THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 11TH October 2025)

“Of what use is money in the hand of a [self-confident] fool to buy skillful and godly Wisdom — when he has no understanding or heart for it?

A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.” Proverbs 17:16-17 AMP

WELCOME TO THE 284th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

It has been 284 days since we stepped into this year. That translates into 284 days of breathing in and out freely, having a functional respiratory, nervous and excretory systems

You may not have money but when you go to the Hospital to see people who can not breathe, excrete or function without machines, you will give God the glory. Life is programed in such a way that sometimes it’s good to walk away from your space into other people’s spaces just to have a look at what they are going through.

Someone said, “I used to complain that I have no shoes until I found someone without legs.”

You who are there, complaining that you have no food to eat, might stop to thank God in everything, as He said, if you meet someone with no functional mouth or intestine to eat food. Do not ever allow yourself to slip into the place of not giving God thanks in everything, especially as the last quarter of the year roll by.

The Bible says:

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 NKJV

Sometimes people go the extreme to find what God’s will for their lives is, or what His will for the moment they find themselves is. But here we can find it. The will of the LORD is that in everything we are to give God thanks.

HIS WILL IS THAT WE DO NOT DO THINGS THAT QUENCH HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

His will cut across all aspects of our lives and is sometimes full of revelation knowledge for us. It cuts across our spiritual, marital and financial lives.

One of the major things we all look forward to, as we close the year and prepare for the next one, is the daily manifestation or fulfilment of God’s will for our finances. If there is any reason, we are not to despise prophecies or quench the Holy Spirit, it is to allow Him to take care of us economically or help us unleash our financial destinies.

What is destiny, and what is our financial destiny as believers in Christ?

The word destiny means different things to different people. For us in God’s kingdom, it describes God’s preordained plans and purposes for our lives. It comprises of places, events and people He pre-appointed for us. It is not usually a pre-determined fate, but rather a calling to fulfill in God’s eternal plans.

When we say our financial destiny, we are referring to God’s preordained financial plan, purpose and future for our lives. It comprises of the pre-appointed places and people that must become part of our lives, to help us become people of substance. The Bible says this concerning our financial destiny.

This morning, we want to look at one major thing we need to unleash our financial destiny, and that thing is the presence, service or support of financial partners. I have said repeatedly that we all need people placed in our lives by God to become a person. A Part of our devotional screamed this truth to us in these terms:

“A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17 AMP

YOU WILL NEED PEOPLE PLACED IN YOUR FINANCIAL LIFE BY GOD TO BECOME A FINANCIALLY FREE PERSON.

In the journey of success, there are choice relations that must come into a person’s life to help him or her develop and become successful. In the area of economy and finance, the LORD will send them in to function as financial partners, to help a person fulfill his or her financial destiny.

Some will come during the dark time of your financial life, when you have no significance or essence, to brighten things up, for the purpose of giving you significance and essence. Others will come during the bright seasons of your life, to either keep you shining bright or move you to the next level of financial brightness, the sevenfold level of financial success. The Bible says:

“Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, And the light of the sun will be sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people And heals the stroke of their wound.” Isaiah 30:26 NKJV

This scripture presents the mystery of the increase of God’s glory for His end time purposes. But we can also see something about what we are sharing this morning. It presents levels of success we can enjoy in God, as He begins to prosper and cause us to progress in His will for our lives.

People will be needed at each level. It further shows us the different levels or seasons that God brings in this special people our financial destiny needs to be fulfilled.

For instance, when we are at the level of nursing some financial wounds, or our financial beginnings, God will send in people whose financial mission is to function as His healing balm. If we keep the principle that governs such financial relationship, we will release our financial destiny and become healed of all financial wounds.

WE WILL NOT JUST BE HEALED, OUR MOVEMENT FROM ANY FINANCIAL DUNGHILL TO A FINANCIAL SEAT AMONG PRINCES WILL BEGIN RIGHT THERE.

All we need to do is to keep to the principle that governs such financial relationships. We can see that in the life of Joseph. Potiphar was a healing balm financial partner in the life of Joseph. While Joseph was serving him, he was being healed of what he went through in the hands of his brother.

The principle that governs that kind of relationship is the principle of faithful service, working to satisfy the boss. The Bible says:

“Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.

The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.

So, Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.

So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

Thus, he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.” Genesis 39:1-6 NKJV

The life of Joseph shows that the financial partner God sends to us as a healing balm will need our service, I mean faithful service, for their God sent mission in our live to be fulfilled. Sadly, many think financial partners are just people who give us free monies or promotion in life. But that is not true.

The first level of financial partners will never fulfill their mission if something extraordinary does not come out of us to minister to them. The financial partner must find something in us that they cannot find anywhere else for their mission to be fulfilled in our lives.

POTIPHAR FOUND IN JOSEPH WHAT HE COULD NOT FIND ANY OTHER PLACE, AND THAT MADE HIM TO PLACE THE YOUNG MAN ABOVE ALL.

The LORD used Joseph’s faithful service to his boss to stir the boss’s heart to elevate him to the highest position in that home, and that means good economic life. It is the same principle that must be at work in your life, if you find yourself under this category of financial partners.

You must be faithful and not take their kindness or leniency for granted. You must make sure that they are happy with your job instead of regretting having you around. If Joseph had put Potiphar in the position of regretting bringing him into his house, there would have been no Joseph.

Rather the man was so happy that he elevated him above all. That should be your goal when you find yourself under the same kind of financial partner.

It will later lay the foundation for the next level of financial freedom Joseph had, the level that made him the prime minister of Egypt, Senate president, minister of finance and agriculture. That was the place he achieved the level of the sevenfold sun, in financial success.

If you read the book of Genesis chapter 41 to 42, you will realize that God used a financial partner in the person of Pharoah to bring him to that level.

Even at this level, the king saw in him what he had not seen in anyone else. If people cannot find in you a skill, a talent, a faithfulness, an integrity, a character trait and dedication, a commitment or service that they cannot find anywhere else, you will never fulfill your financial destiny significantly. The God given people who come will be leaving your life without fulfilling their God sent financial mission in your life.

You must have something in you to have people around you, putting money into your life. That is the secret of the journey!!!

As we bring this to a close, understand that the beginning of your financial freedom lies in how you treat the job the financial partners who come in as a healing balm assigned to you, and how you satisfy the standard they set. If you argue with them and prove unfaithful, you will not fulfill a part of your financial destiny. This is what will lay the foundation for other financial partners the LORD might send to you.

This is where many miss it. They do not realize that their bosses or employer are part of God’s financial partnership for the release of their financial destiny. But the Bible teaches that they are.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY.

“Servants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you as pleasers of men, but in simplicity of purpose [with all your heart] because of your reverence for the Lord and as a sincere expression of your devotion to Him.

Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,

Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).

For he who deals wrongfully will [reap the fruit of his folly and] be punished for his wrongdoing. And [with God] there is no partiality [no matter what a person’s position may be, whether he is the slave or the master].” Colossians 3:22-25 AMPC
