THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 16TH JANUARY 2026)

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Ephesians 6:10-11 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 16TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

Expectations of greater things or strategic victories calls for greater commitment to God, dedication to His word, submission to His Holy Spirit and a stronger price to pay for the prosperity of His purposes. Today is the 16th day of the year we want to appreciate God for His kindness.

We also want to thank Him for putting it in our hearts to humble ourselves with a 40 day fast. We are trusting God for strength to cover the rest of the days.

We are on a journey with the LORD. We are part of the generation that does not want God to tell us, “Thy will be done.” Every journey with God needs seasons of humbling oneself with fasting. Sadly, many do not know that lengthy fasting should be part of their walk with the LORD, hence living Christian lives without the blessing of Biblical fasting.

I cannot imagine a Child of God not having seasons of lengthy Biblical fast. His or her life will be too carnal and limited to break into realms of God’s glory. If you do not sow the seed of fasting from time to time, you will never reap the blessing in store for you from time to time.

Fasting is a non-negotiable seed to sow in any walk and talk with God. When Moses asked the LORD to show Him His glory, He was fasting for 40 days. He returned with a face that no one could look at. God was using that to tell us that no one fast under the glory and return the same.

God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him; and the Bible promises that if we seek Him with all our heart (especially through fasting) we will find him. He has rewarded every fasting He initiated with great blessings and out breaks of His presence.

Jesus as man, sought God for 40 days and returned with the power of the Spirit as a reward. No one ever fasted and prayed in scriptures without receiving something uncommon from Heaven. If you want God to do something new in your life in a New Year you must be ready to fast and pray for it in a journey with His glory.

REMEMBER, ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO TAP INTO THE SUPERNATURAL FORCES IN GOD’S GLORY IS THROUGH FASTING AND PRAYER.

Esther tapped into it in her days and God responded. He used her fast to stir the loins of the king to stretch the scepter to her; He made the man who wanted her uncle dead to describe the honor that should be bestowed on her uncle, defeated and transferred his wealth to her uncle.

All that was after a three-day prayer and fasting. Friend, no journey with the glory will be productive without fasting and prayer.

If you are not strong enough to fast these days, there are things that Jesus’s death on the cross granted us access to that will never be seen in your life. Our devotional text said, be strong in the LORD and in the power of His might. One way you display that strength is to demonstrate through fasting and prayer how helpless you are without GOD.

Fasting is one way we surrender ourselves for blessings.

If you are not leading a life of prayer and fasting, you are telling GOD you are not ready for His blessings. The Bible says when we seek Him; we will receive Blessings from him. He said in Psalm 24 “They shall receive Blessings from the LORD and righteousness from the God of their salvation.”

You may say you have been fasting but getting no results, I want you to get this; Fasting under the glory is different from fasting in religion, a sense of uncertainty or panic. You may fast in religion like the Pharisee but before God you are just involved in hunger strike. God wants us to fast under the glory because the glory of God is the storehouse of all we need from God!

If we fast under the glory, it will be a sacrifice that reaches the throne of GOD. When any sacrifice reaches the throne of GOD, He will inhale it and expel His glory on us, leading to outbreak of miracles, signs and wonders. That’s how it works!

SO, PEOPLE WHO JOURNEY WITH THE GLORY WITHOUT FASTING ALONG THE JOURNEY WILL MISS A LOT.

There is a way God send great blessings in our lives. Ancient devils has been arrested, God made to prove Himself and much more, because courtesy of Bible fasting.

It pays to be strong in the LORD! It pays to be strong enough to fast all through a journey with His glory. Your life will just experience a reset during the process – a blessed reset that would not have occurred if you had not chosen to get real or strong in your walk with God.

It’s my prayer that God use this short devotional to build and bless you in Jesus precious name.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!!

Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

So Mordecai went his way and did according to all that Esther commanded him.
