TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (TUESDAY 21ST July 2026)
“Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. He will repay my enemies for their evil. Cut them off in your truth.”
“I will freely sacrifice to you; I will praise your name, O Lord, for it is good. For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.” Psalm 54:4-7 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 202ND DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!
For 202 days God has been our helper, and for the rest of the days He will remain our helper. We have seen His mercies, His kindness, His peace, His compassion, His power, His presence, His provision and all that constitute His redemption package for our lives.
The Bible is full of things He did that can be repeated in our lives.
If you want Him to move in your life, sometimes you will need the knowledge of those things. In the book of Exodus for example, you find the story of how He smashed the gods of Egypt, pulled Israel out of the iron fist of Pharaoh, parted the red sea, kept them for 40 years in the hot desert. He can do all that in our lives.
In the book of Genesis, you find how He created all things from nothing, helping us to understand how we can be made successful by Him from nothing tangible.
Meaning, when you can stand on that and pray to Him to bless you financially, maritally or any other way, especially if there is nothing tangible that He can use to work the miracle or place in your life the blessing you are asking Him for. He has a history of creating things out of nothing, and that is enough comfort.
The records exist in the scriptures to give us a clue of what He can do and the faith to approach Him for it in prayer, especially when in need of the same moves. The Bible says He sent a word to Jacob (a reference to the generation that seeks the LORD) and it lighten all Israel (those called out of darkness into His marvelous light in every generation).
That is why when you are praying for the LORD to move in your life, you must do so standing on an understanding or a revelation of things He had done in time past. If you do not have that knowledge, your prayer will be like blowing hot air into the Skye.
IT WILL NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED WEIGHT TO CAUSE CHANGES.
We have been looking at righteous prayer as a tool for dedicating ourselves to the LORD. Righteous prayers are prayed sometimes with the revelation knowledge of what the LORD did in time past or in the days of the Bible and promised to still do in our days.
When we pray righteous prayers, God will reveal Himself in power. When GOD reveals Himself in power, Satan cannot manifest Himself.
The Bible says, “say unto GOD, how great are you. Through the greatness of your power shall your enemy submit themselves.” That was why, when GOD created man in the beginning, He placed Him on the wings of His power, and when He birth the Church, He also placed her on the wings of power.
It was not just any power, but apostolic power. But they stirred it into manifestation through righteous prayers. The Bible says, at one time they said to themselves;
“Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:3-4 NKJV
You see the apostolic resolve in this scripture.
It was a resolve for righteous prayers that resulted in the outbreak of apostolic power. They gave themselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word because through the word they found faith positions to pray; revelations of what God has done in the past to stand on and ask Him to do in the present.
In prophetic terms, we can say standing on the revelation of what God has done under the former rain, and praying that He do the same in the latter rain, a season we live in. When we do that, power will break out.
THE APOSTLES DID THAT AND APOSTOLIC POWER BROKE FORTH.
Their lives teaches that one of the many reasons to be men and women of righteous prayer is that we may walk in power. It takes apostolic power to make it through a world like ours today; a world that is under the sway of the wicked one; a world full of people with capacity to hate you for no just cause.
A world where when you are healthy, people wish you would become sick, and when you become sick, they wish you die so that they use your death as a decoy to raise money. And if you eventually die, they wish you go to hell, and even before your death is announced to anyone, your properties will be shared, if you have any.
Perhaps if God have mercy on you and send you back to life, they will be so angry because they would have to give back what they shared among themselves while they thought you had gone for good. Some will even become religious, questioning why GOD allowed you to return.
Friend, that is the kind of world we live in. If you do not therefore, spend your days in righteous prayers, standing on the revelation of what is in the scriptures, you will not unlock the apostolic power you need not to fulfill the will of your enemies. A life that is not lived from the prayer knee will fulfill the will of its enemies because it will lack the apostolic power not to fulfill.
The most miserable people on the face of the earth, are the powerless.
These are not days of living a powerless life. You will be eaten by devils, and cut down by aggrieved people, if you are powerless in the spirit as a Child of God. That is why the first gift God gives us, as soon as we become genuinely saved, is apostolic power, and the first thing He drives us to do is prayer and hunger for the word; the purpose is to keep our lives aflame or active with His power.
The Bible says, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:” (John 1:11 kjv). This is the scripture that makes power a product of prayer. As you lean on the scriptures to pray, you move God in heaven to unleash His power into your life because salvation has given you the right or power to have it and live your days as a son of God.
ONLY MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD’S POWER MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN A DARK WORLD LIKE OURS.
God knows the kind of world we live in that is why power is the first gift He gives to us, and as we build and keep a healthy prayer life, it increases in manifestation. He knows we live in a world that one cannot survive without apostolic power, hence making the heritage the first fruit of genuine salvation experience.
At this point, it is important to know the definition of this beautiful treasure we unlock from heaven through the prayer knee. The treasure we called apostolic power. What is apostolic Power? How do we encounter the power?
The word apostolic describes anything that relates with either the teachings of the 12 Original apostles of the lamb or the New Testament. Apostolic power therefore is the very power that the original 12 apostles and the early Church walked in. It is also called the resurrection power.
That was the power that backed every apostolic work on the face of the earth in the first hundred years of the Church and is still present with us today. That is what we experience every time we meet in our church services or weekly meetings, or even conferences and summits.
Friend, it is very costly to spend a moment of your life without the apostolic power! Paul describes the marvelous acts of that power as “signs of an apostle.” He wrote to the Church at Corinth saying, “Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.” 2 Corinthians 12:12 NKJV
The sign of a true apostle of Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the glory of God with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds in his ministry. The manifestation of God’s glory is Heaven’s way of authenticating or validating things that proceeds from the throne room, apostolic and prophetic ministries inclusive.
ONE MAJOR WAY YOU CAN TAP INTO THIS POWER IS TO JOIN ANY APOSTOLIC AND PROPHETIC TEACHING MINISTRY FLOWING IN IT.
If you do, your life will not remain the same. God will begin to deliver you out of all trouble and your eyes will begin to see your desire on your enemies. The only trouble you may not be delivered from, when you are among a people moving in the signs of an apostle, is the one that is ordained to be used as a catalyst for your spiritual advance.
A major highlight in our devotional text this morning says; “For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.”
What is the message of our devotional this morning? The message is simple; you need a regular encounter with God’s apostolic power to succeed in any endeavor of life. To encounter it, you will need to live your days giving yourself entirely to righteous prayers and to the ministry of the word.
You need a regular touch with His apostolic power to get and stay married. You need a regular encounter with this power to be free the curses of life, delivered from spiritual sexual harassment (what you call spiritual husband or wife) and demonic possession.
God did not create the human life to survive outside apostolic power. In Genesis Chapter 1:26-27 that power was called dominion. Dominion was lost at the fall. But now it is restored. You can access it anytime by becoming part of a Church or ministry that moves in apostolic signs like the early Church.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY,
“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.” 1 Corinthians 12:27-28 NKJV
