TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Tuesday 25TH May 2021)
Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:2-3 NIV
WELCOME TO THE 145TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
This is the day the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it. May the LORD satisfy us early with His mercies this day. May the day turn out to be a blessing for every one of us in Jesus precious name.
Our devotional this morning we will be taken from revelation that was written down from the book, OVERCOMING WITCHCRAFT BY THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER. Our devotional text says,
“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.”
We are all called to be heralds of the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven. That is the primary assignment of every who calls on the name of the LORD.
A herald is a messenger. One who carries a message or who is employed to carry a message. Salvation place a responsibility on us all to carry the message of the gospel of the Kingdom from the living God to a dying world.
This message comes by revelation from the living God and is sometimes to be written in books or tablets. So that those who are called to be heralds can read and run with it. Because such messages are always for an appointed time. If there is anytime the church need to know how to neutralize witchcraft and come out of it, that time is now.
The word witchcraft sounds differently to different ears. It has been sued to cause so much havoc in the lives of people. There are preachers who believe their whole ministers is to deal with witchcraft. Sadly, the end up introducing people to charismatic witchcraft in the process.
One of the many things the end time Church will deal with is the second coming of Jezebel. In her first coming she filled Israel with her sorceries of witchcraft. In her second coming she will fill the hearts of men with same. She will seek to neutralize destinies and cage people in spiritual prisons by it. She will pollute the prophetic anointing, and bring back a second coming of the prophets of Baal.
It may interest you to know that there will be a lot of second comings before we experience the second coming of the LORD.
To expose the three kinds of witchcraft that Jezebel will use this end time and place the saints in a faith position where they do not get caught up by Her works, the revelation OVERCOMING WITCHCRAFT BY THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER was written.
It is my prayer that as you go through this little portion form that book, your life will not remain the same. God will spark His fire in your heart to move in the direction of His will.
BIBLE SENSE OF THE ORIGIN OF WITCHCRAFT
“I will put an end to all witchcraft, and there will be no more fortune-tellers. I will destroy all your idols and sacred pillars, so you will never again worship the work of your own hands.” Micah 5:12-13 NLT
The battle against witchcraft is real and God’s determination to bring it to an end is also real. He is angry with the wicked every day because of what wickedness is doing to His redemptive plans for mankind.
I have met quiet a number of people who are angry at witchcraft but I am yet to meet anyone who is angrier at it than God Himself. He is determined to wipe away witchcraft as we can see in the scripture above.
He said, “I will put an end to all witchcraft…” That is what I see Him do in your life! You only need to come into the revelation. When you come into the revelation, you will come into the manifestation.
Revelation is Heavens clearance to the earth to come into things supernaturally.
When God releases a visitation and you do not come into the revelation of it, you will never be granted access to it. That is why people perish – they perish for lack of prophetic revelation and knowledge of the intentions and visitations of God.
What you do not know intimately, will never speak in your life profitably.
We are looking at Bible sense of the origin of witchcraft to kindle the fire of the revelation in your Spirit and bring you into the manifestation of God’s promise against witchcraft. Let us begin with the Bible sense of the definition of witchcraft.
WHAT IS WITCHCRAFT!
There have been a lot of definitions of witchcraft. But what most people know about witchcraft is what people who practice it in disguise tells them. That is why they do not really know what it is. When a witch or wizard you call prophetess or prophet, or a witch doctor in his sanctuary or shrine, tells you anything about witchcraft, you will never be free from it because they are witches and wizards themselves.
That is why many do not really know what it really is.
Satan’s mission to keep people deceived and chained under darkness has not changed. Hence none of his agents will ever tell you the truth about his works – they may reveal the facts but will never tell you the truth because they are not capable of telling the truth.
In disapproving the unbelief of the religious leaders of his day and revealing to us the difference between the Truth and facts, Jesus said to them;
“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 8:44 NKJV
YOU DON’T MEET SOMEONE WHO HAS NO CAPACITY FOR TRUTH TO BE TOLD THE TRUTH.
That is why many are yet to come into complete freedom from witchcraft activities. The only one who can tell us about any work of the devil, is GOD Himself. And glory to Him that we have the Bible – His written word to speak to us. That is why I am limiting myself to what the Bible says about witchcraft, not any one on planet earth.
I will give three definitions of what witchcraft (in Bible sense) is. The first definition is seen in Genesis Chapter 3. Even the dictionary agrees with it. It presents witchcraft as communication with the devil or a familiar spirit. That brings us to the revelation of how witchcraft began. There is power in knowing how things began, especially if you want to pull them.
How a thing began, is the foundation of that thing. Therefore, knowing how a thing began is getting to its foundation and when you get to its foundation you can pull it down from its roots. The first step to overcoming witchcraft is to come into the Bible revelation of how it all started. If you do, you will be properly positioned to pull it down from its roots.
