TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Wednesday 26TH May 2021)
“When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish, and the hope of the unjust perishes.
The righteous is delivered from trouble, and it comes to the wicked instead.
The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.” Proverbs 11:7-10 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 146TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
We thank our LORD and savior Jesus Christ, the mercy seat of the condemned and the keeper of our souls, for giving us another day and keeping us from the sword of the enemy. It is out of His marvelous deeds that we are not consumed.
He has kept and watched over us, doing things in our lives that some of us do not deserve. He has been protecting us from the wicked. Unrighteous people are not to be protected from the wicked but God has protected us despite our unrighteousness. That is how deep His mercies are.
This morning we will continue with the flow we started yesterday from our book OVERCOMING WITCHCRAFT BY THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER.
If you are sincere to yourself, you will realize that from the content of what we saw yesterday, it’s clear that if you do not spend your monies to buy good books like that, you will die in the hands of ignorance. So many things people suffer from have been addressed in good books, but because they do not pursue knowledge, the remain un-necessarily in captivity.
Others wait for the book to be given to them freely knowing well that is what I do sometimes. It is a terrible spirit to be given to free things.
No one who usually wait for free things progresses in life. Yes, people who have the habit of waiting for free or cheap things have the spirit of failure running in their souls. They do not succeed in critical things. It is daring people who succeeds.
Daring people will even go and do some menial jobs to raise money for good books like that.
I spent the first 30 years of my life buying good books that helped me stand in life and ministry. I did not read those books because I was preaching from them like many do. My kind of assignment in the Kingdom does not permit that. I read those books because I was looking for common sense.
Stop looking for who to help you with some money. Start looking for common sense and you will have the good sense you need to make your life better.
Prayer will bring the presence of God down, and the presence of God will use the common sense I found while reading books to show me what to do to succeed in life and ministry.
If you think only prayer will help you, then you are doomed. You will be dying for lack of common sense and God will be either watching and waiting to receive your soul in Heaven, or sadly watching and waiting to see your sins throw you into hell.
YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THE EARTH IS A BATTLE FIELD; IT DOES NOT FAVOR PEOPLE WHO LACK COMMON SENSE.
You could be very prayerful, but if you lack common sense you will die a reproach. I have seen so many prayerful people looking like accursed people because the lack common sense. The early church gave themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word because they were looking for two things. They were looking for the presence of God through prayer and common sense by giving themselves to the ministry of the word.
Many of you are suffering because you lack common sense but you claim God do not love you. If you lack common sense, you will be taking decisions that will not allow the love of God to be expressed in your life. People will not be able to see the fruits of serving God in your life.
Our devotional text is full of insight on the destination of the wicked. It says, “When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish, and the hope of the unjust perishes. The righteous is delivered from trouble, and it comes to the wicked instead…. when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.” All these tells us what should happen to the wicked.
The reason is because if God do not paralyze the wicked, they will destroy the righteous. Because they are our neighbors, the Bible says with their mouth alone they can destroy us using the power of hypocrisy (The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor).
But how we will be delivered is what fascinates me. The Bible did not say we will be delivered from them by prayer and fasting. Don’t get me wrong! Prayer and fasting have helped many of us in escaping from the swords of the wicked. But we were not fasting and praying looking for just help from God, we were doing that looking for common sense to apply in the situation.
The Bible says,
“The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.”
You must not confuse that with anything. Another translation puts it this way;
“Dishonest people use gossip to destroy their neighbors; good people are protected by their own good sense.”
The term good sense in this scripture is the same as common sense. If you do not have the good or common sense to be protected from the bad things of life, they will kill you despite your amazing prayer life.
Good or common sense for us believers comes by reading good books, studying the Bible and getting knowledge from anyone or anything that will help us understand the Bible.
This morning, as we continue with the excerpts from the Book on OVERCOMING WITCHCRAFT BY THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER, make up your mind to go get your copy. Start pursuing good sense and watch God use it to change your life.

BIBLE ACCOUNT OF THE THREE FORMS OF WITCHCRAFT!
Witchery is the practice of witchcraft maybe to look supernatural or ‘solve’ a problem so to speak. Most people who go through what many call “deliverance” are actually going through witchery. Sometimes it works making people look up to it. It works because Satan is real, but the solutions are enslavements in disguise.
That brings me to the three forms of witchcraft revealed in the Holy Scriptures.
(A). BLACK WITCHCRAFT: Black witchcraft is basically the use of black magic and sorcery to either offer what look like help to people, inflict others with curses or spells, and do the supernatural outside GOD. Everything about divination, incantations, invocations, sex rituals, construction of what is called altars, human and animal sacrifices, sleeping in coffins or on graves, and related things are involved in witchcraft.
This kind of witchcraft began when mankind started moving far and farer away from God.
The Bible made it clear that as mankind move farer and farer away from God, men began to press further and further towards the devil and all his evil works. This pressing moved witchcraft from just a communication with devils and familiar spirit to outright participation with demons and strong partnership with fallen spirits, leading to an advance in Satan’s enslavement programs.
That brings us to what actually happened in the Generation before the flood of Noah.
THE EMERGENCE OF NEPHILIM
You cannot talk about the Biblical account of black witchcraft without mentioning this Bible event that took place shortly before the flood. The Nephilim were abnormal humans. Many books have been written about these abnormal humans. The account of the Book of Genesis says,
“In time, when men began to multiply on earth, and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were attractive; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
Adonai said,
“My Spirit will not live in human beings forever, for they too are flesh; therefore their life span is to be 120 years.”
