That is why they have not been blessed! They are yet to submit their will to God’s will, hence making it impossible for blessings to sit in their lives. When a man’s will have not being submitted to God’s will, hell will have him and Heaven will not be able to bless Him.
God’s first response to any man who desires the prosperity of the righteous is to unplug his soul from hell and take over the control of the man’s will. You must understand that very well. Israel had to journey through the wilderness for 40 years for that to be achieved in their lives.
When you hear God telling you not to live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth, He wants to unplug your spirit from hell the spirit, take full control of your will and plug you to His glory. Don’t forget, Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail against us.
But the only way for that to happen lies in our willingness to be fed until His Holy Spirit takes over the control of our wills.
Israel was in constant battle with this spirit that was why all who left Egypt, except for Joshua and Caleb, never entered the promise land. We are also in constant battle with it. That is why not all who gave their lives to Christ will make Heaven because of their lack of commitment to Christ.
It’s a sad reality that brings tears out of the eyes.
The Bible made it clear that the spirit (of hell) was drawing those who could not make it to the promise land back to Egypt each time they hit a time of difficulty. Whenever it does, they will rebel against God and speak ill of Moses. This continued until they all died in the wilderness. And Paul warned us to be careful because we are facing the same spirit today.
HE WROTE IN HIS LETTER TO THE CHURCH AT CORINTH SAYING:
“Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food,
and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”
Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-12 NKJV
That is why when we begin to murmur and complain and commit sexual immorality; loving pleasure more than God, we make Heaven rumble. Heaven rumbles because we are about losing our salvation. Though some erroneously believe that their salvation cannot be lost, but the Bible says otherwise.
All who think they stand must take heed least they fall back into the hands of the spirit of hell and lose their souls the way the thousands who let Egypt lost their lives. We must be in constant guard against the spirit of hell! Our souls must be unplugged from it
As earlier stated, it is the spirit that is drawing many Christians back to sin and compromise today, especially each time they hit some difficulties like Israel did in the wilderness.
IT IS THE SPIRIT OF COMPROMISE!
It pushes us to lower the standards for comfort, money and other cravings of the flesh to come in or be satisfied. We forget that any comfort or money that comes into our lives through compromise will consume us finally. That is why the prosperity of some has destroyed them.
But concerning the Israelites the Bible says, God humbled them, allowed them to hunger, and fed them with manna which they did not know, nor did their fathers know, that He might make them know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 8:3)
That is the same revelation we need to unplug our souls from hell the spirit, in other to be properly positioned to be plugged it into God’s riches in glory. Hallelujah!
It is God’s process for us, a process He activates when bringing us into blessings in His kingdom. It is most times a painful and lengthy divine process, depending on how synchronized one was with hell before Jesus met him or her. That is why many do not like it. To them it is painful and takes too much time.
But they fail to realize that God can never prosper who He has not processed. He does not FILL who He has not FORMED. Only hell prospers people without process. Just one moment of worship of self or Satan is enough for hell to give you the riches of this world. But it is not so with our God.
He must first empty us of everything contrary to His will. He must empty us of sin, self, the evil and corrupt systems of this world and Satan, before pouring blessings from His glory into us.
In simple terms, the prosperity of the righteous does not come swiftly – I mean without divine process. If you want God to prosper you then you must be ready to have Him process you. The reason for that is to build in you the capacity to carry what He is bringing.
I HAVE COME TO DISCOVER THAT MANY WHO ASPIRE GREATER ECONOMIC FREEDOM DO NOT HAVE CAPACITY TO HANDLE EVEN ONE MILLION.
Just a little financial raise you will not see them in Church again. There was this woman that hunger kept very close to me for a season, she was always asking me for prayers. But as soon as she got a little financial rest she disappeared and stopped seeking God. I marveled.
Then I asked myself “what will she do if God gives her one million?” She will just jump into hell itself.
Most people who seek prosperity from God lack the capacity to carry what they are asking Him to give them. God will never give you what He has not given you capacity to carry successfully. Comfort remains the cheapest access to corruption. That is why Jesus Himself said, “It’s more difficult for the rich (without God) to enter into the kingdom of GOD.”
Another reason the prosperity of the righteous do not come swiftly lies in the story of Lazarus and the rich man. God will rather have us poor on earth so we can be with Him in Heaven like Lazarus, than have us rich on earth and be in hell like the rich man. You must understand that He will never prosper you below the prosperity of your soul. Only hell will do that.
Satan so much wants us in hell that he can give us the whole world to help us loose our souls. That is why the prosperity of the wicked destroys them!
As you pass through this day, do not forget that divine process will be necessary in your journey into your riches in glory. Your destiny will need it to be fulfilled. People who dodge divine process will eventually end up with the prosperity of hell; a prosperity that is not good for you!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION OR THE DAY!
“Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth.”
“The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.” Psalm 25:12-14 NKJV
