TODAY’S DEVOTION (MONDAY 30TH MARCH 2026)
So, the Lord said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”
Then Abraham answered and said, “Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?” So He said, “If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.”
And he spoke to Him yet again and said, “Suppose there should be forty found there?” So He said, “I will not do it for the sake of forty.”
Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?” So He said, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”
And he said, “Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose twenty should be found there?” So He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty.”
Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?” And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”
So, the Lord went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place. Genesis 18:26-33 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 89TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
We give glory to the LORD God Almighty for the gospel of our LORD and savior Jesus Christ preached to us and for our salvation that sprang forth from the same. We thank Him for another day that He has given us to live and serve our generation according to His will.
Indeed, it is out of His mercies and miracles that we are not consumed. Our God have been faithful to us, and we will not take it for granted. You will not take the faithfulness and mercies of the LORD in your life for granted if you fully understand what would have happened to you if they were not there in the first place.
Today We will be looking at the role of the righteous as the salt or preservatives of the earth. Our devotional text is clear on why God wanted to spare Sodom from divine judgment. We saw why He wanted to spare the city from being wiped away. The text says:
THIS SCRIPTURE MADE IT CLEAR THAT GOD WAS WILLING TO SPARE THE CITY IF HE FINDS RIGHTEOUS PERSONS IN THE CITY.
This is what makes the righteous the preservatives of the earth. It is the presence of the righteous that is preserving our cities, nations and people, from certain spiritual disasters that would have broken out in them. The presence of the righteous restrains the devil, and his works. It also restrains God for pouring His fury on people.
Come to think of the vision of the devil, he knows what the presence of the righteous do to his works and influence. If there is anyone who wants the righteous out of this world that person is the devil and his host. He wants bearers of the true light to be quenched so that his darkness will fill the souls of men.
In our devotional text, you find out that God was looking for righteous men to use in winning back the souls that were trapped in the darkness of the city. Through the intercession of Abraham, we found out that there was none. That was what led to the destruction of the city.
The greatest assets of Heaven on earth are righteous men. God wants them planted in every family, village, town, city, nation and regions of the world so that such places can be preserved. He wants righteous preachers planted in every church also. It is the presence of the righteous that sends out the energy that is required for quenching the works of Satan.
If a family is under the energy of darkness or the works of Satan, God’s ultimate plan for that family will not be to send prophets to uproot what they call charms or evil trees from their homes.
That is Satan’s confusing strategy to keep the people in bondage. God’s ultimate plan will be to raise one righteous man or woman in that family that will function as His preservative in that home. He will get a family member saved or plant him or her in a righteous church, then use that person’s presence to preserve the house.
SO, IF YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE SERVING GOD IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH IN YOUR FAMILY, HANG ON THERE NO MATTER THE COST.
Your family members may be swayed by the enemy to persecute you, which he always does, or to make your dedication to God very tough, do not bow to the pressure and cease from upholding the faith, stand strong and remain unconditionally committed to the LORD.
If you allow what they may be saying to eliminate your faith and your following of what is true and of Christ, which they may not understand, you will be shocked when the enemy will begin to take them out, because you will no longer supply the spiritual energy they need to survive his assaults.
It is very dangerous when a family cannot find one righteous person among them, but just unsaved people or some religious Christians who visits this mountain and the other, but do not live a righteous life before God.
That family will be flooded by the evil one with all he can find in the pits of hell. Curses will be parading the family, demons will be feasting on the destiny of people, and no good will be coming out of that home, leaving them at the mercy of charlatans and false prophets.
The misfortune of any family can be changed by one righteous person God can find. One righteous man or woman the LORD can use as His temple in the Spirit, His altars for the deliverance of the entire house.
If you find yourself in a good Church, a church that is rooted in sound doctrine, walking in the power of the Spirit, press into God to become that one righteous man or woman that God can use to preserve a family, city, town, nation or region. That is the message of today’s devotional.
As we bring this to a close, permit us to add that it is also very dangerous when a city, town or people cannot find righteous people among them, a people of God to keep the true light burning. Satan will fill such places with his works.
WHAT WE KNOW AS “THE DARK AGES” HAPPENED BECAUSE OF THAT.
Bearers of the true light were extinct, and darkness set in until the reformation. Stories had it that the last set of bearers of the true light in that generation lost the support of men, and the true light of the gospel finally went out, and the dark ages set in.
The eternal result was terrible! The world was in moral darkness for years – with millions dying and going to hell both from the dead Church that existed then, and the dying world. The darkness prevailed until mercy spoke and men like John Huss, John Knox, John Calvin, Martin Luther etc. caught a ray of light from the throne room on salvation and sparked a revolution that we know today as the reformation.
We are standing on the threshold of the finest hour of righteousness. God is doing something on the face of the earth.
But righteous men and women are needed, People that will stand with the banner of truth and allow Heaven to use them in spreading the true light of Jesus Christ and the energy of righteousness across families, villages, towns, Cities, nations and regions to penetrate darkness and turn things right for God. May God, find you worthy for this course!! Amen.
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!
“Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord had not spoken. The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger.
So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:28-30 NKJV
