TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (WEDNESDAY 05TH August 2026)
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 217TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!
We thank God for giving us another day to be alive.
How great is His goodness towards us who fear Him. No end to the compassion that He shows us each day. That is why we face each day of our lives banking on the mercy that comes from His presence. We believe in the power of His cross and are sure we are hidden away in His love and sheltered from harm. Amen and amen.
Yesterday the LORD began speaking to us about FAITH.
If there is anything in our lives that usually come under attack, that thing is our faith. We learned that if the devil attack a believer’s marriage, finances, or body with illness, the target is the person’s faith. Job’s attack was primarily to destroy his faith in God. Here is what the enemy said to God;
“So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” Job 1:9-11 NKJV
The term “he will curse you to your face” speaks of a lost of faith in God. All the devil does to us is to make us curse God or His church to His face. Sometimes he will make you curse the preacher in your heart, due to adversity of life, indirectly cursing God to His face.
All attacks of the enemy has a vision of destroying our faith in God, His ways, and His will, and make us curse God to His face, either with our actions or mindset.
To curse God and die also means to renounce your faith in anger and invite death to end unbearable sufferings. Is that not what many are doing?
They renounce their faith in anger due to sufferings or unperformed promises of God and then go to take actions that invited spiritual death, all in anger and furry. When Satan attacks you, it is to make you do that. I think I need to teach this in full in church one day!!
UNDERSTAND THAT IF WE RENOUNCE OUR FAITH, OUR SPIRITUAL LIFE IS GONE.
A believer’s faith is the healthy way he can stay alive; it’s like air in a man’s lungs. Let me say it in another way; faith in a believer’s heart is like air in a man’s lungs. It is with our faith we create things on earth that have been created in heaven, and only us can do that.
Satan hates people of faith because he cannot create but they can.
He can only make use of what have been created. But with the instrumentality of faith, a man or women of faith can create something out of nothing. In other words, he can create something physical out of something spiritual. We can create a marriage, a business, a spiritual life, a family, and whatever is in God’s will for our lives.
Faith helps us to create by seeing, touching, or feeling things that exist in the Spirit’s realm through prayer, and birthing them on earth through hard work, Bible truths led choices and Holy Spirit led action. Which is why genuine faith will show us what action to take to bring things that have been created in the realm of GOD down to our realm.
God made prayer a catalyst of faith, because things cannot be revealed to our spiritual senses until we have prayed effectively in the Holy Ghost – most times by speaking in tongues. The Bible says,
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV
Friend, any prayer that is not activating your faith by bringing you into God’s prophetic realm is a form of godliness that has no power. True prayer mounts pressure on God to reveal Himself.
Such prayers are Holy Spirit enabled, not ‘holy’ flesh led. They have a way of bringing us into a realm where God can be revealed to us.
When we get there, God will begin to reveal Himself, sometimes by speaking or showing something to us. When we see what He shows us or hear what He says to us, faith will be born in is.
THAT IS THE FAITH WE LIVE BY. UNTIL IT IS BORN IN US, WE HAVE NOTHING TO LIVE BY.
This faith is created by Christ in us as we pray. Fulfilling an apostolic Christian belief that was established on the revelation of Jesus Christ to the early Church. That believe can be summarized in one proclamation that Paul made, and that proclamation is, “Christ in you the hope of glory.” Our devotional text says:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
This is the shortest devotional text in the History of our devotionals. Yet it holds an eternal truth that determines our peace on earth. If you walk by sight, you will sink. Walking by sight involves walking by what you feel, by what you see, by what people say and by all that comes from your natural senses.
These things can be helpful sometimes but other times they can be very unhelpful, and even destructive to our faith.
Walking by faith not by sight is trusting God and His unseen promises, rather than letting your daily choices guide you. It is letting what you sense in God control you instead of what you see or feel. This is the life we are called into, and the life is only possible through a prayer life that birth faith in us.
Friend, understand that it is a faith that has been born in you by the Spirit of the LORD through His words and your prayer that you can walk by.
If you look at the Church today, there is a great falling away from this kind of faith. People are being told to sleep with prophets and prophetesses for spiritual cleansing. Others are taught to drink the oil and treat it as the Holy Spirit. Many others are trained to give money for prayers, and other forms of sacrifices; using salt, water, brooms, etc. to invoke deliverance or one form of supernatural intervention or the other.
THAT IS NOT THE FAITH THAT WAS ONCE AND FOR ALL DELIVERED TO THE SAINTS. IT IS A FAITH FROM THE EVIL ONE, THE ANGEL OF LIGHT.
God is calling on the remnant, those He has preserved from these pollutions to rise! He is calling on us to rise and begin to contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. The Bible says,
“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” Jude 3 NKJV
The time to obey this call in our generation is now!
What is the message of our devotional this morning? If things are not okay with you, it is your faith that the enemy is trying to attack not really your things. God is saying, “come into the prayer room in such moments through songs of praise and thanksgiving, then pray unto me and I will reveal myself to you.”
When God reveals Himself to you during such moments, what the devil came to destroy will be rather fortified and you will come out victorious! If there is any way to contend for your personal faith during crisis, that is one way to do it.
It is my prayer that God will use these words to build you up and give you an inheritance among they that are sanctified! AMEN!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.”
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” Psalms 34:15-19 NKJV
