TODAY’S DEVOTION (Monday 8th September 2025)
“He who plans to do evil will be called a mischief-maker.
The plans of the foolish and the thought of foolishness are sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to men.If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” Proverbs 24:8-10 AMPC
WELCOME TO THE 251ST DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
God be praised for giving us another day! In fact, He did not just give us another day, He gave us another week. It is my prayer that each day of the week will load your life with benefits and fill it with the goodness of the LORD in Jesus precious name.
When I became part of the charismatic church, statements like, “God is taking you through a divine process” were heard from the mouth of prayer warriors, prophetic people and very concerned preachers. I guess that might be what you experienced too. My mum was told that repeatedly due to the suffering we were experiencing.
Things were getting worse by the day, and we kept looking forward to when the process would come to an end. At one time we gave up because it was like the process would be forever. None told us when it will end and we were left confused on so many things, until we begin to grow in the faith and come to understanding.
Becoming a studious teacher of God’s word helped me a lot to uncover more about the subject. In today’s devotional we will be looking at a few things I learned. It is my prayer that the LORD use it to stir your heart and fill your faith with all it needs to move from the declaration of God’s promise for your life to the manifestation of it.
Yes, in the prophetic, there is something called the middle ground. The middle ground is the journey between the declaration of God’s word and the manifestation.
Sometimes it can be long. That is where what people call divine process exists. If God gives you a promise, or if He wants to do something in your life, He must pass you through the middle ground. The middle ground is the divine process that we need to pass through, as we transit from the declaration to the place of the manifestation of a promise or blessing from the LORD.
NOT MANY PEOPLE SURVIVE THE MIDDLE GROUND!!
If you read the book of Deuteronomy – Moses’ Valedictory speech – you will realize that Isreal passed through the middle ground. For them it was a place of learning that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. The Bible puts it this way:
“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV
Every divine process has something it teaches us. It is God’s schooling process for men or women of destiny. It is usually painful and full of sufferings that we or God creates. It is a place of learning so many things including how to trust God and rely on Him alone.
As we can see in this scripture, for Israel they were to know that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God. That was the thing of God they learnt for forty years. It was a divine process that lasted for forty years.
That brings us to the things that determine how long a divine process lasts. The answer is simple. First, if what is coming is huge, one will need a longer time to be processed for it. Secondly if your response if poor, it will take a longer time than necessary too. The reason is because a divine process is also a schooling process.
The third determinant is the level of spiritual captivity or slavery; how long one has been in it. For Israel the 400 years of slavery completely damaged their lives. They needed a longer time to be internally reconstructed. I hope you understand us!
I THINK WE NEED TO PUT IT IN MORE CLEAR TERMS.
If you want to know how long you may need to stay in God’s divine process, which also is a training School, you need to know the things that will determine how long you will stay in the process, learning or training:
1. The significance of the blessing God is preparing you for.
2. Your response to His dealings, and
3. How long you may have been in spiritual degradation and ignorance.
In fact, some of us may need to remain in God’s process, training or schooling all our lives. The reason is simple; the enemy has damaged everything in our sanctuary (internal life) and because of our lack of proper response to God, it will take a longer time to recover fully.
Israel took a longer time because God had scheduled that they finished His process for their blessings in 40 days then enter the blessing, which was the land of Canaan. But their slow response turned the 40 days God scheduled into 40 years!
Have you ever heard of undergraduates who took longer years to do a course of very short years? That was what happened to Israel, and I am afraid it is happening to many in the Church today. Some with a worse case than others because they do not even have proper spiritual leaders that Heaven may use to school or process them.
The three determining factors outlined above are only applicable to those who have been blessed with Apostolic and prophetic Graces from the LORD to school them in His things during a divine process. They are not applicable to the lives of those who do not have such teachers of divine will or ways as their spiritual authority.
If you have not been enrolled in a school, you cannot say you will graduate so and so year. God said in His word,
“And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15 NKJV
UNTIL GOD HAS GIVEN YOU A SHEPHERD HIS SPIRIT WILL USE TO FEED YOU, DURING A DIVINE PROCESS, YOU MIGHT NOT COME OUT WELL.
Israel had a Moses that God used to school them. Without Moses, they would not have even known the will and ways of the LORD. The early Church had people like Peter, James, John, and the rest of the apostles. Timothy had an apostle Paul for both a spiritual father and guide. Yours cannot be an exception.
You must have a God given shepherd for those determinants to come into force in your life.
Don’t forget what we began this devotional with – we said divine process with a schooling is God’s way of helping us to build capacity for coming blessings or the manifestation of promises. God will send men to you, spiritual guides He can use to school you during a divine process, basically to help you build spiritual capacity for His blessings.
Most people fail in life not because of the problems they encounter in the journey of life but because they have no capacity in the spirit to withstand things.
A major highlight in our devotional text today says, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” It did not say “if you faint in the day of adversity, your enemies are strong.” He said, “your strength is small.” That is spiritual capacity being brought into focus.
You will need spiritual capacity for a thing in God before bringing you into it. That is the prophetic purpose of a divine process. I hope this will be helpful!!
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY.
“How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to your word. With my whole heart I have sought you; oh, let me not wander from your commandments!
Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me your statutes.
With my lips I have declared all the judgments of your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on your precepts, and contemplate your ways. I will delight myself in your statutes; I will not forget your word.” Psalms 119:9-16 NKJV
