THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (WEDNESDAY 15TH April 2026)

“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:12-14 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 105TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY

What a devotional text to glean some refreshing truths from this morning. The word of the LORD is eternal and timeless, hence having the spiritual capacity to speak to the hearts of any generation each time it is read or studied.

The Bible says by it, we are warned, edified, instructed, directed, or guided.

By it, we live because man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. Our destiny is defined, rescued, unleashed or discovered by the word of the LORD. It is in His word we find His voice, and in His voice, we find our destiny, something to live our days pursuing.

The Bible teaches what we are to live our days pursuing, as our prophetic destiny. It describes it as the things written in the volume or scroll of the books concerning us, preplanned programs or will of God that we are to delight ourselves in doing. It says,

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.
Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book, it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.” Psalm 40:6-8NKJV

The scroll of the book is real in the Spirit and contains the secrets of the end times, the content of our divine destinies, and other classified information of God’s activities on earth that only Jesus can open for us. Our days are designed to be lived according to the content of the scrolls.

WITH A BONDING WITH THE LORD AND AN OPENED SPIRITUAL EAR, WE CAN LIVE OUR DAYS ACCORDING TO THE SCROLL OF THE BOOKS.

Due to the importance of living our days according to the content of the scroll, God would prefer us having an open spiritual ear that hears Him and a will that does as He says, to the offering of sacrifices to Him. That is what the scripture teaches.

An open spiritual ear will offer acceptable sacrifices and live his days according to His will. An open spiritual ear will make life decisions according to the scroll or volume of the books, and according to the content of his prophetic destiny. Yes, an open spiritual ear will live his or her days delighting to do the will of God and run his or her life according to His laws.

A person who live their lives that way will create a lifestyle that allows God’s kingdom to come on earth and His will done in Cities, families, towns, nations, and wherever they live. They will live their days as written in Heaven and function as God’s kingdom assets on earth.

Paul the apostle was one of such people. Our devotional text is a quote from him. Come to think of it, a quote that was exalted to the position of the word of God through the canonization of the scriptures. That is why it need our total attention, and that is why the Spirit of God has used it for over one thousand eight hundred years to work on people’s lives. The quote says,

WHAT A LIFE WE SEE HERE! INDEED, IT WAS A LIFE THAT IS NOT OF THIS WORLD. THE VERY LIFE JESUS SAID WE SHOULD LIVE.

The content of the scripture is a perfect description of a life that is living its days according to the scroll of the books. It knows why it was saved, because Jesus had granted it the revelation of what is written in the scroll for it. For Paul, he first got it on the way to Damascus. It was an encounter that imparted into His spirit the prophetic purpose of his life and the destiny he was born to pursue.

In one of his defenses before an ancient law court, where roman authorities sit as judge, he said this:

“While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me.

And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, Acts 26:12-19 NKJV

We can see how the LORD opened the heart of Paul to what was written in the scroll of the books concerning him, things he was created to do with His life. He was to live his days as a minister and a witness both of the things which he had seen and the things which Jesus will yet reveal to him from the volume or scroll of the books.

He was to live his days opening the eyes of the Gentiles to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sin and an inheritance among they that are sanctified.

THEN THERE WAS A PROMISE OF THE BLESSING OF DIVINE PROTECTION FOR THE MISSION.

Part of the best lines of this scripture says, “I was not disobedient to the Heavenly vision.” In other words, I decided to live my days in sync with my life purpose, despite the difficulties of being arrested here and there and being lied against and brought to courts like this.

That is how our spiritual lives are designed to be lived, and that is the clarity that is needed in our understanding of what to live them for.

We do not exist just to get married, bear children, become rich, and enjoy the pleasure of all that till we die. We were created for a higher purpose than that. But that purpose is written in the scroll of the books concerning us. Our lives will only be meaningful if we find it and press daily towards its fulfillment.

So, find a church that will function as a prophetic hearing aid for you to find it. Yes, a man of God that will help you build a stronger bond with Jesus until you sync your days with what is written concerning you in the scrolls. That is one of the wisest things to do as a believer in Christ this end time. God will lead you!!

I have come to discover that every reformer God ever used to rekindle the flames of His Holy Spirit, feed on the very things we are sharing this morning to come into such a powerful life. You are the next on God’s list.

Heaven will be full of men and women who came into the understanding of what is written concerning them in the volume or scroll of the books and lived like burnt offerings to the LORD to bring it to pass while being alive on earth. Sadly, hell will be full of those who did not.

If you are not pressing into the reason why Jesus got you saved, you are wasting your days on earth and not living them as you should. It is my prayer that the LORD will use this devotional to stir a fire within us, a fresh prophetic fire, so that we begin to press into that which made God to apprehend us like Paul did. Amen

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY,

“Then a certain Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good testimony with all the Jews who dwelt there, came to me; and he stood and said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight.’ And at that same hour I looked up at him.

Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth. For you will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.” Acts 22:12-15 NKJV
