TODAY’S DEVOTION (MONDAY 23RD FEBRUARY 2026)
“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”
Joshua 1:5-6 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 54TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
We have seen 54 days and nights of God’s sustaining power. To God be the glory!!! What a mighty God, we serve!! Heaven and earth adore Him, angels bow before Him, what a mighty God we serve.
Today we will be refreshing our minds on a Bible truth that was responsible for the great exploit God’s warriors of righteousness carried out for God in their days and times. That truth is captured in the word, “Courage.” I hope we are ready to feed.
To start with, let me say this; I don’t think anyone can become anything significant in life without courage. Courage is one thing that should not be missing in anyone’s life. If it is missing, you have no lethal key to success in life. Life without courage is already a failed life, no matter how or where you live it.
It takes courageous men and women to accomplish significant things in life or in God’s kingdom. In fact, if you will ever enjoy divine backing in life, you must be courageous, because God does not back fearful men or women. God only back courageous men and women. You see that in the book of Jeremiah the first chapter.
It was one courageous man that took out a giant that had defiled the army of the LORD for 40 days. Everyone heard the roar of the giant and was stricken with fear. But not this one man. God backed him because he was courageous. That man was David.
He stepped into a battlefield he had no experience in, and instead of being afraid of losing his life like everyone was, he went courageously and unlocked a great backing of the Spirit that helped him to kill the giant like a dog.
THE POWER OF HEAVEN IS USUALLY BEHIND COURAGEOUS PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH LIVES THAT ARE TAILORED TO DIVINE MOVES.
Take courage out of such people, and you will take Heavenly backing from them. There comes a time in a believer’s life that God only stands with him or her if he is courageous. Yes, there comes a time in the life of a disciple of Jesus Christ, that if they are not courageous, they will lose the presence of the LORD.
God has never stood with fearful men and women. Whenever He meets them, He will tell them, “Fear not.” If they obey and become courageous you will see Him standing by them to bring down the greatest oppositions before them, but if they do not, you will see His power departing from them.
It is through courage that we become all that God destined us to be. It is through courage that our Destinies as believers are fulfilled.
If there is any assignment to carry out in God, you must be courageous to carry it out. If there is any vision or mission to execute, courage must be the driving force behind your moves and actions. When Moses was sent to Egypt to unleash his destiny as a deliverer, the boldness, strength and courage he used in executing his assignment was what brought the arm of the LORD on the gods of Egypt.
When we say strength, we are referring to the strength that comes from your faith in God’s power to save and deliver you even from the paw of the lion.
In other words, the courage in your heart and the faith in your spirit that trust God for any necessary divine intervention that might be needed. That was the strength Moses stepped into Egypt with. That is the strength you will need to step into any program of God for your life or live any life God has called you to live.
Divine courage is the fruit of a man’s faith in God. That is why every man of faith has courage as a trait. Faith comes by hearing from God. No one hears from God and not exhume courage.
It was faith in God’s backing that made David to stand confidently before Goliath and executed him with his words before the man was actually killed. Courageous men will first kill their enemies with the sword of their words before God move in to actualize what they have just said.
COURAGE WAS THE KEY OF DAVID; IT REMAINS THE CONQUEROR’S KEY IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE OF LIFE.
As believers, we do not belong to the family of giants, we are rather giant killers. We will never fulfill our destiny as giant killers if we are fearful! David represents so much, when it comes to kingdom matters like the virtues and values, he developed to be who he was, in his days of full strength in God.
He conquered the Jebusites, who were some of the fiercest Demonic warriors of that time. They could disappear in battle, and no mortal sword could kill them. But David went against them courageously and got the backing from God. The rest is History.
The Bible says.
And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “You shall not come in here; but the blind and the lame will repel you,” thinking, “David cannot come in here.” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David).
Now David said on that day, “Whoever climbs up by way of the water shaft and defeats the Jebusites (the lame and the blind, who are hated by David’s soul), he shall be chief and captain.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.”
Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. So David went on and became great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.
2 Samuel 5:6-10 NKJV
David would not have unlocked his greatness if he was fearful. He stood face to face with these terrific warriors of darkness and conquered them by the power of the LORD. You are the next on God’s list.
AS WE BRING THIS TO A CLOSE, ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOUR PROSPERITY IN LIFE IS BEHIND THE LIFE CHALLENGES YOU ARE NOT COURAGEOUS TO FACE.
Yes, your greatness is hidden in the things God designed you to destroy which you are afraid to. God is saying to you this morning, like He said to Jeremiha years back, “Do not be dismayed and break down at the sight of their faces, lest I confound you before them and permit you to be overcome.”
When it comes to us facing the enemy to unleash our divine destinies, either as God’s prophets, apostles, pastors, or whatever, God’s backing will be with us if we will stand. It is the way we stand that God will stand. I urge you therefore to stand on this word from the LORD. He said:
“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”

This word was originally spoken to Joshua, but Joshua is no more. We are here!! The word is now for us. Use it daily until you break from any domineering fear. Use it until the spirit of faith enters you and all fear fades in the light it beams on your soul. Use it until you see the words literally fulfilled in your life.
I am fully persuaded that if we make this devotional our meditation and respond to it by becoming bold and strong in the release of our divine destiny, no man will be able to stand before us all the days of our life. As God was with our fathers so will He be with us! Amen and amen.
