TODAY’S DEVOTION (Wednesday 5TH January 2022)
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 5TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE.
In our devotional today, we will be looking at one of the most essential things you and I will need to succeed this and year and beyond. It is one of the things you get from God if you become intimate with Him.
To start with, can you imagine a cell-phone without a battery? No matter how sophisticated it may be, its potentials will never be realized. That is how a child of God without the power of God is in the Spirit realm. He is powerfully endowed but you cannot see anything significant happening in His life.
A life without the power of GOD in an evil infested world will be a misery to its owner. Just as you can’t receive a call with a sophisticated mobile phone without a battery, neither can you be on face book, instagram, WhatsApp, nor any other form of the social media networks available today with it. That is how beautiful but useless a life that has no presence of the Holy Spirit in it will be.
It will just be blank and dark!
Using the terms of automobile engineering I want you to understand that Christianity without power is like a beautiful car without an engine! There will be nothing to drive it even after kicking the engine – in fact there will be no engine to kick.
In the same way, your prayer, fasting, singing, giving and study of scriptures will lack effect if you have no supernatural power of GOD in your life. It will be like kicking a car without an engine; it will simply be a form of godliness that has no power!
THAT IS WHY THE OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY GHOST UPON A MAN IS A NECESSITY.
One major person you should seek this hour of your life therefore is the person of the Holy Spirit. If you are single, do not seek marriage until you seek and find Him. If you are married, seek Him until He becomes the ultimate companion of your marital life.
He is the only travel partner that will guide us accurately and safely through any season of our lives; marriage inclusive. He will animate our potentials and help us realize them. He will take away our failures and frailty, and make us super human.
Yes, He will make us God’s supermen on the face of the earth.
I have seen the Holy Spirit take a fool and turn him into the wisest person you can ever deal with. For instance, I was born a stutterer but this precious friend took me and made me a preacher. Sometimes people wonder where I get what I preach from. I also wonder the same.
But we all forget that it’s this great Friend that animates mortal brains to sense and speak for the immortal God. He is the revealer of things that have been freely given to us by GOD. That is why it is impossible to know things God has freely given to without Him reigning in our lives.
The Bible says;
“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10-12 NKJV
THE BEST PREACHERS ON EARTH WILL BECOME THE WORST DUMMIES ON EARTH IF THE HOLY GHOST WITHDRAWS FROM THEM.
We all saw how Samson became when He withdrew from him. What could not stand him handled him cheaply. A woman made him do something that sent the Holy Ghost away from his life and he became ordinary. We are only extraordinary when this great partner sits upon our lives.
I have seen Him show me miracles He has done in people’s lives and pulling me to call them out, and as soon as I do, He moves immediately to implement what I just saw in the spirit. That is how He sets the captive free by my hands.
I have also come to realize that He is the only friend you need before having other friends because He will guide you on who to bring into your life. If you make friends before meeting Him, you will make friends out of snakes and scorpions who appear like sons of GOD.
He helps the righteous in choosing their friends carefully.
He remains the missing personality in the lives of so many today. That is why they go seeking for other things to fill in the void. They seek drugs, sex mates, witchdoctors, god fathers, and etc. even to their destruction to fill in the void.
It is impossible to replace the Holy Spirit in your life with anyone or anything; not even with an anointed man of God!
You may have a good phone that places you on social media networks, but if you do not have the Holy Spirit you will never connect God’s media in the spirit realm. You will live your life disconnected from His communication systems.
The Holy Spirit is God in the third person, and since God is not discovered, God is revealed, He alone reveals God to us. If you say you know God but do not have the Holy Spirit, you lie. Without the Holy Spirit in our lives, there can be no genuine revelation of who God is.
Also, if you say you are saved but do not have the Holy Spirit, you are deluded. Without the Holy Spirit, you are not truly saved. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth that needs gets us born again by the sanctification of regeneration.
For those of us in ministry, if you say you are a preacher but do not have the Holy Spirit, you are an impostor. Because without the Holy Spirit you are a false witness.
Sadly, many preachers either do not have Him or have lost Him.
When you remove the Holy Spirit and try to believe God, you will believe the History of God and not the now of God. If you do not have the ‘now’ of God you will be trapped in your own now. Your now is a perfect description of your present circumstances but the now of God is a perfect revelation of God’s miracle package for your circumstances.
You can never step into it without the blessed Holy Spirit.
Yes, without the Holy Spirit you cannot step out of YOUR NOW into the NOW OF GOD. Miracles only occur when you step into God’s now. But let me take you further!
Our devotional text says,
“You shall receive power after this precious Friend has come upon you”.
Poverty is caused by power failure. Because when you do not have power you have to substitute it with something, if the Holy Spirit is not in your life, you will lack the power to get wealth and consequently you will plug into hell to get it. That is why we have all kinds of perverted and occult practices in Church.
If you will safely go through this year safely, you must receive a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. You must make every day a day of not relenting in seeking Relationship with Him.
The early Church sought relationship with Him by giving themselves entirely to prayers and the ministry of the word. The result was amazing; they came under His shadow and rode on His power all their lives. You are the next of God’s list!
STOP RUNNING AFTER MEN AND START RUNNING AFTER THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Ask Jesus to baptize you with His Fire and Power and He will. You can start this pursuit today. Now is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late! May your voice come to Heaven for a quick release in Jesus precious name! AMEN!!!]
