THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 1ST May 2026)

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:17-20 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 121ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

Glory be to God who has made it possible for us to see another month of the year. It is the LORD’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight. The LORD have been kind, compassionate, tolerant, benevolent, and merciful. More so, He has been our wonderful God, and an everlasting Father to us.

We have seen His provision, protection, revelation, peace, progress, and how He answers our prayers. He has been our healing balm, our refuge, our life and our everything. To Him belong the glory!! Amen.

The 121st day of the year happens to be the 1st day of the 5th month of this eventful year of strategic victory. Five is the number of God’s grace. What a prophetic flow of God’s grace the month is going to be to those who believe.

Yes, to those who believe, because what you believe matters.

God may want to do something in your life, but if your faith is somewhere else, that thing will never be done. Doubt is faith in another direction. If your faith is in another direction, the things God want to do in your life cannot be done.

Faith in what God wants to do will get it done, no matter how long it may take. Faith is a confidence assurance, conviction, and total trust in God and His promises even without tangible proofs. Doubts look for tangible proof, faith is believing without physical or tangible proof.

People struggle to believe because their hearts are always looking for tangible proof. They want to see it with their physical senses, touch it with their physical senses, or feel it with their physical senses, before they believe. That is faith in the wrong direction.

Faith in the right direction is believing just because God said it and waiting for it by pressing into the word until it happens.

IT IS WHEN YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE WILL BE A PERFORMANCE.

Believing is more than an intellectual agreement with God’s word or will. To believe involves an active reliance in God’s character who does not lie and is bond to do what He says. It is based on reasonable spiritual or invisible evidence and trust in God’s established character.

The Bible says:

Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45 NKJV

This scripture was originally to Mary, the source of the flesh or body of Jesus. Now it is to all of us who call upon the name of the LORD, members of His spiritual body on earth. Aren’t you glad that you are part of this beautiful body of Christ on earth? Glory to God Almighty!!!

The month will be for us a month of His Grace, reaching us in all direction, to help us, save us, build us, provide for us, protect us, give us good things, continue to give us the power to live right and sin no more, enablement to pray for the sick and they recover, and surplus power to be sons of God in a wicked world. But we must believe.

Even Mary, had to believe in the LORD to do with her what he wanted to do with her life. There will be no performance where there is faith in the wrong direction. So many have said they believe, but you do not see a performance. The reason is because yes, they believe but their faith was in the wrong direction. Let your faith not be in the wrong direction this month.

The LORD will make it your month of flowing in His grace, if you believe, then demonstrate your faith with intense pursuit of the promised grace in daily prayer, weekly fasting, scheduled times with the word, and rolling back your thoughts from sin, serving the LORD by praying or ministering to others, and not forsaking the assembling of the brethren.

IF THE GRACE OF GOD RUNS OUR LIVES, NO EVIL WILL BE ABLE TO OVERRUN IT.

Believing in His grace to run our lives this month is very important. His grace is the door that opens for us to have in our lives, whatever He has promised us, including His power. Our devotional text has one thing He promised He will give us.

A portion of the text says:

“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:17-19 NKJV

From the entire text, we can see that God does not wants us to be subjects of demons. He wants demons to be our subjects in His name. In other words, He wants the demons and all they do to be subject to us in His name. The word us, implies even our children, and all that concerns us. What a noble will of God for us it is!!

If a man is a subject of demons, his life will be ruined. Nothing he does will ever result in good. He will live a life of struggle; his family and finances will be scattered or in perils. He will live a life of pain, disappointment and lots more on earth.

God gives power so that demons and all that are against us can be our subjects and not the other way round. Hallelujah!!

The LORD does not want us to be subjects of sin, Satan or his demons this month or any other month. He made it impossible for that to happen when He died on the cross. Now, His ultimate power has been released to actualize it in our lives. We are to seek it by seeking His presence daily.

YES, WE ARE TO MAKE THIS MONTH OUR MONTH OF SEEKING HIS POWER AND SEEKING IT IN GREATER DIMENSIONS.

If God’s power is not at work in your life, a lot of other things will be at work. Sin will be at work. Sickness and diseases will be at work. Lack and poverty will be at work. Evil dreams will flood your soul while you are asleep. You will find yourself having sex in the dream, eating in the dream, and getting defiled by visible or invisible faces. Nothing you do with your hands will work.

If God’s miracle wonder working power is not in your lives, men and women of wicked intent will successfully be at work in your life, hindering you and creating problems for you.

The weapons they form against you will always prosper, the arrows they shoot at you will always get to you, the lies they talk about you will always hinder you. The spells, curses or demons the witches invoke against you, will always descend on your life. But if God’s power is at work in our lives, we will be sleeping and no evil determined against us will ever work in our lives.

Again, I say make this month a month of seeking God’s presence until His power break forth in your life. Believe God for an outbreak of His power then go ahead and seek it daily before going out to face your day.

Do not forget, the power of God is the ideal spiritual document to use in negotiating your way into a peaceful and prosperous life on earth. It is the only thing that have been missing in your life that is why your progress has not been significant. The Bible says even answers to prayers is according to the power at work in our lives.

So, seek the power of God more than you seek food. Seek the power of God more than you seek money. Seek the power of God more than you seek relationships. Seek the power of God more than you seek sleep or comfort. Sacrifice your sleep for it.

Sacrifice your food for it. Sacrifice unhealthy relationships for it. Sacrifice all you can for it, and you will see it running your life and bringing you a better life than what you have now. Happy new month!

May the LORD give you peace this month!! Amen

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!!

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:1-2 NKJV
