THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 21ST FEBRUARY 2026)

“So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time, that he might tell the king the interpretation.

Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.”

Daniel 2:16-19 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 52ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

Again, I want to say Glory be to God for the successful 40 days of the blessing. We bless the LORD God for filling our hearts with His word and grace during those days of prophetic Eagle nesting. I just hope all who were part of that meeting will remain awake in truth until Jesus comes. Amen!!!

One of the major things I took away from those 40 days, and 57 sessions is the responsibility that is resting on each generation of believers. Each generation has a role to play in God’s plan for their times and age before their days are either cut short or over. Each person in the generation has prophecies to actualize. Life is best lived with these Bible truths at heart.

Our devotional text spoke about Daniel and how he saved or served his generation according to the will of God. He and others left us with a pattern to follow, a purpose to pursue, and a divine light on a generation to serve or save. We were born to serve our generation according to God’s will. Let no one tell you otherwise.

God never created you for you. That is why you diminish in life anytime you begin to live for you, instead of for Him.

You will either be poor in life or be rich with the prosperity of the wicked if you live for you. You will even marry the wrong person, do the wrong things, serve other gods, follow the wrong life information, worship in the wrong church, and maybe have children the wrong way, if you live for you instead of for Him.

YOU WILL NEVER FIND A PLACE IN THE BIBLE THAT TEACHES THAT GOD CREATED US FOR US.

Bible truth echoed in each Bible page that God did not create us for us. God created us for Him. The journey into true life on earth begins with an understanding that you were not created for you, and a desire to live for who you were created for – God Almighty. The Bible says:

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Revelation 4:11 AKJV

You were created for God’s pleasure! Yes, every one of us was created for God not for us. Everything within us was created for God not for us.

The blood in our vein, the soundness of our mind, the air in our lungs, our regular and healthy heartbeats, the proper functionality of our excretory, respiratory and reproductive systems, all exist for that very purpose, that we live for GOD not for us.

That is why they break down, sometimes without repairs when we use them to live for us. God only sustain people who live for Him, not those who live for themselves. He said in His word:

“And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.”

Exodus 23:25-27 AKJV

The promises of GOD in this scripture are not for people who live for themselves but people who live for God, His plans, purposes, will and ways, serving their generation according to His will. The scripture shows that sometimes we do not need prayers to walk in earthly blessings, see God take sickness away from us, or watch Him destroy any form of barrenness in our lives.

WHEN WE BEGIN TO LIVE FOR HIM, ALL THAT WILL BEGIN TO HAPPEN.

We will begin to watch Him put our fear in the hearts of our enemies and watch them turn their backs on us. In other words, escape for their lives. We will see victories that we never dreamt possible and find great blessings in an accursed earth.

We will live in sound health. God’s grace will rest on our critical body organs and systems to keep them functioning optimally. It will rest on our respiratory system, our excretory systems, our nervous system etc. as we live for why we were created. (which is, serving our generation according to His will and living for Him).

Friend, if you are not living for God and serving this generation according to His will, you are wasting your existence on this earth. The Bible teaches that our lives will worth nothing in the eyes of eternity if we do not spend them doing the things that were truly assigned to us by the LORD Jesus Christ, the Judge of the whole earth and governor among the nations.

Sadly, many live their days doing the things assigned to them by a system, a tradition, an ambition, a circumstance, a care of this world like desire to be rich, relocate to a foreign nation for greener pastures, or have a better marriage or a family, which are noble but can be dangerous to an eternal destiny, if not done in God’s immediate present will.

People who waste their existence on earth can be recruited by the system to serve other purposes and waste their lives on them. They can be recruited to serve in the government while that’s not their place, work for a living somewhere, or engage in one ungodly service or the other.

IN SIMPLE TERMS, THEY CAN RECRUIT TO SERVE THEIR BELLY.

Sadly, I have seen great warriors of GOD recruited by promising human systems to serve their belly. Some ended up with short lives, and untold destruction in moments. Those whose lives was not cut short, got ensnared in things with great pleasure and earthly fulfillment but no eternal value.

Once you are ensnared in things with great pleasure and earthly fulfilment, you will begin to find or establish fulfilment in them and not be able to get out of them no matter how much of no eternal value they are. If you establish a sense of fulfillment in what you should not, you might lose your eyes like Samson and perish like one of the fallen princes.

The greatest snare of Satan is a financial freedom, a marriage, a job, a satisfying relationship, a beautiful workplace and a life that is full of pleasure and earthly fulfilment without any aorta of eternal value. Sadly, many do not care. They just call it God because it is good.

They forget, the fact that it is good does not mean it is God. A good meal can kill you, but God’s meal does not kill. Living like soldiers in active service for the LORD and making sure we are not entangled in the affairs of this life, is the ideal way of life these end times. The Bible teaches that:

“No soldier in active service gets entangled in the [ordinary business] affairs of civilian life; [he avoids them] so that he may please the one who enlisted him to serve.”

2 Timothy 2:4 AMP

The best way not to be ensnared in these dangerous traps of the enemy is to avoid anything with no eternal value, no matter how enriching, beautiful, fulfilling, or pleasurable it might be. Avoid a job, a marriage, a financial venture, a church, an offer or anything that will not contribute to your eternal life.

If we do, our hearts will not be stollen. We will know why we are here on earth, and not only know why we are here, but also live to fulfill it.

The time to be a soldier in active service for the LORD is now!! The time to endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ is now. The time to reject any prosperity that will deny us a better resurrection is now. It is my prayer that we continue to find mercy and momentum to live for Him not for us. Amen and amen.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY.

“God, you are my God; early will I seek you; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.

So I have looked for you in the sanctuary, to see your power and your glory. Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. Thus I will bless you while I live; I will lift up my hands in your name.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise you with joyful lips. When I remember you on my bed, I meditate on you in the night watches. Because you have been my help, therefore in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice.

My soul follows close behind you; your right hand upholds me.”

Psalms 63:1-8 NKJV
