THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 23RD October 2025)

“So, he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.

‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” Zechariah 4:6-7 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 296TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY

The LORD God has kept His word in our lives for 296 days today. Who is like unto Him, among the gods, who keeps promises like Him. No one and there will be none from eternity to eternity. None will be as faithful as He is!!

Words that proceed from His mouth are “containers” of His faithfulness, greatness, authority, and power. They carry everything we need to live and thrive on the face of the earth. That is why the Bible says, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God!” because of the weight of His words.

Every prophetic ear knows that we are in a fresh season in the Body of Christ. Treasures of God’s glory are being dispatched from Heaven to souls that are hungry for more of God on earth daily; souls groaning for reckoning, revival and reformation.

Since the death of Billy Graham, to that of Moris Cerulo and now Dr. Uma Ukpai, the prophecy the LORD gave us when Dr. Billy died, has become clearer. We can now clearly see that a curtain is closing, and another is opening. The one that is opening is that of clear-cut apostolic teaching ministries.

Now, do not be confused with the many titled apostles we see today. That is not what the LORD is talking about. The LORD is referring to the rise of apostles by content, men with the word and kabod to bring moral transformation to the lost.

The Spirit of God made it clear to us in that beautiful word from the LORD, that an army is being prepared in different glory enclaves across the nations of the earth. If you did not believe that word that was shared during the days of the death of Dr. Billy Graham, let the Passing unto glory of God’s great Voice Dr. Uma Ukpai convince you.

BY WAY OF A RECAP, WHEN DR. BILLY DIED IN 2018, HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO HIS 100TH YEAR ON EARTH. HE PASSED ON THE 18TH DAY OF FEBRUARY.

The number 100 is a symbol of fullness – the 100-fold. His death signifies the fullness of times for the reckoning, revival and the later rain reformation that we have been prophesying about to begin. It’s been over seven years since then. Seven later, another legend dies, signifying the close of an era.

How else do you want to Spirit of the LORD to communicate these prophetic truths to us? Friend, this is the time to step into something fresh from the throne room. One of the major blessings this move will bring is the blessing of spiritual maturity, and that is one thing to begin to press into.

The Bible says,

“the heir so long as he is a child is not different from a slave though he is master of all.”

Sadly, if you look at the Church today, you will realize that many heirs of salvation are not different from slaves because they are not mature in the things of God; consequently, suffering what lost sinners alone should suffer, and standing the risk of losing their salvation – a sad possibility that many teaches to be impossible.

Only one who does not study their Bible will believe that it is not possible to lose a salvation. Judas Iscariot had much more but lost it. Adam had everything but lost it. Alexander the Copper smith in the days of Paul had it but lost it.

One major sign that you have lost your salvation is descending into a life of sin, and losing the Holy Spirit, the seal of our salvation. Yes, when you lose your salvation, you will begin to live in the slavery of sin and see nothing wrong with it. The restricting force of the Holy Spirit will no longer exist.

YOU WILL BE EXAGGERATING THE GRACE OF GOD AND EXCUSING YOURSELF.

The exaggeration of God’s grace is when you tell yourself that your active involvement with sins is understood by God, and that His mercies are sufficient. It is when you loose sight of the severity of God. Yes, it is when you tell yourself, instead of repenting, that before you die you will perfect your ways, forgetting that life is a vapor that appears and vanishes after a short period of time.

Sadly, many Christians have become slaves of sin again. They live a life of habitual sins but erroneously see themselves as going to Heaven when they die. I remember the Holy Spirit asking me to preach on “WHICH HEAVEN ARE YOU GOING TO?” in 2018 during one of the services. God wants the church to come into maturity and stop being slaves to sin.

That is why spiritual growth will be a major hallmark of this move. It will bring great teachings that the Church has never heard from this same Bible that all read or hold as a catalyst of spiritual growth.

Spiritual immaturity is a terrible thing. It keeps people in a state of losing their salvation. For instance, many are involved in all forms of infidelity, others live a life of deception like the devil, and many others find themselves overcome by the carnal desire to do the unthinkable because they are not mature.

God does not want this to continue because we will never go to heaven if we die as slaves to sin. That is why the first deliverance Jesus will give you when He meets you is deliverance from the slavery of Sin. The Bible says:

“….And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 NKJV

The truth embedded in this scripture says, “Jesus came to set us free from serving sin in other to make us Heaven bound.” Genuine born-again experience is a child of our decision to accept the sacrificial death of Jesus for our sins, demonstrating it in a resolve not to serve sin again. If you do not press into maturity, you will end up depreciating in grace and becoming slavery of sin.

I BELIEVE THE MESSAGE OF TODAY HAS BEEN PASSED. NOW, LET’S CLOSE THIS BY TALKING ABOUT THE SLAVERY OF SIN AND THE FREEDOM IN CHRIST.

What many of us do not know is that Jesus terminated our slavery to sin by His death on the cross and instituted a new kind of slavery – slavery to righteousness – by the outpouring of His Holy Spirit. It is that outpouring that makes us sons and helps us to live a life of freedom from slavery of sin, Satan and the evil systems of this world.

Everyone who has been freed from the slavery of sin is a son. Sons do not serve sin, they serve righteousness. In other words, they are slaves of righteousness. The Bible says:

“And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness…..For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.” Romans 6:18-19 NKJV

The phrase ‘your members’ in this scripture refer to “our body parts and faculties.” Slavery of sin involves the use of our body parts and faculties to serve sin leading to a sinful life. But slavery of righteousness involves the use of our body parts and faculties to serve righteousness leading to a life of Holiness.

What is the message of our devotional this morning? The message is simple; maturity is the key to actualizing our status as heirs of salvation.

If we do not spend quality time with God (privately or together with other believers) to eat what comes out of His mouth regularly, we will never grew up in our walk with God. We will remain slaves to sin, Satan, and the evil and corrupt systems of this world.

Spiritual maturity will help us present our bodies and faculties to God as instruments of righteousness, serving the LORD as slaves (Slave Sons) of righteousness. However, the Holy Ghost is the facilitator of all that. That is why it is “not by power nor by might but by My Spirit” says the LORD!

You must therefore seek Jesus until He has baptized you with the Holy Ghost and Fire, then plant you in a Church that will help you to become mature in Christ, where you will begin to bring forth fruits of righteousness by presenting your faculties to the LORD as instrument of righteousness. Amen!!

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY;

“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”

“Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.”

“And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

“His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:7-12 NKJV
