TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 27TH MARCH 2026)
“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 86TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
What a prayer we find in our devotional text. It is one of the secrets of strategic victories. If the will of God is done in our lives as written in Heaven, what was pre-planned by God for our lives, will be done. The prayer of the righteous is always carrying in its core, the “thy will be done” impact.
It’s a new day from the LORD; we thank Him for waking us up this morning. The Bible says to those who are joined to the living there is hope. That a living dog is better than a dead lion. You might be a dog in moral nature, but if you are alive, you have hope of becoming a saint of the most high God in moral nature.
Having a life to live is one of the greatest gifts a man can get from God.
With it, one has hope to keep fighting towards perfection and ending well in Christ. Yes, with the gift of life, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We can amend our ways, restructure our lives, redirect our priorities and receive the mercy to make better choices.
We thank God for the gift of life, and one thing He does to help us use the gift very well is to feed us with His word daily.
There is a word from the LORD for us today. It is about the Great Submission. We have the great Commission and the great submission. The Great submission is about bending the will of our knees and saying to God, “thy will be done.” So, God want to speak to us about that.
A life that is lived that way, may be oppressed, depressed, suppressed or severely attacked by men or devils, but will always come our victorious. The thy-will-be-done kind of life, cannot be defeated by the gates of hell. It is a kind of life Satan does not want to be present on earth, because it neutralizes his works beyond repairs.
Everyone who lived the thy-will-be-done kind of life in human history left behind them a manifestation of the Kingdom, the power and glory of God in ways that none has never seen on earth.
Some did things that spanned from time to eternity, and led lives that were full of challenges that never consumed them but melted into glorious stories of victories, restorations, faith, exploits, and everlasting joy.
OTHERS CARIED OUT AMAZING INCURSIONS INTO THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS AND LEFT A TERRIBLE TRAIL OF DEFEAT THERE.
In other words, they did things that defeated Satan and his demons in ways that are still discussed in Satan’s kingdom. Jesus in the days of His flesh, lived the thy-will-be-done kind of life, and generated a power that destroyed the devil, handing us a pattern to walk in and a victory to celebrate from time to eternity.
His life tells us of the power one can generate on earth when they bow their lives to the LORD and say to Him, “thy will be done.”
Friends, God wants us to be men and women who bow the knee and say to Him, “thy will be done.” The reason is because, that is the most effective way His kingdom breaks out on earth to take down the works of darkness and establish His works in our lives, families, nations, etc.
People who do not live the thy-will-be-done kind of life, are unknowingly functioning as assets of the kingdom of darkness, because the kingdom can only prosper on earth when God’s will is not being done. Some of these people are the very people God looks at and say, “thy will be done.”
N. C. Lewis once said “there are two kinds of people on the face of the earth. Those who bend their knee to GOD and say, “thy will be done” and those who refuse to bend their knees to God, and He say to them “thy will be done.” May we not get to the point in life where God will look at us and say, “thy will be done.”
Sadly, mankind is blind to the terrible things that happen when we do not bend our knees to the LORD to say to Him, “thy will be done” and He in-turn say to us, “thy will be done.”
For instance, over three million Jews left Egypt for the promised land, riding on the wings of a strong prophetic grace. But only two made it to the promised land, the rest who made it were born in the wilderness, and those who were below 20 years when the LORD said to them all, “thy will be done.”
THOSE WHO DID NOT MAKE IT DIED IN THE WILDERNESS.
They died because the LORD said to them, “thy will be done.” Could it be that your life is not what God created it to be because you are yet to bow your knee to say to the LORD, your will be done? Could it be you are not progressing in life because you have allowed your choices to bring you to the place where God looked at you and said, “okay, thy will be done?”
Could it be that though very busy in religion, you are yet to live enter the thy-will-be-done kind of life? Could it be that things are wrong with you financially because you were doing God’s will with your money and now you do other will with your money?
Could it be that your son, daughter, or spouse is suffering or diminishing because the enemy is attacking you successfully, and the attacks are working because God has said to you, “thy will be done?” This is the time to sit down and consider your ways!!
I reiterate again that if we do not bow the knee and say to the LORD, “thy will be done,” we have said to Him, “our will be done.” And when we say to the LORD over time, “our will be done” by not bowing our will (knee) to say to Him, “thy will be done” one day, He will look at us and say, “thy will be done” and our lives will begin to go contrary.
Sadly, when that happens, we will begin to live a life that runs in the same direction as the devils, making it possible for us to walk in curses, darkness and all kinds of moral decay and life sorrows.
As we bring this to a close, understand that everything about us will shut down when we do not bend the knee of our will to say to God “thy will be done” on daily bases. If our will are not subject to Christ, His word, ways and will, we are in trouble. It will not be long; we will be bearing the cost. Nothing in our life will be working, no matter how we pray, fast, give or attend church.
If it prolongs without repentance, we will be tempted to go worship other gods (embrace ungodly, sinful, or occultic ways to get money, marriage, etc.) and further complicate our problems.
Understand that God does not want us to live that kind of life. He does not want us groaning in sorrows and pains. He wants us to be blessed, built up and established in life. But that only happen if we bend the knee of our will to Him and say with our lives, “thy will be done.”
It is my prayer that His word remains a light and a lamp in our hearts. Amen and amen.
