TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Saturday 23rd January 2021)

“The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”

The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Psalms 110:1-2 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 23rd DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS

Our LORD and savior Jesus Christ have been our keeper and sustainer. I can’t tell how he supplied our needs this month. People call it a month of dryness but we have seen Him turn it into a different month, helping us to me our obligations. Though there are still things to be done, we believe He will complete what He started in Jesus precious name!

We have seen His mercies in our lives and witnessed His marvelous deeds. To Him belong all the glory.

Indeed, as a father pities his Children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him. Our lives prove it even to the dumbest person. He has indeed been a Father to us, that is why it baffles me when people look unto follow human beings for help instead of God. Maybe they do not have relationship with Him, that is why they depend on men for the supply of their needs.

You cannot have relationship with God and not run to Him in time of need. And you will never run to God in time of need without seeing Him meeting that need. There is always abundant of mercies at His throne to find grace to help in time of need.

How this people who trouble men to meet their needs cannot find help from this same God, baffles me.

For example, I have great needs, and you have great needs. We are all Children of God. Then I met God and He supplied my need. Instead of going to meet Him to supply your own need the way I met Him, you prefer coming to me to supply to you from what He has supplied to me. If I keep doing that, one day I will collapse and you will look for another person to kill.

God wants us to be of help to the weak among us and that some of us have been doing. But wisdom demands that everyone learn how to meet the LORD to have their needs supplied so we can have more than we need for His work. Meeting man will not always supply all you need. Meeting God remains the key to having all your needs supplied.

IF A CHRISTIAN CANNOT MEET GOD IN TIME OF NEEDS AND HAVE HIM SUPPLY THEIR NEEDS, IT IS A PROVE OF SOMETHING THAT IS NOT GOOD.

It is a prove that they do not have a fruitful relationship with Him; or maybe they have, but are not in His will or plans for their lives. People in Gods’ plans for their lives do not lack God’s provisions in time of need. He will show them so much mercies, much more than they deserve. That brings us to our devotional text today.

Our devotional text today talks of finding a place in God to sit; finding His right hand and having Him make your enemies your footstool. I believe, it is not just about making our enemies our footstools but having our needs constantly met. Because if He make our enemies our footstool, the devils hindering us will be defeated and our supply released.

Child of God, there are places to sit in God for Him to make your enemies your footstool. That must be where Abraham sat that made God to confront the King who took his wife, because he thought she was his sister. That story will not stop fascinating me. Abraham said his wife was his sister, which is true because in those days they married from close relatives.

The king never knew the details, he ended up taking the beautiful Sarai to be his wife. In fact, he must have paid some monies to Abram. Then God struck. The Bible says,

“But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, “Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.”

“But Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, “Lord, will You slay a righteous nation also? Did he not say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she, even she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and innocence of my hands I have done this.”

And God said to him in a dream, “Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.

Now therefore, restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.” Genesis 20:3-7 NKJV

Do you what I see in this scripture? God can restrain us from sinning against Him if He could restrain this king from sleeping with Sarai. That is why it is very wise to pray for help each time we are tempted to sin. He will send us the help by restraining us from falling into the sin.

BUT OUR POINT OF CONSIDERATION IS IN HOW GOD INTERVENED FOR ABRAM. THERE MUST BE A PLACE THAT MAN SAT IN GOD THAT MADE GOD DO THAT.

We must locate that place and sit too to have Him breaking out against our enemies. The world is becoming more wicked. You find even people you once helped in life attacking you with no just course.

As a preacher, often I find myself in situations where people will join the Church you pastor, and you will receive them in as sons or daughters and begin to sacrifice both spiritually and physically for their well being. Then things will change for them for the better and they will leave the Church, and after a while you find them joining the sons of wrath to attack your person.

If you look at your own life, you could find such senseless attacks being launched against you as well.

There is a barrage of senseless attacks coming upon the elects these days that you will think the people coordinating those attacks are simply mad. If we do not find that place in God and sit, then allow Him break out and shut these folks down, the blasphemies will continue.

It is good to have enemies. At least they help to keep us on our feet while walking with the LORD. They are a prove that you are a person of substance. In other words, if you do not have enemies, it’s a sign that you are of no value to God or the human race.

