TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 7TH October 2025)
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:43-48 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 280TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
The LORD has been merciful and kind, gracious and compassionate. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, but according to His love for us.
Love has been the definition of His relationship with us. He demonstrated His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. His love has been our healing Balm, refuge from storms, survival system, protective hedge, and access to His presence.
Aren’t you happy that GOD is love? That is why He is slow to anger and full of mercy. I have heard the servants of the Arabian god saying there god is merciful. But if I look at their lives, I can’t find that mercy. He gives them money and fame but cannot give them health, peace, or godliness to enjoy the wealth.
They are some of the richest men and women on earth, but also some of the most sickly, demonic oppressed, sinful, and corrupt. Most suffer all kinds of terrible diseases and die in their prime. Those who live to old age will have old age full of diseases like blindness, deafness, heart diseases, etc.
While our GOD can be with us even to our old age, their ‘God’ cannot be with them. Our GOD said in His word:
“Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.” Isaiah 46:4 NKJV
But you cannot find such promise in the books of the Arabian god to its worshipers. The god or ‘God’ gives them money and earthly success, but they do not enjoy divine peace, divine health, divine protection or divine mercy. They do not enjoy anything divine. How can a God who is full of mercy not be able to give them anything divine, keep them healthy or free from demonic attacks?
A GOD THAT GIVES YOU WEALTH AND NOT HEALTH AND FREEDOM FROM SPIRITUAL ATTACKS IS WICKED.
How can you enjoy wealth without health and preservation from spiritual attacks? A god that promises you paradise but cannot give you what it takes to get there when you die, is lying to you. That god is not the true GOD. The true GOD will promise you Heaven and give you what it takes to get there, Christ in you the hope of glory.
The next thing the false god would ask you to do is to hate, kill, or destroy those who hate you, or will not accept your faith.
It will ask you to kill those who blaspheme him or his prophet, to treat them as infidels and men and women for the slaughter. But the true GOD would not do that. He is LOVE and teaches love. He said in our devotional text:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

You can never find these gracious words in the texts of the books of the false gods to its worshipers. That is why they kill, maim, and destroy for their ‘God’ or god. Those gods do not teach them forgiveness and mercy. Those gods cannot even defend themselves; they need the hate of their worshipers for non-worshipers to defend them.
THEY ARE NOT THE TRUE GOD, AND WE WILL COME TO THAT SHORTLY.
Friend, a god that will ask you to kill those who speak against him is a deceit. The true GOD will defend Himself, He would not ask you to harm those who do not believe in Him or speak against His prophet or prophets. He will never allow you to become a terrorist for Him. He does not raise terrorists because He is not a religion.
When Saul was going about attacking this One and only true GOD, no one who believed in Him in the early church wished Saul dead or went after him to kill him for all his blasphemies, etc. The believers knew that the true GOD would defend Himself, and He did.
He did not defend Himself by killing Saul; He defended Himself by converting Him into the Christian faith and making him His special messenger or apostle.
I challenge all who feel their god (or God) is true, to allow him (or Him) to prove so by defending himself (or Himself) the way the GOD of the Bible did. He should move his worshipers to seek the conversion of all who blaspheme against him, or against his prophet, not their dead, because that is what the true GOD will do.
Yes, the true GOD, the God of the Bible, defended Himself by moving Saul from being a terrorist to becoming the life-saving apostle Paul of the New Testament church. That is the true God for you!!
Any religion that asks you to kill or destroy someone who is not part of your faith, either for not being part of your faith, or for blaspheming against your ‘God,’ or attacking your prophet, is of the devil because the devil kills, steals and destroys. That religion is not sourced in the true God. If you do so, you will end up in hell when you die.
THE TRUE GOD IS LOVE AND WILL NOT HASTILY KILL THOSE WHO ATTACK HIM.
Worshipers of the true God will not kill for Him. The true God will convert all who oppose Him into His true worshipers, and He will not do that through wars, the spread of hate, issuing of threat, a holy war, or destruction. He will do that by giving them peace, showing them love and compassion, and giving them deliverance from all forms of destruction. The Bible says:
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” Acts 10:38 NKJV
The true GOD will anoint men and women to go about healing all that are oppressed of the devil not killing all who blaspheme against him or his prophet(s). He showed us that when He stepped down to the earth as man, the man Jesus.
You find Jesus going about and healing all who were oppressed of the devil in his days of flesh. You also see His apostles and disciples in the early Church doing the same after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says:
“And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4: 33 NKJV
The grace that was upon them brought healing and deliverance to all who they came across. It did not bring death and destruction to any infidels. In fact, they did not call anyone an infidel. They saw those who never believed in their message, who blasphemed against Jesus and GOD’s prophets as God’s children, who needed deliverance from deception.
Yes, they saw them as dying souls that needs GOD’s healing power and salvation and showed them so much love. They did not see them as infidels that needed death or destruction for not believing or for blaspheming. Their lives remain a proof that the true GOD will not raise terrorist as worshipers, but disciples who can bring healing to a dying world.
AS WE BRING THIS TO A CLOSE, I WANT TO POSE A QUESTION AND ALSO GIVE THE ANSWER.
If the true God does not kill those who do not believe in Him, does He punish sinners who remain defiant? Also why did He raise men like Joshua to wipe away ungodly nations from the earth?
To start with, the true GOD is the judge of the earth and would not want His earth to be full of moral decay. So, He executes correctional judgement on those who partner with Satan to corrupt His earth. The Bible puts it this way:
“With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.” Isaiah 26:9 NKJV
The reason for the execution of Judgment or for allowing people’s sins to find them out is to teach righteousness.
This is not done through holy wars, but through supernatural or invisible means. No matter what, the true GOD will never will that any should perish but that all comes to repentance. He only moves to execute judgment where people refuse to make use of His grace.
The Bible puts it this way:
“Let grace be shown to the wicked, Yet he will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, And will not behold the majesty of the Lord.” Isaiah 26:10 NKJV
From this scripture, it is clear that it is people who refuse to learn righteousness, after grace has been shown to them, that the true GOD moves against to preserve His earth from moral decay. Yet, He will never do that by asking people to kill them through holy wars.
Joshua and others fought wars that wiped away ungodly nations from the earth for the same reason. In that dispensation that was allowed. The true GOD had to ask them to do so because, at that time, men had not been given the power to bind demons and transform moral lives through the preaching or teaching of the gospel.
That power came after the resurrection of Christ.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit, was released to the earth after the resurrection, giving mankind the power to transform the morality of fellow men into the nature of Christ, through reasoning in the word of God, meditation in scriptures, and teaching or preaching of the gospel. It is no longer carried out by killings, commanded wars or holy wars!!
If you see anyone trying to convert men to their faith through seduction, inducements, hoodwinking, carnal persuasions, withdrawal of help or support, persecutions, holy wars, riots, threats, destruction and terror, instead of allowing GOD to deal with people’s hearts by His Holy Spirit, it is from the evil one, not from the One and only true GOD.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!!
“Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before His face.
And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.
And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”
But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village. Luke 9:51-56 NKJV