The Nephilims were on the earth in those days, and also afterwards, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; these were the ancient heroes, men of renown.” Genesis 6:1-4 Complete Jewish Bible
THIS BIBLICAL ACCOUNT TELLS US HOW THE NEPHILIM CAME TO BE ON EARTH.
Bible scholars believe that when men began to move farer and farer away from God, Satan became closer to them defeating the purposes of God for their lives. God, in a redemptive move, had to send angels from Heaven to come teach them righteousness.
These angles were given human bodies to enable them dwell among men and carry out their assignment. It was these angels the Bible call sons of God.
In the ancient world, any supernatural being (either good or bad) is called son of God.
God sent these angels down but the flesh He gave them overtook them and they began to respond to it. Just as it is overtaking many of us today – who ought to lead a Holy and righteous life after meeting Christ; leading to terrible sins and acts of wickedness even among men of God.
The story has it that lust set in and these angels began to see that the daughters of men were attractive and took wives for themselves, whomever they choose, giving birth to the race of the Nephilim.
THE NEPHILIM WERE SUPER HUMAN.
History has it that the smallest of them was 9 feet tall and the biggest up to 15 feet tall. The Bible calls them “giants on earth.”
They taught men all forms of witchcraft and magic and introduced cannibalism when they fed and led humans to feed on humans. Cannibalism is another expression of witchcraft.
The angels that fathered the Nephilim became very cruel.
For instance, some of them introduced the wife snatching spirit among men – they will take a man’s wife to become theirs and use the man for food. Women also made use of them to keep their husbands under check.
It grew so dark spiritually that some of these women went as far as betraying their husbands to these super humans, and having them killed and used for food. The witchcraft was terrible!
The women who married these angels were taught all kinds of supernatural practices and given amazing dark powers. They became renowned witches with supernatural ability to do anything under heaven. Black witchcraft prevailed so much that there was no remedy for their victims. The Bible says,
“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” Genesis 6:5-7 NKJV
In Hebraic understanding (the language of the Bible), the word Nephilim is associated with the phrase “those who cause others to fall down.”
So instead of teaching men righteousness and bringing forth a holy seed on the face of the earth, these angels and their seed (the Nephilim) taught men wickedness and brought fought that which cause people to fall. They so multiplied wickedness until it got to its boiling point.
And God said to Noah,
“The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Genesis 6:13 NKJV
Then the human race was wiped away (exception of Noah and his family), the earth renewed and another race began with Noah as the new Adam. That made him another critical man on the face of the earth. God confirmed him to be the new Adam when He repeated the very words He spoke to Adam to his ears after the flood. The Bible says,
So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them:”Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. Genesis 9:1 NKJV
THE RESURRECTION OF WITCHCRAFT AFTER THE FLOOD
Witchcraft was part of the form of wickedness that was responsible for the flood of Noah. Sadly, not long after these things, the spirits of the Nephilim whose bodies perished with the flood returned to earth as demons and unclean spirits, restoring witchcraft to the human race. They introduced alcoholism and all kinds of things that witches make people do. It even got to Noah! The Bible says,
“And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.
So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. 25 Then he said: “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants he shall be to his brethren.” Genesis 9:20-25 NKJV
If you look at this scripture carefully you will see the perils of alcoholism on the human race.
Noah by calling, ought to be the wrong person to touch alcohol. He was God’s new Adam on the face of the earth. One with the spiritual keys to determine what happens – someone with a great moral and prophetic burden. But he did not live up to his calling. Hence became alcoholic.
The Bible says he drank and became too drunk to cover his nakedness.
Before we blame the son for seeing the father’s nakedness and being irresponsible, let’s blame the father for not living up to his calling. When fathers do not live up to their callings, they do things that bring witchcraft on their Children.
The curse of Noah on his son, Ham, shut down things in his life and his lineage began to press into the supernatural outside God until they found witchcraft again. History has it that Ham would latter have a grand Child by the name Nimrod who will multiply witchcraft on the face of the earth. The demonic or unclean spirits helped them greatly in serving as an alternative to GOD.
HERE IS HOW IT HAPPENED!
Nimrod got his mother pregnant and they gave birth to a Child called Tammuz. It was the first abomination after the flood.
Abominations have a way of opening evil portals on the face of the earth. The do not just open them on the face of the earth but in the lives of those who commit them. So Nimrod’s union with the mother opened this portal of witchcraft and he caught dark powers that made both of them demi-gods.
Nimrod was worshiped as a god and his mother a goddess. The child became the god of fruitfulness. They literally became temples of demons and multiplied witchcraft on the face of the earth after the almighty God stopped them from building what we now know as the Tower of Babel.
There is so much detail I don’t want to go into because it’s going to take us out of the subject of this book.
We did not write this book to speak about witchcraft but to bring the end time Church into the revelation of how to overcome it as the seed of the righteous God. Bringing in any details that will not be important to this vision will not be helpful.
The summary of it all is this; witchcraft began when Eve communicated with the serpent, and multiplied when the angels who were sent to teach men righteousness taught them wickedness instead. It continued after the flood when Noah cursed his son and opened the human race again to the very spiritual activities that made God to clean up the earth in the first place.
Since then God has been using selective judgment to deal with the scourge and that will continue until we go home to be with our LORD and savior Jesus Christ.
The first way to overcome witchcraft is to know how it began. If you think witchcraft began in your father’s house, you are mistaken. You will not be able to overcome it. It began as outlined in this chapter.
