TODAY’S DEVOTION (Friday 27th December 2019)
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 361ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF GOING FORWARD.
Today’s devotional will be very short. I woke up late and could not write something LONG. May be because it is my immediate Younger Sister’s Birthday. Happy Birthday Juliet Peters.
Do not bother about the shortness of this devotional because sometimes the most powerful voice from Heaven comes to us through the shortest scriptures in the Bible. Like “Jesus wept” in the book of John and “Remember Lots Wife” in the book of Luke!

One day I heard Kenneth Copeland read this scripture and said, “if it did not come from God what are you doing with it” and something sparked off in me. I began to investigate my life to see if there is anything, I may be holding tightly to that did not come from God. Alas I found so money things.
Then I began to look at the scars in my Life and I found more things. They all came from my effort to hold tightly to what God did not give me. Things the flesh, the system of this world or people around me gave me.
Child of God as you cross over to 2020 according to the Gregorian calendar, always watch out for things God did not give us. Do not hold on to anyone. Do not hold on to a Church, a woman, a man, or anyone God did not give you. Do not hold on to sinful urge, crave or desire. Because God does not give us such things.
YOUR GREATEST BATTLE IN 2020 AND BEYOND WILL BE FOUGHT AROUND THINGS GOD HAS NOT GIVEN YOU THAT YOU ARE HOLDING ONTO.
There are Christians in marriages that God did not give them. But they are holding unto them, some very tightly. There are Sons of the king in Churches and under pastors God has not given them. But they are holding unto them tightly. There are people in careers that God has not given them to pursue. There are young men and women in relationships God has not authorized that they get into.
Friend, what is it that God has not given you that you are holding onto? You will never conquer the enemy in any battle that rages around things God has not given you.
If God has not given you a business and you go pursuing it, you will never be victorious in any battle the enemy throw at you to stop you from succeeding. If you go into a relationship or marriage with anyone God has not given you, you will lack divine intervention when crisis results from it.
What God has not joined together; even intensive prayers cannot keep together.
As you pass through the last days of this year, look inward and check to deal with what the LORD has not given you that you may be holding on to. That may be the reason for all the woes that may have happened to you in 2019. There are things you must not cross over with into 2020. Whatever the LORD has not given you must not cross over with you!
Our devotional text says God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and sound mind. Again, what is it that God did not give you that you are still holding tightly to? Use the few days that are left of 2019 to shake it off your life!
One of the greatest blindness that can occur in the life of a Child is blindness to the things that God has not given him or her. It is blindness and spiritual ignorant that make us hold on to things that God has not given us.
TIME TO CARRY OUT A CHECK
Satan will never allow you to let go what God has not given you because that is the only way he can have an advantage over you. He will even speak to you through dreams and visions to hold on to it most times. I have seen him use even well-meaning people to keep me in things GOD has not given me. He attempted making Jesus take what GOD has not given him on the mountain of temptation. Temptation is the flesh or the devil making us take what GOD has not given us.
For instance, when a woman sleeps with a man GOD has not given him or a man sleeps with a woman GOD has not given him in through a proper marriage, it is a sin. When you take money, GOD has not given you, it is called stealing and it brings a curse. Our destruction is always around taking things God has not given us. That was why Jesus was careful. We must be careful too. Peter Said
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 Peter 5:8
Sometimes he devours us by giving us things God has not given us or making us hold tightly to them. Anything God has not given us will destroy us. That is why he convinces us to take them. Sometimes he will tell you the things are from GOD. In fact, he will act “God” to make you take them or keep you in them if you have already taken them.
For instance, he could act “God” to stir you to walk out of a difficult marriage God wants you to stay put to, or keep you in a difficult marriage God want you to move out from. The issue is not the difficulty but the blindness to what God wants done at an immediate present.
You will be amazed at what you take to be God’s will that is not when you step into the glory of God. You may be anointed but it takes the glory to truly know and come to accurate discernment. David said,
“But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; my steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the boastful, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked…Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence…. Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end.”
UNDER THE GLORY SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS DOES NOT EXIST FOR TOO LONG.
Satan blindfolds us through our carnal passions and desires only when we are outside the glory. But when the glory comes, it strips off those passions and desire and help us see things clearly. You will not fail again in Jesus name!
I pray that as we exhaust the days God has given us in 2019, we will come into a place in His presence where blindness is stripped and spiritual eyes opened to sense the things God has not given us that we may be holding onto.
I pray the LORD speak to us in dreams and visions and show us things he has not given us that we are holding on to in Jesus precious name.
