TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Wednesday 23RD June 2021)
“THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.”
“For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.” Romans 8:1-2 AMP
WELCOME TO THE 174TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS.
Praise the LORD! God has brought us to another great day and we bless Him for all He has done in our lives.
This morning we want to begin by asking a question. I want every one of us to sit down to ask ourselves how old we are, and what we will be remembered for when we fulfill our days on earth and the time of departure or death comes.
A people who do not ask themselves such questions from time to time, will be deceived by life. Besides they may not end well when they die. The next Life is too precious not to spend this one asking what you will be remembered for.
It is how we live this life that determined how the next one will be. Being Heavenly purpose driven is very important when living this life and making Jesus the center of your life is the most important.
To this end we will be refreshing our minds with truths on this very important issue of life and destiny. It’s my prayer that you find something refreshing in Jesus precious name. Amen
WHAT WILL YOU BE REMEMBERED FOR?
Will you be remembered for the problems you created for people or the ones you solved? If you are a Child of God that worked with the LORD, you should be remembered for the problems you caused in the kingdom of darkness and the ones you solved in the lives of men.
Yes, people who work with God do create problems for those working with the evil one. For instance, Jesus and I create problems by God’s grace, for all who are working with the devil behind so many Church pulpits whenever He enables me to stand to preach His word.
Except they repent, I see Him creating more problems for them by the hands of many other people even to a thousand generations, if He tarries.
Again as children of God, we should be remembered for the problems we created for the kingdom of darkness. And don’t be surprised by these words because if you are travelling on opposite direction with the devil, you will create problems to everyone traveling in the same direction with him. As a result, they will fight you.
Yes, they will fight you because of the problems you are creating for them as you walk with the LORD.
Sadly, speaking, so many Christians are travelling in the same direction with the devil. They are so aligned with the mystery of iniquity and very far from the mystery of godliness. That is why they are comfortable with sin and the works of the flesh.
So many of us in the faith put on a form of godliness that has no power and call it a Christian life.
There is no difference between many of us and the lost world in our life style and personal character. We marry the way they do. We speak the way they do. We pursue money the way they do. We are religious but very godless the way they are. We go to alcohol centers and clubs houses the way they do and do all nonsense they do.
In the areas of morality, we sleep with men and women we are not married to the way they do. We lie and deceive the way they do. We do all they do and still think we are born again and will not end up where they will end. That is delusion.
If you say you are born again but you are living like the lost, you are not born again. You are lost also and will end right where they will end when you die. Jesus made it clear that if there is no difference between us and the lost world we are traveling on the same direction with them – we are still unsaved!
THAT IS WHY DEMONS HAVE UNHINDERED ACCESS TO MANY LIVES IN CHURCH.
The unhindered access of demons to many Christians today is alarming. People are made to believe that because they have recited the sinner’s prayer, which have become more of a sinner’s poem these days; they are saved.
Friend, no amount of repetition of that prayer can get you saved. It is a renunciation of the sinner’s life through a heart commitment to the LORD that gets us saved from eternal judgment. That is what takes us from traveling in the same direction with the devil to traveling in opposite directions.
If you travel in the same direction with the devil, you will end up in the same destination with him. And that destination is the lake of fire.
The unhindered access that demons are having in the lives of many so called believers should alarm anyone with Christ in Him or her. It is a dangerous sign that one is traveling in the same direction with the evil one.
Sadly, deliverance ministers complicate the problems of those with this kind of problems by blaming other things that look true as the reason for the unhindered access of demons to their lives. They blame evil altars and foundation, ancestral curses, and etc. But God blame them on traveling in the same direction with the evil one.
People travel in the same direction with the evil one when their Christianity lack genuine repentance.
Your Christianity will lack genuine initial repentance, and daily subsequent repentance that leads to one becoming the image of Christ, if you are not fed quality spiritual food on day to day bases. It is through quality spiritual food that we encounter the LORD daily.
The truth is, the blood of Jesus has set us free from all forms of captivity but we do not see that victory in the lives of many because there is no genuine initial repentance in their acclaimed salvation experience, hence no subsequent repentance in their Christian lives.
