TODAY’S DEVOTION (MONDAY 20TH MARCH 2023)
“Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids. Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.” Proverbs 6:4-5 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 79TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS!
We thank God for His mercies in our lives and unending kindness. His faithfulness is amazing and lovingkindness new every morning.
He is the purifier of the sons of Levi. He purifies us by convicting us of our sins, stirring us towards righteousness and doing so much than our mouths can say. One of the major reasons why He does these things is to protect His Holy Seed in our lives.
He does not just purify, wash, cleans, or purge us to protect the holy seed, He also shows us mercy for the sake of the holy seed we carry.
For instance, when Samson ran into trouble waters with Delilah, God showed Him mercy and his hair grew again. The Bible says the troubles waters were so bad that his eyes were plugged out of there sockets, and he was chained and made a grinder in the prison.
In another words, they redirected his strength to walk for them instead of work against them, because it had been working against them, destroying them wherever Samson went. That is the strategy of the devil for every one of us who carries the holy seed; that is what he does any time we break our rules of engagement with God, and run into the trouble waters of the consequences of our sins.
The enemy will afflict us, then redirect our strength, wisdom, might, understanding and all that, to serve his purposes. We must know that.
Understand that he will not always destroy carriers of the holy seed at once, he will rather make some work for the very purposes they were born to destroy. All spiritual war fare centers around that; around neutralizing or redirecting the holy seed to prosper the works of darkness instead of destroy them.
That is why he deals brutally with carriers of the holy seed when he captures them by any means, and then subject them to prosper what they were designed to destroy.
BUT GOD IS ALSO MERCIFUL, AS WE CAN SEE IN THE LIFE OF SAMSON.
While Samson was under the torture of his enemies for sinning against the LORD, the LORD did not join the enemy to torture Samson for sinning against him. Neither did the LORD thought of judgment at that time. He did not even send a rebuke to Samson.
The LORD rather took the seat of mercy on Samson, and made sure the hair of his head grew again.
The Bible says it did, and Samson unleashed the manifestation of the power of the holy seed he carried, more at His death than in all of his 20 years of ministry.
Why would God, enable a breaker of his rules to finish that strong? It is because of the holy seed he carried. Whenever we do things that brings us to our enemies’ chains, God will not take the judgment seat, he will take the mercy seat.
He will not be pointing us to our sins at that time, and if he does, it will not be to punish us, but to bring us to repentance so that we can allow His power to break out through us against our enemies.
Samson would later unleash all that He was born to unleash, despite what he did with God’s rules in his life, and what the enemy did to him. That is what God enables us to do because of the holy seed we carry.
I have shared on this platform before (years back), about the two kinds of mercies God has. In God’s kingdom, there is God’s great mercies and there is God’s mercies. God’s great mercies are for carriers of the precious word, the holy seed; while God’s mercies are for the rest.
Great mercies are deployed on a carrier of the holy seed when he or she runs into trouble waters. Until then, he operates at the level of God’s mercies. We see that also in the life of David, and some of the other carriers of the holy seed in trouble waters.
THE HISTORY OF THE ENTIRE NATION OF ISRAEL ITSELF IS LITTERED WITH THE SAME TRUTH.
For David, the Bible says;
“For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’” So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.”
And Nathan said to David, “The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die. However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”
Then Nathan departed to his house. 2 Samuel 12:12-15 NKJV
What did David do? He lusted after Beersheba, the wife of Uriah, and did not stop there but brought her in and slept with her. Then when she got pregnant, he killed her husband and married her to cover up. But God blew the lid, not to the entire nation of Israel, but to His prophet alone, and moved him to go meet David confidentially and rebuke him.
You will be shocked to discover that this story was not known among the generation of David, even for many years to come. It only became public when the Bible was written. David and the prophet alone heard those words.
There are truths to uncover here; first of all, why would God who says we should have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but expose them do that? Why would he not expose the secret sin of David, to the entire nation, but to his prophet only?
Why would God hide it, and decide to bring it to the ears of his prophet alone? It is because God does not strip the nakedness of carriers of His holy seed, He only strips the nakedness of carriers of the seed of the evil one. He will rebuke his holy seed, correct them, but never strip their nakedness bare for all to see except they become very rebellious, putting what they carry in danger.
