TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 2ND May 2026)
“To him who by means of his power working in us is able to do so much more than we can ever ask for, or even think of: to God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 GNT
WELCOME TO THE 122nd DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
The LORD began this month by showing us what to spend each day of the month seeking, which is His power that can only be found in His presence. I hope we have factored that into our lives. In life, it is what you seek that defines you. It is what you seek in spirit and in truth, either good or bad, that defines you and shapes your life, because you will ultimately find it.
God wants us to live our days this month seeking His power, His everlasting and ultimate power.
If we seek it in His presence, we will find it and it will define us. It will define our faith, our world view, our passions, our peace, our progress and our everything. It will define even our financial lives, our marital lives, our desires and vision for living.
It will define how adversity leaves us. It will define us beyond what words may capture accurately.
You see, if there is any time we need God’s power, it is now. Apart from the things that were outlined yesterday, the prophetic times and seasons that we live in has a lot of reasons, too strong to be ignored. The first I want to highlight is in the Book of 2 Timothy. The Bible says:
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV
THIS BIBLE PROPHECY TELLS US EXACTLY THE TIMES WE LIVE IN.
Now, how can you survive a time when men, a word used in Bible days to describe both genders, are lovers of themselves? What is the reason for wars, killings, destruction, wickedness, poor leadership in all human strata and all that? It is because people have become lovers of themselves.
Some are lovers of money, consequently, living like the roots of all evil personified. Others are boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, and all that. Survival in such an environment cannot be by might or by power but by the spirit of the LORD.
Survival in an environment of hearts that cannot forgive, people without self-control, brutal men and women, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, is not something that can be achieved if one is not walking in a power that is more than the powers of this age.
Sadly, that is the environment we live in, the age that we all were born into and now live in, seeing what happens daily. God is saying to us, “walk in my power this month. Seek my presence this month and make sure you walk in the power of the age to come.” He is saying that to us because an age like this is full of unpredictable things. No one knows what is coming!!
A world created by the spiritual environment that constitutes our age, will be a world of witchcraft, sin, ungodliness, unclean spirits and evil, assassinations, haters of God, haters of all that God stands for and all who stands truly with Him, smear campaigns, slander, blackmail, targeted killings, ethnic cleansing, political tensions, apocalyptic views, religious darkness, and intense family disagreements. One must walk in the power of the age to come, and that is the power of God, to live, succeed, prosper, prevail and be victorious in this age.
If you are not going to obey God and seek Him this month on daily bases for power, standing on scriptures that promised us His power, you might regret not doing so. God is not a talkative. He is the GOD who lives and speaks.
IN MOMENTS LIKE THIS, HIS SHEEP MUST HEAR HIS VOICE, THE VOICE OF A STRANGER THEY MUST NOT FOLLOW.
One of the many reasons to seek His presence for the purpose of walking in His power, is not just because of the possibility of being harmed by these dangerous people that constitutes our times, but the negative energy they emit into our lives without knowing it. It is because of that spiritually corrupt energy they emit the Bible we should turn away from them.
It did not say we should get married to them, share covenant relationships with them. It says we should turn away from them. If we are sentimental and keep them around us, we will be corrupted, defiled, and eventually destroyed.
For instance, if you are among people who are despisers of good and cruel, you will not live long if you are not under the protection of God’s power. You will only survive, because you are walking in and protected by God’s power. If the power of God is not there, you will be in trouble.
We can see that in the life of the Angels God sent to assess the lands of Sodom and Gomorrah for judgment. Lot lived in that an environment. They also went there to rescue him before judgment fell. They people wanted to defile them through Sodomy, but the power of God they walk in was engaged, the people who wanted to defile them were struck with blindness, and they escape their attack. The Bible says:
“Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”
So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him, and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!
See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.
But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.” Genesis 19:4-11 NKJV
YOU WILL NEED TO WALK IN POWER THE WAY THIS ANGELS DID, TO SURVIVE UNHOLY AND CRUEL PEOPLE.
You will need to be able to struck some wicked people with blindness by the power of the LORD to escape their attacks. Sometimes, you will need to struck them with confusion and scatter them in different direction through prayer else you will be killed before your time.
This kind of raw moves of God are still available for us today. It’s just that carnality has prevented us from walking in such realms.
If we walk in power like those angels did, we can do anything to protect ourselves from the evil of our age. The Bible has other people who struck cruel and unholy people with blindness. Elisha did that at one time and saved himself from premature death and shame. The Bible says:
“When the Syrians attacked, Elisha prayed, “O Lord, strike these men blind!” The Lord answered his prayer and struck them blind.
Then Elisha went to them and said, “You are on the wrong road; this is not the town you are looking for. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are after.” And he led them to Samaria.
As soon as they had entered the city, Elisha prayed, “Open their eyes, Lord, and let them see.” The Lord answered his prayer; he restored their sight, and they saw that they were inside Samaria. 2 Kings 6:18-20 GNT
I BELIEVE THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT NEED TO WALK IN THIS KIND OF POWER THIS MONTH TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE MONTH.
Satan is not kidding with us, we must not take things for granted.
The God who makes blind eyes to see, can make seeing eyes to go blind if those who own those eyes are using it against His purposes for our lives. Anyone who is using the power of sight that God gave them to harm you as a saved and sanctified child of God, you must request God that the loose that power. Simple!
That was what those angels did, and that was what Elisha did to protect his life. And if you think that it is an Old Testament thing, I want to submit to you that Paul the apostle also did it at one time and saved his ministry from being hindered by a sorcerer. You will find that in Acts chapter 13. Our Devotional text says:

His glory is for all times. It is to His glory those eyes were made blind.
So, if the same Power that worked in them is working in us, we will do exactly what they did in their age and time in our own age and time. God sent this word so you can accept His invitation to come meet Him for the faith and power to do exploits and give Him the glory by saving your life from the perils of the perilous times.
It is my prayer that we will all hear His voice this morning and not harden our hearts. Amen and amen!!

For we are all partners with Christ if we hold firmly to the end the confidence we had at the beginning. This is what the scripture says:
“If you hear God’s voice today, do not be stubborn, as your ancestors were when they rebelled against God.” Hebrews 3:14-15 GNT
