TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Sunday 19TH September 2021)
“I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’” Acts 26:17-18 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 263RD DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
Glory to God in the Highest for giving us another week. Sunday is usually the beginning of a fresh week; I am glad that was the day Jesus Christ resurrected from the grave, putting a seal over our faith.
His resurrection set us apart from every other form of human worship on earth. It set the Christian faith above every other faith because there is no other faith witch a record of the resurrection story.
Whenever we gather to fellowship together in our local Churches on Sunday, we should not forget that we are celebrating the resurrection of the LORD. Do not think it is an Easter thing.
With that understanding let me wish everyone a happy resurrection morning. Our God is the God of the living not the dead. That is why He gives life to the dead so that He can be their GOD. But the life you are living, is it a script of a real life? Get the message from my YouTube channel if you have not. It will minister so much to you!
In our devotional today, we will be looking at some deep truths that will take our faith to a higher level. The most dangerous power on earth is not a nuclear or electric power. As dangerous as they are if misused, they are not the most dangerous powers on earth.
To the man in a village, the most dangerous power is the power of witches and wizards. To the sick, the most dangerous power is the power of diseases. At least we saw what corona virus did to human lives.
To those under that tack of Satan, the most dangerous power is the power of the devil; he destroyed jobs prosperity in one less than an hour. Everything he worked and built for many years, came done crumbling in few minutes.
THAT TO MANY IS A DANGEROUS POWER.
But as dangerous as the power of electricity and nuclear energy may be, as dangerous as the power of witches, diseases, and Satan may be, none of them can control things in Heaven and on earth. The power of Satan may control things in the first and second heaven, and then the earth, but cannot control things in Heaven, the dwelling place of God.
For instance, if you die in Christ and stand before God in Holiness and righteousness, Satan cannot stop Him from embracing and receiving you into His Heaven kingdom.
So his powers and every other powers we have mentioned are not the most dangerous powers in existence. Obviously, the most dangerous power will control things in Heaven, the dwelling place of God and earth, and things on earth, the dwelling place of man, and that power is the power of sin and ignorance of who God is.
Satan cannot stop us from making Heaven but sin and ignorance of who God is can. The Bible says;
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 kjv
People cannot be stopped by Satan from making Heaven but can be stopped by the sins Jesus has paid for but they refuse to pay the price to repent of them. That is what will stop many for making Heaven.
One could argue that it is the devil that make us commit sin; that could be true. But the Bible says Jesus’ death on the cross destroyed His ability to stop us. If you find him stopping any from making Heaven, that person gave him a work of to use. The person gave him ignorance and rebellion to use. The person ignored the LORD by living a life of sin, iniquity or trespass and the enemy found him or her.
WHEN YOU IGNORE JESUS, SATAN WILL FIND AND BRING YOU INTO HIS BANDWAGON, THAT IS FULL OF HELL BOUND PEOPLE.
That is why it is dangerous to ignore the LORD. It is dangerous to ignore His word in the Bible, and dangerous to ignore an invitation to attend a church service that will help you. It is really dangerous to ignore the LORD of any reason.
The most dangerous power in existence remains the power of sin and ignorance of who God is. God could destroy nuclear or electric power by sitting down on His throne and sending a word against them. He could destroy any other power by sending commands from the throne room. But He could not destroy the power of Sin and Satan until He came down and died on the cross. That is what made it the most dangerous power.
And God is going to refurbish the whole earth for the purpose of purging it from the effects of sin and ignorance of who He is, and then fill it with the knowledge of His glory and the splendor of His Holiness.
The power of sin and ignorance is so dangerous that God could not destroy them by sitting on the throne and issuing a command. He destroyed them by becoming man and dying a shameful death. He is still working against the same powers by planting His church on earth to bring the revelation of who He is through His Holy Apostles and prophets, according to scriptures.
For instance, King Saul underestimated the power of the sin of rebellion; it made him an associate of wizards. Only those who are walking in rebellion associate with witches and wizards that people call prophetesses and prophets. God will later kill him for doing so.
Samson also underestimated the power of Sin that was why he lost his anointing on the laps of Delilah. If just one night took the power away from Him, only God knows how our Bishops, who have made sleeping with women who are not their spouses a life style, have become in spirit.
David underestimated the power of sleeping with another man’s wife. The result was devastating. He almost lost the throne. Today in church we will talk about David.
IF YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH SOMEONE YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY MARRIED TO, YOU WILL BE DESTROYED OVER TIME.
If you underestimate the power of consulting mediums, even the one you call prophets, you will be sorry.
Many in Church today have underestimated the power of sins called the filthiness of the spirit, like hatred, rebellion, bitterness, jealousy, lust, pride, drunkenness, deceit, love of money, wickedness, and vengeance and destroyed their souls.
Sons and daughters of Jesus Christ who underestimate the power of sin and ignorance of who God is, will always loose precious blessings to the evil one. There is one thing God wants us to do to the power of sin and ignorance; He wants us to turn away from them. He wants us to have no fellowship with sin or things that keep us in the dark of who He really is. The Bible says,
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. Ephesians 5:11-12 NKJV
The unfruitful works of darkness are the many kinds of sins we expose our souls to and the evil works of the devil all over the earth. We are to expose and not conceal them.
For instance, spending time to gaze at nude men and women and what they do with their bodies on the social media is having fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness. Many have become slaves to the demons in charge of pornography through that. A major highlight in our devotional text today says;
“I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins.”
This was a mandate God handed over to Paul during His salvation experience. To me, this was an apostolic mandate and remains the true mandate of God to the Church. That is why any gospel ministry or Church assembly that is not turning people from darkness to light will never be able to turn them from the power of sin and come talk of that of Satan.
HAVE YOU WONDERED WHY MANY HAVE GONE TO CHURCH FOR YEARS, AND ARE STILL HELD DOWN BY THE POWER OF SIN? I MEAN EVEN PASTORS?
The false grace gospel is responsible. Most Churches today lacks what it takes to turn people from sin because they are established upon traditions developed from the false grace gospel.
They have all the money making preaching and teachings, but lack Holiness empowerment and Heaven making messages. Hence, there is no word to push people to the place where the power of sin is broken.
Fellowshipping with the unfruitful works of darkness keeps one bound to sin and then Satan. But fellowshipping with Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit breaks the power of sin and then Satan from us. That is why God is calling us to walk away from perverted grace and embrace His amazing grace.
The power of sin and ignorance of who God is are deep powers that can only be broken practically in our lives through deep intimacy with Jesus Christ. Shallow intimacy will never do it.
Christians whose relationship with Jesus Christ is shallow will never be victorious over these two powers. They will not be able to extend the victory of the cross into their lives. And don’t forget, you can be praying and fasting in shallow places in the spirit. So this is not just about praying and fasting. It is much more than that!
I pray that as you go through this day, the Spirit of the living God will keep ringing the bell of deep intimacy in your spirit man. You will not cease hearing Heaven saying “Come down deeper and catch things that eyes have not seen, nor ears heard.”
One of the things you will catch is a permanent victory over the power of sin, which is the propeller of death or moral decay! The Bible says the propeller of Death or moral is sin. But there is more in God’s Amazing Grace to keep us moving in Christ, from purity to purity.