Do you see the number of enemies Donald Trump has? it’s a sign of his value to God and man. Many were made his enemies by the corrupt media that reported things that were not true about him.

A man of God once said “if you do not have enemies, you are an imbecile. Only fools and worthless people do not have enemies.” But when they begin to weary and weaken you, that is when Heaven need to roar.

Yes, when they become dangerous God has a way of putting them under your feet. That is why People who carry seeds of destiny in them need God by their side, at all time, to move successfully from the declaration to the manifestation.

When God called Abraham, the first blessing that He spoke into his life was protection against his enemies. He said to him,

“I will bless those that bless you, and curse those who curse you.”

THAT WAS TO TAKE AWAY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF FIGHTING ENEMIES FROM ABRAHAM TO HIMSELF.

But it also reveals something deeper. There are people who want you dead this very moment. There are those who want your marriage, ministry, or business to fail. People of destiny are usually surrounded by enemies. Some known, others unknown.

Irrespective of what they are, God wants us to handle them without breaking the royal law of love. The Royal Law of walking in Love, praying for them, and not wishing them what they wish us. Do not forget, Jesus said we should love our enemies, and God Himself said that vengeance is His not ours. That is why it is safe to find that place in God and sit and allow Him take care of them.

His will for us has not changed. Yes, God’s will for our lives is that our enemies do not prevail against us. The Bible says;

“[It is a fair decision] since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction those who distress and afflict you,” 2 Thessalonians 1:6 AMP

This scripture makes it clear that it’s a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction everyone who distresses and afflicts us – and He does it His own way not our own ways. That is why we do not need to pray about it. We do not need to pray against them either. We could ask the LORD for help like we always do, but finding that place in Him to sit, and watching Him take care of them remain the best.

Yes, as we remain intimate with Him, He will send decrees by the Hands of His Holy Spirit and release His holy angels to execute those decrees in the lives of those who hate and attack us. Yes, He will move marvelously against our enemies. The Bible says,

“The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him. The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.” Psalms 37:32-33 NKJV

If you are in the hands of the wicked, God is saying to you this morning that He will not leave you in his hands or allow you to be condemned when you are judged.

As earlier stated, our devotional text today contains some truths and prophetic instructions to glean from to see God move marvelously in our battle against those the enemy may be using against us. The first says,

“Sit at My right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.”

THAT WAS A MESSIANIC DECLARATION REVEALED TO DAVID.

First, it refers to Christ and by extension to us – His redeemed ones. The truth here is, if you can locate the right hand of God’s will for your life in every decision you want to take, and sit there, God will just be making your enemies your footstool.

The key therefore lies in locating it in the Spirit and governing your earthly life accordingly.

Now how do you locate that place in the Spirit and govern your earthly life accordingly? That is where the second scriptural verse in our devotional text comes in to help us. It says;

“The Lord shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!”

Zion is the prophetic name of the Church. It also describes a realm in the Spirit that we all assemble to fellowship with the LORD. Which makes a true Church service a unique place to be – a place to always receive strength to rule in the midst of your enemies. That is why we always find strength whenever we gather at a living Church service where Heavenly things happen.

There are certain graces God has positioned in a living Church that brings the saints into this realm – the realm of sitting at God’s right hand until our earthly enemies are made our footstool.

In the days of the early Church the two graces were the apostolic and prophetic graces. The Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers God raised in their days usually position themselves under the same graces to see the same blessing speak in their lives and ministries. I have come to discover that the basic assignment of prophetic and apostolic ministries is to help us sense the place of God’s right hand, and impart us with grace and truth to take our seat there for our enemies to become our footstool.

If you see your enemies prevailing against you therefore in whatever you may be doing, it’s a sign that you are yet to locate that place in your walk with God! You need to sit under apostolic and prophetic ministries by content, not by titles, to find the place.

The truth remains, God does not want our enemies prevailing against us. He wants to make them our footstool. You must understand that and take the proper spiritual position in the spirit to see it come to pass.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY;

“Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.”

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret — it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.” Psalms 37:1-9 NKJV
