TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 17TH JANUARY 2026)
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.
And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”
And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by. Zechariah 3:1-5 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 17TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
We bless the LORD of Heaven and Earth, the commander in Chief of the host of Heaven, the governor among the nations of the Earth; the one whose kingdom rules and over rules, for giving us another glorious day.
He scheduled our days long before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs. He is the only God who finishes before He starts. He has never started a thing without finishing it first in the Spirit. That is why He does not fail and will never fail.
Failure only occurs in our life if we do not pursue what He has finished.
Child of God, what a mighty God we serve. Heaven and earth adore Him; angels bow before Him. What a mighty God we serve. You are missing a lot if you are not serving this awesome God. Yes, you are missing the foretaste of Heaven that descends on those who serve Him while in fellowship with Him.
You are missing the clouds of glory that forms around those who serve Him if you are not serving Him, especially in spirit and in truth. You are missing the healing, the restoration, the deliverance, the protection, the prosperity and peace that only comes when men serve Him. You are missing much more than what words can say!
You may be serving Church or a man of God; that is different from serving God, and I need to tell you how.
Many who are serving their empty Churches and ‘men of God’ are not really serving God. You see that in their lives. That is why they are sick, poor, sinful, not Spirit baptized, and diminishing despite their busyness for their Churches or their so-called apostle, Bishop, pastor or prophet.
YOU CANNOT SERVE GOD AND NOT BE VISITED AND BLESSED BY HIM FROM TIME TO TIME.
One of the major things God will save you from, either through chastening, teachings, rebukes or correction if you serve Him, is a life of sin. You can not be serving God and comfortably settle into a life of sin. God does not allow those who are serving Him in spirit and in truth to settle into a life of sin.
Bible History proves that He will never allow those who are truly serving Him to settle into a life of sin without chastisement, correction, rebukes, or teachings that stir cleansing and repentance.
God does not allow sin to stick to the lives of His true servants, that includes anyone who is truly serving Him in any capacity in church.
That is why, if you are serving in Church and comfortably living a life of sin, you are not serving God. Check what or who you are serving. It can never be God. You may be serving your pride, your belly, your ego, your desire to be seen and noticed by all, a false church or preacher. You are not serving God!!
You hear and see a lot of sinful lives among church workers, ministers of the gospel and all that and wonder who their master is.
If God were their Master, He will not let them live a life that has no fear for Him. He will not let them move from one sexual sin to another sexual sin, and make what is sinful normal, He will not let them move from one lie to another until lying becomes the norm.
He will not let those who truly serve Him live in or retire to an old life of sin, without confronting, chastening, correcting, cleansing or even administering correctional judgment to them. That is why you will not find any who truly serves God settled in a life of sin!! God will impart the person to live right and stir the person towards purity.
OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT DEMONSTRATED THIS BIBLE TRUTH MORE CLEARLY. IT SAYS:
This scripture is a template of what the LORD will do to His servants to prevent them from living a life of Sin while serving Him. He is Holy God and will not want unholy people to serve Him. He might call them into service imperfect but will perfect them over time because His word says, “be ye perfect, even as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
This scripture tells us how God’s servant, Joshua the high priest, had a filthy garment on him, which manifested as a filthy life in the natural.
The devil used it to hinder him big time, then God came to deal with it. God did not allow him to remain in his filthy garment and go look for another person for the job of the high priest. He rather stepped in to help His servant to overcome the life of filthy garments by giving him a life called rich robes.
Friend, God is a faithful Father who does not abandon his servants when caught in sin or filthy garments. He will move to deal with it. If you see anyone called servant of God living a life of sin unchecked by GOD, he or she is not serving God. Period!!
Finally, you may be wondering why God imparts those who serve Him to lead holy and righteous lives.
It is because of His eternal love for all who serve Him, and desire to have them in heaven when they die. God will not want any of us serving Him to miss heaven, and the key to making heaven is following peace with all men and holiness (Hebrews 12:14). The Bible says without that, no eye will see the LORD!!!
It is my prayer that you become one of those who serve God in Spirit and in truth. You will begin to walk in amazing dominion over sin, and great blessings from God if you do. Amen!!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!!!
Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them.
So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’ ” o Aaron held his peace.
