TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 19TH FEBRUARY 2026)
“The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
Psalms 90:10-12 KJV
WELCOME TO THE 50TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
Glory to the LORD God almighty who lives in eternity but gave us time to spend our days applying our hearts unto wisdom. One of the wisdom to apply our hearts unto is the wisdom of prophecy or prophetic declaration.
God speaks before He moves, so only through prophetic declarations that the presence of God unleash itself into our lives. Only through it can some experience the moves of God. God will do nothing except reveal it to His servants the prophets so they can say it.
That is why the prophetic anointing is very important to the life of a Christian. It helps us to know what God is about doing and position properly for it. When God speaks, you discover what He is about doing, speak it fourth of make decisions that will allow to happen in your life.
What God says gives one the wisdom of how to conduct himself or herself to see His word come to pass in their lives. That is where application of hearts to wisdom comes in. There is always a set of wisdom to apply our hearts to see what GOD may have said to us come to pass.
If God say a thing and we do not search His word further in scriptures to see what to do to allow it to come to pass in our lives, we may never see that thing come to pass.
Without applying our hearts unto wisdom, and doing what need to be done, prophecies spoken over our lives might fail. Most times what to do is not giving an offering or sowing a seed as they call it. It could be something bigger, deeper and stronger.
YOU SEE THAT IN THE LIVES OF THE TRIBE OF LEVI.
They prophecy to be priest over Israel forever was placed upon their lives. But giving some seeds was not part of what they were to do to see it come to pass. They were required to do something stronger, deeper and bigger. A part of our devotional text says,
“So, teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
The Levites were given the wisdom to apply their hearts and lives to on daily bases to see the prophecy come to pass. Bible history has it that God used Moses to make them His priest over Israel, but attached something called “consecration and Holiness” as the wisdom to apply their hearts and lives to, from generation to generation, to see His word come to pass in their lives, from generation to generation.
Sadly, a generation arose that failed to do that, and the prophecy failed in that generation. That was the generation of the son of Eli.
The Bible says:
“ Now Eli was very old, but he was aware of what his sons were doing to the people of Israel. He knew, for instance, that his sons were seducing the young women who assisted at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
Eli said to them, “I have been hearing reports from all the people about the wicked things you are doing. Why do you keep sinning? You must stop, my sons! The reports I hear among the Lord’s people are not good.
If someone sins against another person, God can mediate for the guilty party. But if someone sins against the Lord, who can intercede?” But Eli’s sons wouldn’t listen to their father, for the Lord was already planning to put them to death.
1 Samule 2:22-25 NLT
What we see in this scripture is a terrible moral failure on the path of these servants of God. The same thing we are having in church today, which is why so many local churches are having Ichabod as their spiritual atmosphere.
THERE IS NO GLORY OF GOD AS OF OLD IN CHURCH TODAY.
They now hype the people with many entertainment meetings called “Mega Praise Experience, the Experience, the Atmosphere” and all that. But those who do not study their Bible are not seeing that we have a problem. The early church never held this kind of meeting, yet they turned the ancient world unto the LORD.
The prophecy of God filling the end time Church with His glory seems to have failed in every local church. Sadly, those who call wealth God’s glory, are not seeing that.
They do not see that the Church is having an Ichabod spiritual atmosphere. They do not see that the church is naked, blind, and wretched despite its earthly riches and private jets. Yes, the prophecy has failed in our days like it did in the days of Eli and Sons because many End Time Levites are not applying their hearts and lives unto the wisdom of consecration and holiness.
Now, the sons of Eli did not listen to their father and things became very bad. The Bible says:
“Therefore, the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I promised that your branch of the tribe of Levi would always be my priests. But I will honor those who honor me, and I will despise those who think lightly of me.
The time is coming when I will put an end to your family, so it will no longer serve as my priests. All the members of your family will die before their time. None will reach old age.
You will watch with envy as I pour out prosperity on the people of Israel. But no members of your family will ever live out their days. The few not cut off from serving at my altar will survive, but only so their eyes can go blind and their hearts break, and their children will die a violent death.
And to prove that what I have said will come true, I will cause your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, to die on the same day!
1 Samuel 2:30-34 NLT
Sadly, every word we just read in this scripture came to pass and that household was wiped away. A prophecy whose standard of fulfillment is not upheld will fail, when it fails there could be casualties. That is the lesson to draw from this story, and that is the word of the LORD to us today!!
Finally, understand that if the word of the LORD over your life is the same as the Levites, if it is for you to be God’s spokesperson on earth, who teaches, preaches or do anything on His altar for Him, the same prophecy is applied. Holiness and consecration is the only way you can fulfill the prophecy.
Time to bow the knee and pray, time to seek the LORD to help us all live according to the standard He has set for the fulfillment of His prophecies over our lives. Amen
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!
“May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion;
May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose. We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
