TODAY’S DEVOTION (Friday 12th September 2025)
“Blessed is the man whose strength is in you, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; the rain also covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion.” Psalms 84:5-7 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 255TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
It’s been 255 days of God’s mercies, kindness and compassion. It’s been 255 days of God’s faithfulness, unfailing love and victory. We thank God for it. It is out of His mercies that we are not consumed for His compassion fails not.
Day unto day we are seeing His Light through His word, and night unto night His marvelous deeds. He has kept us, fought our battles, and granted us victory even in the most dangerous times. He has kept our faith intact despite the horrors of the last days. To Him all the glory belongs!!
Ministry can be burdensome sometimes. Few years ago, I sat to listen to sad stories of what many were going through and wondered why, then the LORD said to me it’s because of Church failure. If the church fails, the gates of hell will begin to prevail against people. Stories like what I was hearing will begin to happen.
Honestly, I never wanted to be a Pastor, and even till this moment, I wake up to tell myself I don’t like this job. I do wish I had an option. But no prisoner of prophecy has an option. Yes, no bound servant has an option. He must do the will of He that send Him and finish the work.
When God said that most of the things I heard that day from the mouth of the people was because of Church failure, the book of Ezekiel chapter 34 that spoke about irresponsible shepherds came to mind. It is important to understand that from the eternal past, God had preplanned to establish a spiritual family on earth, hence creating Adam.
In His redemptive plan, that family is called the church. It holds the destiny of all of us, that is why Satan perverts it, and a lot is happening today in the name of church. But the church in her apostolic order remains a gathering a human should not forsake. The Bible says:
“not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 NKJV
EVERY HUMAN IS ON A JOURNEY, A JOURNEY FROM TIME TO ETERNITY.
Attending a Church in apostolic order will help us to end well in this journey. Friend, we are at the end of the time. As the consummation of all things draws closer, we should increase our Church attendance and not diminish it. Sadly, the opposite is happening. People no longer go to Church.
Some who go faithfully attend local assemblies that lack what it takes to move them from faith to faith, grace to grace, and strength to strength! They go faithfully but are still the same in spiritual state.
The liars are not learning to lie; in fact, in many Churches, they are taught to lie, steal and commit sexual sins in the process, so long as it is bringing money to them.
In a very shameful incident, a certain preacher contributed to the spiritual decay of a man who has a call of God upon his life. He and wife joined this Church and tried to live right but the teachings of the Church would not let them. The man started seeing it as ideal to tell lies that bring money.
He began by telling small lies, and then he grew into big lies until he became a con man. All the lies made him momentarily rich. He shared the financial proceeds with his pastor. Today, the same Church that taught him how to lie has sent him away for becoming poor.
Church in an apostolic order is what we need, not church in perverse order. It may not be a sin not to go to a local church in an apostolic order, but it is a big loss. It’s a big loss to be faithful in a church that is not straightening your moral life and urging you to use the grace of God to bring it to divine standard.
If this man had made himself a member of a spiritually sound Church, his life would not have turned out the way it did.
Some Churches today make men sons of hell. They look nice and inviting, physically. Their song services are great and entertaining, their preaching powerful so to speak, but by spiritual impact on the souls of men they are spiritual mortuaries that carry out the spiritual embalmment of spiritually dead people to dump them in hell.
DO NOT ATTEND SUCH A CHURCH. IT WILL MAKE YOU A SON OF HELL!!
It is better to sit at home praying to the LORD to lead you to a sound Church than to worship in a Church that will take care of your financial needs, give you recognition and position but make you a son of hell. Do not be a victim of such subtle traps of Satan. Jesus in the book of revelation call such local churches synagogues of Satan.
He said in His word.
“Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” Revelation 3:9 NKJV
Our devotional text said we go from strength to strength when we appear before the LORD. That only happens in a local Church that is part of the true Church Jesus is building, a church in an apostolic order.
It can never happen in a synagogue of Satan operating as Church, because none is appearing before God when they worship there. They are appearing before Satan that is why the highest revelation about the spirit realm in such is the depths or inner truths of Satan.
When you worship in a synagogue of Satan with the appearance of Church, it will fill your heart with crave for the earthly – your love for God will be replaced with a love for money. Getting married will become your greatest vision making you a cheap prey to the sex demon. It will make you a lover of pleasure rather than a lover of God.
It will make you part of the end time race of perverted Christians known as perilous people.
Do not forget, the Bible warned us of perilous times and perilous people that will be born in such times. These people will be born in assemblies of Satan called Churches of God. Sadly, we have so many of these people.
FRIEND, THE STRATEGY OF THE ENEMY HAS NOT CHANGED.
He is using the false Church to race himself a race and a people that will spend eternity with him just as God is using the true Church to do the same. You must be careful what you call Church so that you will not fall on the wrong side of the divide.
Get out of any church that is not moving you from spiritual strength to spiritual strength. It is important to note that, any church that is not increasing your capacity to live right and say no to sin, is silently preparing you to spend eternity with the devil, the man of sin himself.
Any Church that is not talking about your need to be rich towards God, saying no to sin and Satan but talking about your need to be rich and influential is killing you with your full cooperation. You may never realize it until you close your eyes in death. In a true Church we go from spiritual strength to spiritual strength not the other way round.
To go from strength to strength simply means to move from one level of spiritual strength of faith to another. It also means to move from natural strength to supernatural strength – a supernatural occurrence that only takes place in a local Church that is part of the true Church of Jesus Christ, a church in apostolic order.
This implies that we’re not supposed to go back home with our sin-stricken lives, poverty, sickness, diseases, worries, or set-backs after appearing before God, especially with the right motive. Appearing before the true God takes all that away and gives us a new life to go back home with – a life of peace and rest that only Christ offers.
In other words, we were not supposed to go back home disappointed and grieved because of the perversion in that church or lack of proper feeding. We were not supposed to return home carnally minded. We were not supposed to return home from a Church service sad for the ungodly things that happened.
We were supposed to return with spiritual strength, a measure of the presence of the LORD, freedom from sin, and fresh spiritual stature. The Bible says,
But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. Obadiah 1:17 NKJV
I pray that the LORD will lead you to where He habituates not just where He visits or where He used to be. May this month be the best you have ever experienced in your walk with God. AMEN