If the nakedness of carriers of the holy seed is stripped randomly, it will ruin God’s eternal plans. David was carrying the messianic seed. If God had told what he did to every ear on the streets, or subjected him to the full consequences of his sin, it would have destroyed God’s eternal plan that the holy seed that David carried was to execute.
SO, SINCE DAVID COULD REPENT QUICKLY UNLIKE SAUL, GOD’S GREAT MERCIES WERE DEPLOYED TO HIM.
The prophet just said to him, “The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die. However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”
Meaning the only consequence would be the death of the Child, not even the things the prophet has said earlier.
The prophet had said,
“Thus says the LORD: ‘Behold, I will raise up adversity against you from your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’ ” (2 Samuel 12:11-12 NKJV).
But as soon as David repented, this judgment was repealed. It was repealed because of the holy seed David carried.
However, the devil who was watching and waiting to celebrate, was not happy about it.
The Old Testament penalty for what David did was death, even if the man or woman repent or not. So, the enemy was waiting to see David killed and the holy seed he carried eliminated by God’s own justice system. But was disappointed when God’s great mercies were deployed to save him instead, at the instance of David’s repentance and plea for mercy.
He would then find Amnon and Absalom, two rascal sons of David, and use them to do what looked like the prophetic judgment Nathan declared on David. Amnon raped Tamar his half-sister, and in revenge Absalom, the brother of Tamar killed Amnon and fled. He would later return, courtesy of David’s magnanimity, but continue in his evil ways.
He would later dethrone David after months of scheming.
Sadly, when David was going through the tribulation of his son, he ascribed it to God, thereby refusing to resist him, and all who joined in the conspiracy. David was dethroned for three months and his concubines where desecrated publicly by his son. Thank God it was not his wives that were desecrated by David’s neighbor (a king close by) as the prophet had said.
VICTORY ONLY CAME, NOT WHEN GOD DEPLOYED ANGELS, BUT WHEN DAVID CAME TO HIS SPIRITUAL SENSES.
God was watching David, and expecting him to stand on the mercies He had shown him, and not see the tantrums the enemy was throwing at him as punishment from Heaven for his sin – which had already been forgiven. God wanted David to stand on the mercies He had shown him and deliver himself from the snare. Our devotional text says;
“Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids. Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.” Proverbs 6:4-5 NKJV
I have come to discover that many of us in the faith do make the David’s mistake. The enemy will network with our flesh to push us to sin, and God will forgive us of the sin at the instance of our repentance. Then the enemy will become mad at it, and begin to throw tantrums at us. But instead of standing on God’s mercies to resist him steadfastly, we will submit to the adversity created, ascribing it to God.
That is how many carriers of the holy seed have been destroyed.
The message of today is to help us walk in righteousness before God, but if we fall into sin at anytime and cry unto God for mercy and forgiveness, we should remember that we have an advocate, stand on the mercies He will release to us, and hold on to GOD’s word of promise.
If the enemy becomes mad at it, and begin to throw things at us, we should stand steadfastly in the faith and the mercy that the LORD has shown us, and deliver ourselves through prayers, from all he may throw at us. God will be available to make sure we have victory.
Child of God, understand that His mercies are a major investment He makes for the prosperity of His holy seed, and it is not just His great mercies, but His entire throne room moves. They are the investments He sends into our lives for the prosperity of matters that concerns His holy seed on the face of the earth.
THE BIBLE IS VERY CLEAR THAT WHEN IT COMES TO HOLY SEED MATTERS, GOD WILL DO ANYTHING WITHIN HIS WILL TO MAKE SURE ITS PURPOSE IS FULFILLED.
God is serious on matters of His holy seed because the redemption of man is the greatest project of Heaven on earth, and the holy seeds in the many souls who have responded to salvation, are the divine instrument of execution.
In simple terms, God’s holy seed in you is what He will use to execute His redemptive plan for people around your life,
sometimes even those beyond your reach. And God holy seed in me is what He will use to execute his redemptive plan in the lives of people around my life, and those beyond my reach. So, as you carry yours and I carry mine, His redemptive plan for all is executed. I hope you understand me.
So, He will do everything within His will to make sure we survive any fall, any assault, or any evil that may befall us, or that we may bring upon ourselves. He will among other beautiful things, show us great mercies in the midst of it.
As a carrier of the holy seed, therefore, understand that the redemption of man is God’s greatest project on earth, and the holy seed you carry is His greatest instrument for executing it as you Network with His holy spirit.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV
