THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Monday 11th October 2021)

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory.

“For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them. He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail.” 1 Samuel 2:8-9 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 284TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!

Blessed be the name of the LORD what has not given us to the teeth of our enemies. Blessed be the name of the LORD who has not given us to the will of those who hate us.

The best sight in the kingdom is not when the righteous are condemn when they are judged, neither is it when they are given over to will of their enemies. The best sight in the Kingdom is when the opposite happens.

We are alive today because the opposite happened and will not cease happening.

It’s another glorious Monday from our LORD and savior Jesus Christ. Only the Day can create a day like this. Jesus is called the Day in the Holy Scriptures. He created today. So, if we walk with Him, we will end up with a great day.

He is also called the LIGHT of the world, and as you can see, our world is full of darkness. If you do not want the darkness of this generation to catch up with you, then He must be your LIGHT.

Speaking about the secret of His wealth in his days of trial; and by extension the secret of the Prosperity of the Righteous, Job said;

“Oh, that I were as in months past, As in the days when God watched over me; When His lamp shone upon my head, and when by His light I walked through darkness;” Job 29:2-3 NKJV

It’s traditional to walk through darkness using light. The moral darkness of this world is not something you walk through on your own. You will need the LIGHT of the world to walk through it. You will need the revelation of Jesus Christ to be able to travel through safely.

People who walk through the darkness of this world using their own human light, cannot lead peaceful lives. They easily fall into the pits of sorrows and sudden destruction. That is why, no matter your education, it is foolish to walk through a dark world using our own light, because we are not the light of the world.

JESUS REMAINS THE LEGITIMATE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

One thing you must understand is this, People who walk through a dark world in their own light always lean on their own understanding while making decisions, and the Bible says;

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.” Proverbs 3:5-8 NKJV

This scripture tells us why we have so many sick people today. It tells us why health problems have become one of the major problems of human beings today.

Many are wise in their eyes, and do not walk in the fear of the LORD. That is why if you make the LIGHT of the world, Christ and the revelation of who He is, your light in a dark world, you will not see any of these.

You will not be leading an earthly life that leans on human understanding, or making decisions without acknowledging the LORD in all your ways. You will not be wise in your eyes; neither will you lack the fear of the LORD. You will find yourself enjoying divine health in your flesh and strength in the bones of your life.

You must understand that God never created an earth that man can survive in without His help. In fact, God did not create anything to survive without His power.

The Bible says all things are sustained by the word His power. Not by the power of the things created. We are not created to sustain ourselves by our own power. That is why we must spend our days trusting the LORD for help.

Trusting in the LORD will position you for great help from the LORD because it is one way you tell Him, “I cannot do without you.” But many lead lives that states the opposite, hence experiencing great falls in so many aspects of their lives.

Attempting to survive without the power of the LORD in an evil infested world is dangerous.

The only creature that attempted to survive by its own power fell and became Satan; that is food for thought! We will fall, and fall and fall down, down, and down until we become unredeemable if we try to survive by our power.

EVERY DISASTER IN LIFE IS CAUSED BY MAN’S ATTEMPT TO DO THINGS IN HIS POWER.

One of the major revelations that the mother of Samson (the first prophet of Israel after setting aside the priesthood) got from all her years of bareness reads;

“For by strength no man shall prevail.

Hannah did not get this revelation in joy but in the tears of not having a child for a long time. No other scripture fits the center of our sharing today like this one. That is why we made it our devotional text.

The last line made it clear that “by strength shall no man prevail.” If you want to be free from worries and anxiety, this scripture must become one of the anchors of your life!

It further tells us that we were not created to prevail by our own strength.

That is why the most successful, impactful, and victorious people in GOD’s kingdom are those who know how to depend on God – people driven by the same prophetic lesson that Hannah learnt – “By strength shall no man prevail.

Men like Enoch, Lamech, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua, David, Jeremiah and etc., who unleashed their destinies and left us trails of glory to draw truths from, sought God in persistent and consistent prayers; they sought Him because they knew by strength shall no man prevail.

When Jesus came as man, He prayed countless times and showed us how to depend on God in everything. He prayed, fasted and sought our Heavenly Father countless of times. Most nights He did not sleep.

If Jesus, who was hundred percent man and hundred percent God, depended on God through prayer in His days of flesh, then we will be foolish not to do the same and expect great success.

THE BELIEVERS IN THE EARLY CHURCH UNDERSTOOD THIS AND GAVE THEMSELVES TO PRAYER AND TO THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD.

The present Church must do the same. We must learn to demonstrate our dependency on God through that. The truth is, if we know how much we need God, we will do the same.

Wisdom demands that a man spend the most of His time with the person He cannot succeed without. Yes, someone he needs strength from every minute to prevail in life. David said;

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1-2 NKJV

If the LORD is the strength of your life, then you will be spending time with Him. You will create a devotional habit that builds your life around God’s presence. David demonstrated that when He said;

“One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.” Psalm 27:4 NKJV

The house of God is not a building but the place of God’s manifest presence. If you truly realize how much you need God, you will make the place of His manifest presence your home like David did, and there are many glorious things that will begin to happen in your life on their own accord if you do.

You see, God is indispensable, we should never attempt to make Him dispensable.

If we make God dispensable, we will be disposed into the garbage of life-sorrows by the perils of this life. We will be disposed and there will be no one that can help us. You see that all through the scriptures.

A major part of our devotional text says;

“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory.”

The poor are not raised by banks; neither are they raise by government programs.

Most government programs actually kill the poor because politicians use them to enrich themselves. The poor are raised by the God of the poor; only He can truly raise us from the dust of life and lift us from being beggars on ash heaps to becoming princes.

Only He brings them to the place of inheriting the throne of glory.

Ordinarily, no prince will want the poor to become like them, that is why the rich keep the poor bellow so that they will keep depending on them, and serving their interest.

If you therefore think by spending time with the rich, you will become rich, please reconsider. You will only end up wasting your time.

The only person you spend time with and become rich is God, who delights in raising the poor and setting them among princes. So, learn to build your life around His manifest presence not around princess who will never allow you to be like them.

This is a proceeding word from the LORD to you this morning; read it slowly, meditating on the truths in it over and over again, because GOD wants to lift you up.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!

Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD.

For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not Fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:5-8 NKJV
