TODAY’S DEVOTION (MONDAY 23RD MARCH 2026)
“See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. Your sons shall make haste; Your destroyers and those who laid you waste Shall go away from you.” Isaiah 49:16-17 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 82ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
Our God has been faithful to us. It’s been a year that is full of the manifestation of His love, amazing goodness, and unfailing power. He is the only God who delights in His people.
He delights in blessing His people, granting them help in times of trouble, showing them mercy when in distress, giving them breakthroughs when things are difficult, counseling them in their night seasons, direction at crossroads, commanding light to shine out of their darkness, and filling their lives with His presence when they consecrate for it.
That is the God we serve. Blessed are the people who have this God as their God!!
He rewards every service that is according to His will, blesses every giving that aligns with His word, sends the fire of His glory into every sacrifice that advances His kingdom, honors every faith of His own, satisfies those who honor His principles early with His goodness and mercies, filling them with covenant blessings.
He does these things and much more than words can fully capture, filling men with awe. No one serves this God and not come to a glorious ending in time and a beautiful life in eternity. No one fully serves Him and sets their heart on earthly things. Everyone who serves Him in Spirit and in truth, looks for that City with foundations, whose maker and builder is God.
Everyone who serves Him enjoys the performance of precious promises. He said in our devotional text today:
“See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. Your sons shall make haste; Your destroyers and those who laid you waste Shall go away from you.” Isaiah 49:16-17 NKJV
This is a heritage for those who serve Him. It is one of His precious promises in store for them all. If you are serving Him in Spirit and in Truth, this is one of your heritages, a precious promise to be performed in your life. Understand that our lives are only as beautiful as the precious promises of the LORD performed in them.
MEANING, IF THERE IS NO PERFORMANCE OF GOD’S PROMISES IN YOUR LIFE, IT WILL LACK THAT BEAUTY IT SHOULD HAVE.
Besides making our lives beautiful when performed, God’s promises are also responsible for His moves in our lives. In other words, God’s moves in our lives are governed by His promises. That is why if we are asking Him to do a thing in our lives, we must stand on a promise He made concerning that thing to pray. If we do not do that, we may pray but get no result.
It is when we pray standing on precious promises that we receive answers, because He is bound to perform His promises.
Next, this devotional is taking us to the precious promise of the LORD found in Isaiah 49:16-17. The first thing to glean from it is the truth that our lives are inscribed on the palms of His hands, which puts our walls continually before Him. That should give each one of us confidence in life, even if we do not have anyone in our lives to lean on.
We should understand that there is a good God who has us inscribed on the palms of His hands and is watching over our walls, not just daily, but every second from a timeless realm. To inscribed means to engrave. It is an implication of a permanent mark, something that cannot be removed by time, or any other factor. Something permanent!!
That scripture therefore teaches of the durability of God’s commitment to us. It tells us that it is permanent. It cannot be obliterated by even our sin, foolishness, or carelessness. If it can, then there will be no hope for us coming back to Him after a fall or a careless act.
Yes, if it could, then there would have been no story about the prodigal son in the Bible. But it cannot, which is why the Bible is full of men and women who came back after a consequential fall, act of foolishness or carelessness. The bible is the only spiritual book that gives us hope when we read because of the stories of the lives that lost it all but made it at the end because they came back.
The opportunity to return back to God no matter what happens teaches us that we are indeed inscribed on the pals of His hands.
IT TEACHES US THAT GOD’S COMMITMENT TO US WHILE IN THIS LIFE IS PERMANENT.
David came back after the Beersheba fall and was accepted by the LORD because he was inscribed on the palms of God’s hands. Samson came back after the Delilah fall and was accepted by the LORD because he was inscribed on God’s palms. Peter can back after denying ever knowing the LORD and was accepted and made one of the eminent apostles of Jesus Christ because he was inscribed on the palms of God’s hands.
The LORD will never close His door to a returning sinner because God’s ultimate call to the lost world has been, “return to me.” The Gospel is actually a message that ask men to return to the LORD, their maker. People go to hell for not returning to the LORD after their fall. Your eternal destiny lies in returning to the LORD. No one who refuses to return will make it to the pearly gates of Heaven.
Friend, God’s commitment to us is permanent, it is unchangeable. After departing from Him, He awaits you every day to return. He sits on His throne waiting anxiously for your return. He waits because you are inscribed on the palms of His hands, and nothing can change that. So, return!!
The Old Testament believers knew how to return. So many who made it to the hall of faith in Hebrews 11 returned; they came back to the LORD after one careless consequential act of sin, or foolishness. They returned and left a testimony for us. Friend, heaven will be full of people who came back to God after a season of a fall into sin, a foolish act, or spiritual carelessness.
The next part of that scripture, the scripture of our devotional text, is about a precious promise of the LORD. It says, “Your sons shall make haste; Your destroyers and those who laid you waste Shall go away from you.” This is a precious promise that will unlock so much in our lives if performed.
THE WORD SONS IN THIS PROMISE IS “BUILDERS” NOT JUST OFFSPRING.
It is a scripture of God’s promises to send us builders. The beautiful thing is, when they arrive, they will come with something that sends destroyers away from us. Glory be to God!!! The key to unlocking this promise lies in two things, the first is in returning to the LORD, if we have departed from Him.
You find whoever returned to the LORD in genuine repentance receiving a times of refreshing that includes great men and women brought into the persons life by the LORD to serve as builders. They come to build our faith, finances, marital lives, social lives etc. depending on what broke down.
Their arrival usually signal the departure of those who may have destroyed us.
It is my desire that the LORD send you builders every year of your life on earth to perform His good word in your life, in Jesus precious name. That brings us to the second key that unlocks the promise, and that key is prayer. Yes, prayer!!
The Bible says ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. That He who asks receives, he who seeks finds, and the one that knocks will have the door open to them (Read Matthew 7:7-8). Prayer is the spiritual survival kit of the righteous. It is one way of breathing in and out spiritually.
Yes, it is our way of breathing in answers to life needs and questions and breathing out life problems.
Standing on God’s promise in our devotional text and Asking the LORD to send builders into your life and remove destroyers is a major thing to do as a Christian, else you may not have that beautiful promise of the LORD fulfill in your life. There are destiny destroyers everywhere, but righteous prayers can build God’s presence around us and prevent them from coming into the space of our lives!
Understand that God use destiny partners to help His own unleash their destinies, and Satan use destiny destroyers to help God’s children defeat their destinies. But standing on the Promises of the LORD in our devotional text and seeking the LORD in prayer to perform it can save us from destiny destroyers.
Do not forget, our lives are only as beautiful as the precious promises of the LORD that are performed in them. It’s a new Day for you in Jesus precious name. AMEN!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY
“Your sons shall make haste; your destroyers and those who laid you waste shall go away from you. Lift up your eyes, look around and see; all these gather together and come to you.”
As I live,” says the Lord, “You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament, and bind them on you as a bride does.
“For your waste and desolate places, and the land of your
destruction, will even now be too small for the inhabitants; and those who swallowed you up will be far away” Isaiah 49:17-19 NKJV