Most people think witchcraft began in their families or in some tribes. They try to search for its foundations in their father’s houses and so forth. But the first Bible sense of what witchcraft is, tells us where it actually began. IT BEGAN WHEN EVE AND THE SERPENT COMMUNICATED.
So if you communicate with the devil today you are practicing witchcraft. It other words Eve was the first person to practice witchcraft on the face of the earth making a woman the first to tap into witchcraft.
Sadly, while Adam was communicating with GOD, Eve was communicating with the devil. That is why today there are more witches than wizards (apology to all women).
The serpent in the Garden was both the devil and familiar spirit in disguise. Don’t forget our first definition of witchcraft – communication with the devil or familiar spirit.
The serpent was a familiar spirit that day because he was familiar with the Garden of Eden.
The Bible made it clear that He has been in the Garden when the garden was a spiritual site in glory, in the spiritual earth he once lived in the eternal past. He lived there with a third of God’s angels.
The spiritual earth that existed then merged with Heaven by spiritual presence and atmospheric condition. Making it possible for Satan to walk back and forth even to the mountain of God. The prophet Ezekiel put it this way;
“You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.
The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.
“You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.” Ezekiel 28:13-15 NKJV
So his life in this Eden, that was in the eternal past, made him familiar with the natural one created. Don’t forget the natural was called out of the supernatural. The Bible says,
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
A Familiar spirit is any spirit that is familiar with someone’s life or environment.
Familiar spirits are responsible for giving the witches and wizards we call prophets information about people’s lives. For instance, it was a familiar spirit that the witch of Endor invoked in 1 Samuel 28:7-25 to speak as Samuel the prophet to Saul. The same spirit was the very demon responsible for Saul’s rebellion against God.
Satan will induce people who yield to him to be rebellious towards God so that a move or thing of God can be stopped.
CONCERNING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE WOMAN AND THE SERPENT (THAT DOUBLES AS THE DEVIL AND FAMILIAR SPIRIT) THE BIBLE SAYS,
“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'”
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” Genesis 3:1-6 NKJV
So it’s clear in scriptures that a woman was the first to tap into witchcraft. The reason is obvious. She was created to rule by influence and Satan wanted to use her influence. She was also the first declared enemy of Satan. As his enemy, he wanted to ruin her by using her, and he is still doing that today.
Satan will seek to ruin you be using you to stop a things of God! Don’t forget that. If he sought to use Peter to stop the LORD from dying, he will seek to use you, especially if you are close to a true man of God.
That brings us to the second definition of what witchcraft is! Witchcraft is an “Irresistible influence or fascination that exacts excessive control on others.”
The word INFLUENCE stands out in that definition.
The Man Adam was created to rule by power but the woman Eve was created to rule by influence. And like I stated earlier, Satan wanted to use the influence of the woman. The fall of man was possible because Influence is superior to power. For instance, powerful men of God and secular warriors have been brought down by irresistible women. Influence is much stronger than power.
Since she was created to rule by influence, when she saw witchcraft, something that carried a strong influence like her, she was attracted to it. It’s like what we all say “Like attracts like.” That was how she became the first to touch witchcraft.
So if you wickedly try to influence others to do your will, maybe by using what you have gathered from a communication with the devil, you are practicing witchcraft.
Eve used what she gathered from the serpent, and made Adam to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, outside God’s set time for it. That helped the devil to stop the program for God. She practices witchcraft by talking to the devil, and practiced it by influencing her husband to do her will against God’s will.
WHENEVER YOU TOUCH WITCHCRAFT YOU BEGIN TO EXACT EXCESSIVE CONTROL OVER PEOPLE, AND MAKE THEM DO THINGS THAT ARE NOT GOD’S WILL FOR THEIR LIVES.
So witchcraft began from the Garden of Eden and spread to the entire human race over time. That brings me to the last definition of witchcraft I saw in scriptures.
It describes witchcraft as “the use of magic or sorcery.” In other words, any use of magic and sorcery, be it in Church or outside the Church, is witchcraft.
For instance, most of what we call deliverance today is witchery. It is not deliverance at all. That is why they give people special Oil, Water, Sticks, Brooms, shells of snails, pieces of clothes, padlocks and etc. to use in prayers. They give such things because in witchery, things that appear to be the similarity of what you want are used.
Witchery is the practice of witchcraft, maybe to look supernatural or ‘solve’ a problem, so to speak.
Most people who go through what many call deliverances are actually going through witchery. Sometimes it works, making people look up to it. It works because Satan is real, but the solutions are enslavements in disguise. That brings me to the three forms of witchcraft revealed in the Holy Scriptures.