INITIAL REPENTANCE GETS US SAVED! SUBSEQUENT REPENTANCE KEEPS US SAVED.
If the two are lacking in our lives, we will not lack demonic attacks. Demons will have unhindered access to our lives.
We must understand that People who do not repented of their sins and turn fully to Christ do not enjoy the full benefits of redemption. Those who claim a born again that is merely a psychologically salvation will not lack the works of darkness in their lives.
Any believe with no real daily or weekly encounter with Jesus will slip away from the paths of salvation without even knowing it, and return back to his or her unsaved state.
Sadly, very few in the faith do have daily encounters with the LORD.
If your Christian life lacks genuine repentance, you will not be remembered for creating problems in the kingdom of darkness. You will be remembered for being part of it because by spiritual reality, you are still under the domain of darkness where deliverance is not possible.
If your born again lacks the NEW LIFE where sin, iniquity or trespass do not reign over our mortal body you will not be able to create problems in the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of darkness will be the one creating problems for you.
True Christianity do not hold on to its old sinful nature. A Christianity that still holds on to its old nature is an insanity. The Bible says;
“If you have really heard his voice and learned from him the truths concerning himself, then throw off your old evil nature—the old you that was a partner in your evil ways—rotten through and through, full of lust and sham.
Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better. Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature.
Stop lying to each other; tell the truth, for we are parts of each other and when we lie to each other we are hurting ourselves. If you are angry, don’t sin by nursing your grudge. Don’t let the sun go down with you still angry—get over it quickly; for when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil.
If anyone is stealing, he must stop it and begin using those hands of his for honest work so he can give to others in need. Don’t use bad language. Say only what is good and helpful to those you are talking to, and what will give them a blessing.
Don’t cause the Holy Spirit sorrow by the way you live. Remember, he is the one who marks you to be present on that day when salvation from sin will be complete.” Ephesians 4:21-30 LIVING BIBLE.
I DON’T KNOW IF MANY OF US WHO CLAIM BORN AGAIN DO READ SCRIPTURES LIKE THESE AT ALL.
I don’t know if we do sit down with the LORD from time to time to speak to us through scriptures like this one. Sadly, we do not.
We do not sit with the Holy Scriptures and ask the LORD to speak to us from its pages. We do not do what our fathers did in their days. We rather run after prophets and prophetesses asking them to tell us what God may have spoken to them about our lives.
O generation hear the word of the LORD! Christians who make such request to prophets and prophetesses, or to the so called servants of the LORD, especially these end times, are courting spiritual disaster. They are looking for the python spirit to swallow them up.
If you have not sat down with what is written to hear form the LORD, you will be deceived looking for what is spoken by the LORD concerning you.
Genuine Salvation and effective Christian living will get you walking after the dictates of the Spirit oozing out of the pages of the scriptures. It will never place you in any of the dangerous spiritual positions people have taken in Church today.
What are we sharing this morning? We are asking ourselves what will we be remembered for when our days on earth are over? Will we be remembered for the problems we created for the kingdom of darkness or the ones they created of us? LORD help me!
If you are still going about with preachers money making doctrines, you will be remembered for the problems the kingdom of darkness created for you.
You must come to the knowledge of the truth and know that until genuine salvation experience takes place, both pastors and members will never stop talking about evil altars, evil foundations, and ancestral connections. They will never stop giving out and receiving prophecies like spiritual babies.
A major highlight in our devotional text today says,
“For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.”
If you look carefully at this scripture, you will find two laws that were uncovered by God to us. The first is “the law of the Spirit of life” and the second “the law of sin and death.”
Everyone on the face of the earth is hooked on to either of these laws.
The law of the Spirit of life is superior to the law of Sin and death. It is that law that you see at work in the life of those who are genuinely saved; Christians leading their lives according to the dictates of the Spirit of Holiness and not according to the dictates of the flesh.
When you see someone living in sin and calling himself ‘born again’ you have seen someone ruled by the law of sin and death. What makes us born again is the law of the Spirit of life working in us not that of sin and death.
May the LORD open our heart and eyes to find truths to live by in this devotional, in Jesus precious name! AMEN!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION;
“For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.”
“Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].”
“[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot.”
“So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him. Romans 8:5-8 AMP
