TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 26TH August 2025)
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. WELCOME TO THE 238TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
Mercies from the LORD has kept us, peace from the LORD has been the guard of our hearts.
His precious Spirit has been the giver of our breath. He has remained faithful. Indeed, He is our Father in Heaven who deals with us according to His mercies. To Him belong the glory, amen and amen!!
We have been looking at what our divine destiny needs to be fulfilled. The word has been coming as a stream of life to us, and we are grateful for His marvelous works. The next thing our divine destinies need to be fulfilled is an understanding of the spiritual warfare around us and how to live victoriously.
Friend there is war on earth. When I say war, I mean spiritual war. If we do not understand this spiritual warfare around us and how to live victoriously, we will be doing things that give the enemy upper hand over us. We will ensnare ourselves and do foolish things that the enemy can use to build a resistance against us.
If you want to fulfill your destiny, you must understand that there is a spiritual war raging against us and this war is responsible for everything happening physically. It is responsible for the rise and fall of Kingdoms, the rise of tribes against tribes, nations against nations, siblings against siblings, and so forth.
Our LORD and savior Jesus Christ spoke of how parents will rise against their own children and how children will rise against their own parents, mostly because of their divine destinies. The Bible speaks of how a man’s enemy shall be they of His own house.
SINCE LUCIFER FELL FROM GLORY, AND ADAM LEFT THE PORTAL OF GLORY IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN, THE EARTH HAS NEVER KNOWN PEACE!
You must understand all that and live your life carefully. Adam’s own destiny was thwarted because he never understood the warfare around him. Perhaps he would not have eaten that fruit if he knew that it would put Satan in control of humanity. His destiny was sabotaged by evil because of that. The Bible says:
Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’ “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life.
Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:17-19NKJV
This scripture contains the curse man brought upon himself by taking one action whose depth of spiritual consequences he never knew. Every man or woman of destiny must know that our actions have spiritual consequences and be careful of what we do. The consequences can be severe sometimes, needing even a lifetime of repentance and turning to the LORD for restoration to come.
We must all understand that most times is not what the devil is doing that is killing us, because we are under the blood, but what we are doing.
If you look at this scripture, you will realize something in the light of what we are sharing today. The sentence “because you have heeded the voice of your wife and have eaten from the tree of which I commended you saying “you shall not eat…” says a lot.
One of the things we can glean from it is obvious. Adam was having peace in his life until he did what he should never have done. Every man and woman of destiny must put that into consideration. It is the things we are doing that we should not be doing that are ruining us not really what the devil is doing because he is defeated already.
Our devotional text says Jesus’s death destroyed him; it took the power he had to harm us away from him.
SADLY, WE ARE NOW THE ONES EMPOWERING HIM.
The text says:

The word of the LORD in this scripture is true! The devil no longer has the power to harm us. Jesus destroyed all that on the cross. If you find him harming anyone, that person gave him the power to harm them through what they have done or are doing.
Friend, the things we have done that we should never have done, or the things we are doing that we should not be doing, empowers the devil in ways we can never imagine. It’s just that we do not know. They hold severe spiritual consequences because of the war on earth.
Let me reiterate again, the things you are doing are either making you or marring you, they are either consecrating you or desecrating you, they are making you captive of some unclean spirits or preserving you from them. You must be careful of what you do more than what the devil might be doing.
As a man or woman of destiny, understand that the places we are going that we should not be going, the people we are conversing with that we should not be conversing with, those we are sleeping with that we should not be sleeping with, the things we are saying that we should not be saying, and even the foods we are eating that we should not be eating, are our real enemies.
Those things are either killing us slowly or will kill us slowly someday. This is a call for self-examination.
Are there things you are doing that you should not be doing? Are there things you are accepting that you should not be accepting? Are there pleasures you are enjoying that you should not enjoy because of the spiritual consequences they will bring to your life later?
TIME FOR US ALL TO SEARCH OURSELVES LIKE THE BIBLE TEACHES AND STOP DOING THINGS WITH SEVERE SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES.
Adam never knew that there was an evil power acting behind everything, hence coming under it after doing what he should not have done. Though we have been redeemed and freed from the curse that came on humanity that day, the lessons in it are timeless.
We must understand that even in this dispensation, there are things that when we do, puts Satan in control.
Yes, there are decisions that when we take, unleash the demonic against us until God intervenes and save us. Every man and woman of destiny must know and avoid the things that puts demons in control and empowers them to harm us. If we do not, we may not fulfill our destinies, or we may fulfill them but in other designs.
Friend, if we understand the actions that support the work of the devil and stop them, if we know the very things that if we do, we unleash evil against our lives, and stop doing them, we will begin to have peace, prosperity and progress because there is war on earth.
