TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 3RD October 2025)
“Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” Revelation 14:12-13 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 276TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
We thank the LORD for keeping us this far. He has been our helper and keeper. There is no evil that came against us that overcame us. He stood by us as a Mighty Terrible One. He gave us rest from the days of adversity.
It’s been quiet here since Jesus taught us how to learn of Him and find rest for our souls. To God belong the glory!!! Amen
The ultimate vision of God for mankind has been to grant us rest from the days of adversity and from the eternal consequences of the fall. That is one of the major truths that will strike you if you read the Bible with its author by your side.
For instance, you will discover that the nation of Israel functioned in ancient times as God’s prophetic finger to the nations of the earth, passing the same message of giving mankind rest from the days of adversity. The message of the consequence of the fall on humanity and God’s redemptive plan to bring us out, was depicted in the story of their captivity in Egypt and subsequent deliverance.
The Bible says, after bringing them out of Egypt, He struggled with Israel to give them rest from their enemies and use them to win the world back to Him. But their rebellion was not letting things be. But God persisted from the time they settled in the promise land to when the ten tribes were carried away Captive into Babylon, and latter wiped away from their land leaving the two tribes.
His persistence was to use them to reveal that His vision for us all is to give us rest from the days of adversity. But Israel of the Bible days never allowed that vision to be fully revealed. It was regularly distorted by their rebellion. The Bible says even when the ten tribes were carried away captive, the two that remained did not turn from their wicked ways.
Again, God would persist, from that time to when they would be carried away captive. All was to give them rest from the days of adversity. The Book of Hebrew puts it this way:
“Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”
For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.” Hebrews 4:6-9 NKJV
THE SCRIPTURES MADE IT CLEAR THAT REBELLION AND DISOBEDIENCE PREVENTED ISRAEL FROM ENTERING GOD’S REST.
Rebellion and disobedience are two factors that can do anything to prevent us from entering God’s rest for our lives. God wants us to watch against that this month. They would later distort the vision of rest God wanted to pass to the nations of the earth using Israel.
Under Moses they could not withstand the revelation and doctrine that would have given them rest from days of adversity.
Remember what happened at Mount Sinai, when God came down on the mountain to reveal Himself to them. Instead of requesting for the power to hear and see Him as He is, they rejected His glory and requested that Moses alone hear God and speak to them. That was when the idea of a go-between or intercessor was born in GOD’s redemption plan.
If you are not ready to pay the price to see God for yourself, you will always need a go-between to experience God. Chances are, you will experience only the anointing of the go-between, and if you are ignorant of what the presence of God is, you will call it, “the presence of God.” You will never come to the place of experiencing the presence of God in your life the way our early fathers did.
If you look at the church today, you see a lot of youths camping around the anointing of certain men of God under the system of fathering. You can’t find youths who have experienced the raw presence of the LORD, like what men like Joshua experienced.
That is why the struggle with all kinds of sexual sins and lust. God never planned that we experience Him through a go-between, He planned that we come to Him with an open face to meet Him ourselves.
THANK GOD THAT WAS THE ORDER JESUS CAME TO ESTABLISH AND IT HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED.
It was never God’s original intention for man to speak to another man on His behalf. That is why, speaking to man on God’s behalf will come to an end in the age to come. It will not continue because it was not GOD’s original intent.
God’s plan was to have direct communication with every man. That is why the greatest harmony among men is built when all men hear from God directly. If we all hear from God directly, there will be so much unity that disagreement will be alien.
But the rebellion of Israel and their resistance distorted this original plan of God for us. That is why Jesus gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelist, some pastors, and teachers, basically to minister to their fellow men on His behalf, but in such a way that the people will not replace God with them.
The most successful preacher in God’s sight is the one who still functions as God’s go-between for you, not the one who you have replaced God with, but the one who has helped you find a peg in the holy place, so that you can experience the raw power of God directly.
The root cause of disagreements among us, even believers, is that we are not all hearing from the same source, neither are we experiencing the raw power of God. Many hear from other sources and experience the anointing of preachers and take it for the power or presence of God.
Come to think of it, if a husband and wife both hear from God directly and experience the raw presence of God directly from God, they will live in perfect harmony, because Adam in the presence of God had no marital crisis. Oneness will not be something they will struggle with. There will be no crisis in our marriages.
You see, the fall of man was not a marital crisis. In fact, it was mitigated by a marriage that had no crisis. If Adam’s marriage had crisis, the fall of man would not have been taken care of. The Oneness they had, killed what would have killed the marriage completely.
SO, GOD’S PRESENCE AND VOICE IN ANY RELATIONSHIP WILL SECURE IT FROM FALLING.
If a pastor and his members both hear from God directly, and experience His raw presence corporately, the Church will enjoy perfect peace; hearts will be so united that it will be impossible to disagree on anything. The shut down of God’s original plan for us, is the reason for all these.
I reiterate again that God’s perfect plan was for Him to be speaking to each one of us individually and directly helping us to experience His raw presence and power, sometimes through yielded vessels that will not replace Him with themselves through the fathering system.
We need to break from any fathering system that has replaced God in our lives. If we do not, we are idol worshipers, and it will place a curse on us and hinder us from experiencing the raw presence of God and the true voice of the LORD.
Sadly, the spiritual fathering system we have today in church is blocking aspiring people from experiencing God’s raw presence because those who call themselves fathers, preached people into their anointing not into the raw presence of the LORD.
If a fathering system is preaching you into its anointing, you will come under the hinderance in the spirit realm. You will not be able to experience the raw presence of God called the glory. That is a fathering system with a curse.
Friend, when a fathering system becomes a curse, we must all break from the curse. King Saul became a curse to David, and David broke from it. Though Saul went after him to kill him, but God was with him. David would later grow up to experience the raw presence of the LORD and come up with many Psalms that have become pathways into the presence of the LORD for all generations.
IT IS YOUR TURN TO BREAK FROM ACCURSED FATHERING SYSTEMS AND FIND THE RAW PRESENCE OF GOD FOR YOUR LIFE.
God wants to give you rest from adversity, but rest comes when you hear God yourself and experience His raw presence daily. You must be ready to do that, maybe through the help of those God has processed to function as yielded vessels that will not preach you into their anointing but propel you into the presence of the LORD like Samuel did to David.
It was Samuel that helped David find the raw presence of the LORD. Saul only gave him a woman to marry. The idea was to trap him. That is what the accursed spiritual fathering system does, it paints marriage as the ultimate accomplishment, and relationship as a do or die affair.
This is what has given rise to babies marrying babies and marriages crashing within a short time.
It gets young men and women of destiny into traps that come in form of marriages. I have come across several young men and women in marriages, who should not have married as of when they did. Their destinies are just trapped in what they see as marriages, courtesy of some so-called spiritual fathers.
David was trapped with a marriage by his spiritual authority, a marriage that looked promising, but with wrong intentions. Do not be trapped!
Friend, we are in a terminal generation. We do not need spiritual fathers who will feed our flesh and leave our destiny trapped, but fathers who live in the raw presence of the LORD, people who can show us pathways to get there. Those are the spiritual fathers needed now!!
It is my prayer that the LORD will use this devotional to stir you into the very height of faith He wants you to operate at this time of your life. Amen and amen.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDIATION FOR THE DAY!!
“I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you.
For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me.” 1 Corinthians 4:14-16 NKJV
