TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 6TH JANUARY 2026)
“But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Matthew 12:25-26 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 6TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY
God be glorified for all the victories He has pre-determined for us this year. We are not afraid of what the year holds, because we know what the LORD holds for us this year.
Fear is a child of not knowing, with a pregnancy of not believing. That is why knowing eliminates fear and brings in faith, and one major thing to know is the perfect love of God for His own. It is God’s perfect love that will enable us to finish this year.
It is His perfect love that will shield us from sin and Satan, guide us through this life, taking us through and through and prospering us to excel in His will.
Bible’s definition of God’s perfect love is very interesting. It defines it as a love that is complete or mature. It covers all areas of a man’s life. It cast away the fear of judgment or punishment for repented sins. It takes care of consequences of our life mistakes. It is a selfless love of God that is not conditioned on anything.
When we believe in this love, and come to the knowledge of how it works, we will become confident and without fear of anything. Talking about this love, the Bible says:
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:37-39 NKJV
This scripture teaches that God’s perfect love is a love that we cannot be separated from by death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present or things to come. In Zechariah chapter 3, Satan attempted separating Joshua the high priest from it, but the Bible says the LORD rebuked him and defined Joshua as a branch plugged from the fire.
THE ENEMY HAD CAPITALIZED ON HIS FILTHY GARMENTS AND WANTED TO UNDO HIS DESTINY.
But the LORD came through for him, took care of the filthy garments and gave him a righteous robe described as rich rope in place.
The enemy could not make God punish Joshua for his filthy garments. The perfect love of God for Joshua wiped that away. The LORD, instead of punishing Joshua, showed him love by doing the following things, described in scriptures:
Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”
And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So, they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.
Then the Angel of the Lord admonished Joshua, saying, Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, Then you shall also judge My house, And likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk Among these who stand here.
Zechariah 3:4-7 NKJV
From this scripture it’s clear that the LORD would rather redefine our walk and talk with Him instead of punishing us for putting on a filthy life, or garment.
He will not condone the filthy life but in this dispensation will not rush in to punish us either. He will rather seek our cooperation to have it removed, by commanding us to live right and warning us not to walk in ways we may have been walking before.
That is how God’s perfect love works. That is why it cast away fear.
THAT IS WHY WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT OUR YEAR SHALL INDEED BE FULL OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES.
All these goes to say more about God’s perfect love. It has an unconditional acceptance as part of it. Clearly, it does not depend on a perfect life. It depends on a perfect God who loves unconditionally and fights to salvage us from sin, Satan and the evil of this world.
In other words, it is not a love that is released because one has a perfect life. It is not a love conferred because you are perfect life. It is a love that is conferred despite one’s imperfections and flaws. It is conferred to walk us through and perfect us. It leaves a perfect life behind when it is through. That is why it remains the strongest Heaven making love on earth.
It removes both judgment and what attracts it. It is a love we must trust in to cast out all fear of judgment, consequences and penalties for what we may have done and are seeking God for mercies. We must understand the nature of this love and acknowledge that we are loved by the LORD regardless of our imperfections.
It is people who do so that are secured and taken from imperfection to perfection.
It is a love that loves us basically to take away the penalties and practices of our sins and give us a blessed life that is out of this world. It is not a love that condones any evil deed we do, but a love that is released to enable us to discontinue the evil deed, by taking care of its penalties or consequences and practices. It is a love with God’s everlasting mercy.
Talking about God’s mercy, understand that the mercy of the LORD has already helped us to see the first five days of the year. Now, let’s bring this to a close with some more truths on these things.
We are in a season of prayer as a people of God. So, these things would be of help. The number five reminds me of God’s grace and the fifth prophetic day of God – the day of trumpets. In the Old Testament there was a feast celebrated as the day of trumpet. It was a day of blowing trumpets. But today the day of trumpet is the day of the sound of the prophetic word.
One major thing that we get when the prophetic word sound is divine wisdom!
DIVINE WISDOM IS THE GREATEST NEED OF MANKIND.
The Bible says wisdom is the principal thing. In all your getting, get wisdom and get understanding. Prayer gets God working, but wisdom will prolong or elongate what He may have worked in our lives. That is why if you pray effectively, God will respond by giving you wisdom.
Prayer makes things happen in the invisible realm. However, wisdom let them happen in the natural realm.
If you pray effectively, it will make things happen. But without wisdom you will hinder what prayer has made happen in the spirit from happening in your life. That is why most prayerful people are less than dust and afflicted. They lack wisdom to allow the results of their prayers to speak in their lives!
It’s therefore important that you add divine wisdom as one of your pursuits this year! Divine wisdom will eliminate all that is not God’s will for your life, neutralize evil forces up against you and help you move things that have never moved in your life.
Divine wisdom will eliminate stagnancy and help you travel faster in life.
The greatest problem of mankind, therefore, is not their problems but lack of divine wisdom. You must understand the two aspects of divine wisdom. They govern the two shades of life effectively. That is why you would always find people of divine wisdom radiating the glory of their wisdom.
There are two shades of life: the spiritual and the natural – the subjective shade and the objective shade of life. There is divine wisdom for dealing with things objectively. That is the wisdom for handling practical problems. There is also divine wisdom for dealing with things subjectively.
THAT IS THE WISDOM FOR DEALING WITH SPIRITUAL PROBLEMS.
With practical wisdom from God, we deal with the natural objectively, and with spiritual wisdom from God we deal with the spiritual subjectively. I hope you understand me.
Since the spiritual is the birthplace of the natural, I want you to understand that the application of God’s wisdom in solving spiritual problem is one of the keys that will help you this year. Our devotional text today holds one of the most ancient wisdoms of God for dealing with spiritual problems.
A major highlight from the text says, “If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?”
Now we all know that the kingdom of Satan is not divided against itself. So when we look at the text therefore, we can conclude that “Satan cannot cast out Satan.” In dealing with spiritual problems therefore, we must understand this wisdom from the Ancient of Days Himself.
Make this year a year of walking in divine wisdom. Make it a year of walking in the divine wisdom of “Submission” to God’s will, God’s way, and God’s word. If you do, the blessing of the LORD that makes rich and adds no sorrow will cloth you.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURAL PASSAGE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY;
“Come now, and let us reason together, “Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Isaiah 1:18-20 NKJV
