THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 26TH JANUARY 2025)

“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds\ from the mouth of the Lord.”

“Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.” Deuteronomy 8:3-5 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 26TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY.

Today shall be for us a day of God’s Rhema word; in other words, “God’s proceeding word.” The Bible is made up of the logos and the Rhema; the spirits and the letters, the spoken and the written word.

The spirit and the spoken are the Rhema aspect of God’s word.

They are full of truth and Biblical accuracy. They form Christ in people because they are Bible truths with the breath of God in them. They confront error and neutralizes the spirit of the anti-Christ.

That is why any so called Rhema gathering that left fake prophets, heretic preachers, first born redemption apostles, pot breaking bishops, and altar silencing, breaking or raising preachers standing, is a fake Rhema gathering. Sadly, the ones we have today even make such people guest speakers.

The authentic Rhema gathering took place in the days of Paul the apostle. If you place that one, side by side with the so many Rhema gatherings today, you will see that these ones are fake.

You will understand that any so called Rhema gathering that has preachers of half-truths as guest speakers, is a counterfeit Rhema gathering.

A true Rhema Gathering is the gathering of individual members of the Body of Christ, to have their hearts circumcised with living apostolic truths, and their spirits elevated to come to the place of holiness, righteousness, deep hunger for the LORD, apostolic Christianity and thorough understanding of scriptures.

A true rhema encounter, either between you and Christ in secret or in a corporate rhema gathering, will take you out of the earthly and connect you to the eternal. It will not leave you in any erroneous doctrine or old testament shadows.

It will bring you to the place of opening the pages of the scriptures to study with a pure and honest heart, thereby, finding the logos, the letters, or the written word, that will enable you to find God’s rhema or spoken word for your life. You will be led by the Holy Spirit into such rhema moments, filling your soul with the testimony of Jesus Christ; the Spirit of prophecy.

WHEN A WORD IS TRULY A TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST, IT WILL BE SCRIPTURAL AND SOUND.

It will tally with the doctrine that produced the faith that was once and for all delivered to our fathers. That is why you will never find it contradicting the written word of GOD, the Bible, in any way. You can have your own private rhema moments with the LORD, if you have the Bible in your hands.

I am saying all these to tell us that, if we make 2025 our year of multiple rhema moments, especially in our prayer closets, we will find great prophetic power and Bible insights to guide us in our day to day affairs, bringing us to the place of seeing our righteous expectations for the year, come to pass.

God want to be speaking to us on daily bases, if we do not let Him, we will just wither away in so many aspects of our lives. So, personal rhema moments will be a necessity this year. It is what God says to us on daily bases, that qualifies to be used in running the affairs of our lives.

That is what to make the meditation of our hearts each day, and each night.

It will guide us not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, or stand in the ways of sinners, or sit on the seat of the scornful. It will redirect our delight in life to be in the word of the LORD, as we meditate on it day and night. The consequence will be the release of a blessing that will make sure that whatever we do in 2025 will prosper.

The Bible says;

“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV

May our lives be like this tree that brings forth it’s fruits in its season. May we live lives that do not wither. But as we can see in this scripture, the secret to that is not in using oil, salt or water. It is not raising altars or silencing them.

IT IS MEDITATING IN THE WORD DAY, AND NIGHT.

Friend, do not live your life this year, following just what is on the local newspaper or online. Live it receiving a word from the LORD day and night, and making it our meditation. If you do, the blessing of the LORD depicted in the scripture above, will become visible in your life.

This is a call to daily Rhema moments. It is a call to be tuning your spirit to receive a word of truth and righteousness daily. It is a call to hear from God day and night, and to hear right.

Traditionally, God does not speak in contradiction to His written word. So, to have your rhema moment, even while alone with Him, you must engage in comparative study of the word. You must not stand on one single scripture and come out with a word from the LORD, you must stand in the spirit of the scriptures even if it is in one scriptural passage.

Avoid feelings by all means. We do not feel God! We sense God. So, do not operate on the realms of feelings. Go for the true word and what it says, and all will be well. With a pure heart, or a hungry soul, you will find the LORD so easily, feeding you with what comes our of His mouth like the mother eagle does to her eaglets.

A major Highlight of our devotional text says;

“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”

This scripture presents one primary purpose why God passes His children through hard times. In this case it says, to make them know, or come to deep convictions born out of experiential knowledge. The essence is to make them crave for the proceeding word more than the food they eat.

Yes, God want us to be word eaters in 2025, so that nothing will eat us. People who feed on the word, cannot be fed on by their enemies.

ARE YOU READY TO BE FED?

As we bring this to a close, understand that God’s will is to have a prophetic people on the face of the earth; people who do not depend on anyone for a word from the LORD, but live by what comes out of the mouth of the LORD to them, especially, during their Holy Ghost initiated personal Rhema Moments, where He opens their ears or quickens their hearts to perceive receive a word from the LORD.

The Bible says,

“The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.

The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away.” Isaiah 50:4-5 NKJV

It is in our personal Rhema moments that scriptures like this are fulfilled. Today, it has become too dangerous to depend on another for a prophetic word for your life. Create personal Rhema moments, and all will be well.

A lot of people who give words of prophecy these days, are full of secret sins, most are impure and just religious.

While others are spiritually ignorant and dangerous. Some are lesbians and sex addicts. Others are masturbators and liars, and because the true Holy Spirit does not use unholy vessels, except He purges them of their filths, it is dangerous to let them have your ears.

Your personal Rhema moments is the key to most of the significant things that will happen to you this year.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY;

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.” Psalm 32:8-10 NKJV
