TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 30th September 2025)
“Behold, is it not of the Lord of hosts that the peoples labor to feed the fire, and nations weary themselves in vain? For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” Habakkuk 2:13-14 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 273RD DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
From the first day of this month to today the last day, God has been faithful to us. Each day of the month, He watched over us with enduring care and never dealt with us according to our unfaithfulness or otherwise but according to His mercies.
He healed our diseases, clothed us with His mercy, fought our battles, and made sure no weapon formed against us prospered. He convicted us of our sins, poured His cleansing Spirit upon us, showed us pathways to walk in in a dark world, and shielded us from all forms of destruction.
Today we can look forward to the next month because He kept us in this month. We can look forward in hope because He has a better plan for our lives and we can look forward in faith because His word that will give us that faith will be coming to us daily, and without faith it is impossible to please Him.
We believe He who kept us this month, will keep us the next month. To Him belong all the glory, in Jesus precious name! Amen.
During the just concluded marriage and family life conference, we heard the Spirit of truth say to us, “until we trample upon snakes and scorpions, we will never be able to exercise authority over all the power of the enemy.” God has given us authority over the snakes and the scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, but many are not exercising that power hence the problems among us believers.
All the powers of the enemy are trampling so many in church today, hence the manifestation of devils in the lives of many. You see spirits having sex with people while asleep and they call them spirit husbands or wives (a heretic term), you see Christians attacked in their dreams by unclean spirits, you see children of Church goers in terrible demonic attacks and all that.
Yes, our bodies are not immortal hence can be sick, but not the kind of illnesses we see today. Many who profess born again are sick with incurable diseases. The spirit of infirmity literally lives in their bodies and oppresses them with all kinds of illnesses. That is not how it ought to be.
BUT IT’S HAPPENING BECAUSE OF LACK OF AUTHORITY OVER ALL THE POWERS OF THE ENEMY.
Some cannot get married because the devil put them under siege, others struggle with curses, some others have been colonized by wicked spirits in the spirit realm, making them poor, rejected, immoral and lots more. Sadly, the so-called deliverance people go through are not delivering them at all.
Prophets, apostles and the rest of the preachers blame evil altars, and some what they call monitoring spirits for these problems. Others blame them on ancestral spirits, generational curses and so forth. The Bible says the preachers plaster the people who are under such spiritual problems with the untampered mortar of heresies, ignorance and falsehood.
They make money from their misfortune and leave them dry!!
The truth is, even if there are these kinds of spirits they mention and the so-called evil altars, why are they succeeding against the people? That should be the question. People should ask, “yes pastor, I believe that my problem is caused by the demon you mention, but why is it succeeding over me as a Christian? It should not!!!”
The question should not be who or what is killing me, but why do they have power over me to the point of being able to kill me. Why will they have power over my health, my marriage, my economy, my spiritual life and so forth? That should be the question, because they should not have that power to do any of what we mentioned above.
True Christianity is a power life; the power life of God lived through Jesus Christ our LORD and Savior. It is a life that flows by the exercise of authority over snakes, scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy. It is a life that tramples them, not a life trampled by them. The Bible says:
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19 NKJV
That is the promise of Jesus Christ to us. If you call yourself a Christian, that is the promise you should be walking in. Those attacks you are going through should not happen. You should be trampling what may be tramping you now.
HEAVEN CONSIDER IT AN ABNORMALITY FOR A CHRISTIAN TO BE TRAMPLED BY THE POWERS OF THE ENEMY AND ALL THAT.
The people that should be trampled by all the power of the enemy are unbelievers not believers. But we the born again, the believers are also trampled like the unbelievers, and that should not be.
But we are trampled also, and that is because we are not walking in the authority Jesus has given us over all the power of the enemy, and we are not walking in it because we are yet to trample on the snakes and the scorpions.
What are snakes and scorpions? Those are metaphors not realities. The Bible teaches that the snake within content represent sin, the scorpion is the consequences of sin. Sin and its consequences are what the Bible describes as snakes and scorpions.
If we can use the grace of God, our authority over the sin that lives in us, to trample upon the practice of sin and its consequences, we will come into the authority over all the power of the enemy and be able to exercise it. That is the message. The exercise of spiritual authority begins with dealing with the snakes and the scorpions, not dealing with the power of the enemy.
That was what the seven sons of Sceva in Acts 19 never knew, hence were beaten by the devil they wanted to cast out of someone. The Bible says it beat them and strip them naked like it is doing to so many of us preachers and our members today, stripping us of our marriages, health, peace and so forth.
We must be able to trample on snakes and scorpions and become pure in heart and life to be able to deal with all the power of the enemy. Then we will no longer go for deliverance, sow seeds for breakthroughs or go raise altars.
THE BIBLE SAYS BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART FOR THEY SHALL SEE GOD.
None of us will be able to see God’s power over all the power of the enemy at work in our lives if we are not pure in heart. A pure heart will result in a pure and powerful life. That is God’s power plan for us. He wants us to achieve purity so that we can be able to exercise all power.
Genuine power flows from the womb of holiness. Any power you see flowing from a man or woman who is full of scandals, who loves money, or who lives a filthy life, is fake. It is not from God.
God’s power could flow from one who falls into sin but not the one who lives in sin. The two are not the same. Samson fell into sin, lost his hair of consecration but came to himself and his hair of consecration grew back, and God’s power exploded. But Samson did not live in sin. I hope you understand me!!
God wants us to achieve purity so that we walk in His power and use it to teach principalities and powers some lessons. His instrument in helping us achieve purity is His transforming glory. A major part of our devotional text says:
“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” Habakkuk 2:13-14 NKJV
You are the earth God wants to fill with His glory so that it can make you pure. When it purifies you, it will then empower you. When it empowers you, you will begin to trample on all the power of the enemy.
That is where the church you attend comes in. The Bible says God will send the rod of your strength out of Zion. If the church you attend is not moving in glory, you will not be purified to carry this authority. You will have to depend on your bishop, apostle, prophet, pastor, etc.
Sadly, we do not have many men and women of God walking in His glory.
We do not have many churches walking in the glory. We have faith filled men and women, anointed men and women, but few are in the glory. Consequently, purity of heart has become an impossibility in so many church members. The foundation of the LORD is missing in their Christianity.
God wants that changed, hence bringing this word to us. It is my prayer that we wake up to the Cry of the Spirit in this devotional and make amends and adjustments that will bring us into a power Christian life. We should always remember that if the glory is not purifying our hearts and lives, the enemy will be feeding on us and trampling us down with his power.
