THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (MONDAY 13TH July 2026)

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.”

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret — it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.”

“For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, but it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalms 37:7-11 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 194TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORIES!

God be glorified for giving us this day. We sleep and wake up because the LORD watches over us. The keeper of Isreal does not sleep nor slumber. He is watching over us. All our days are in His hands. Amen

Today is the second day of the week, we want to share some thoughts with us on patience. Patience is a virtue. The Bible dictionary describe it as an active, steadfast endurance of trials and a loving forgiving grace towards others. It reflects an unwavering trust in God’s promises, timing and goodness.

The early church was full of patience and the missionaries who went to foreign lands from their homelands to extend the saving grace of Jesus Christ to the lost and perishing were full of patience. They endured so many trials and still walked in loving forgiveness towards their persecutors. They never asked God to kill them the way the current church is doing.

The current church that we all belong to is different. It seems to be following the wrong gospel, because it does not encourage this kind of patience. It is full of so-called miracle working prophets with capacity to unlock supernatural forces that kills people who persecute them in one way or the other.

This supernatural force is not the Holy Spirit but a counterfeit of Him at work in their lives. The Bible describe this counterfeit as the spirit of Baal and Babylon, expressions of the mysteries of iniquity. We are having a second coming of the prophets of Baal today and they are doing their bid to destroy things that the early church established.

IT IS ONE OF THE HORRORS OF THE LAST DAYS AND WE MUST NOT ALLOW OURSELVES TO BE TRAPPED.

Instead of the gospel of patience with people who offend, we now have a fall-down-and-die gospel, an alien gospel to the kingdom of God, which is a major sign of a Christianity without Christ. A walk with God that lacks a loving forgiveness towards others, as God has been towards us, will never end anyone in Heaven. It will end all in hell.

Yes, there are wicked and unreasonable people in life today, who can be very dangerous, and we need to learn how to deal with them the Bible way not the hate way. The Bible did not say we ask that God kill them or retaliate them what they do to us. The Bible says we separate from them in love or peacefully ask them to leave our space like Abraham, did to Lot.

So, as you put wicked and unreasonable people away from your space instead of retaliating, you must also fight impatience towards those who hurt you and trust God to walk in love towards them and forgive their trespasses against you, especially when they ask for it. That is Christianity with Christ.

That is what will get you to Heaven and fill your life with God’s presence on earth.

Many in the present church have embraced the definition of patience that tells them to trust God’s promises, timing and goodness but rejected the part that tells them to walk in loving forgiveness towards others, because they are not truly saved and sanctified; they are unregenerated.

An unregenerated person is an unsaved person; he or she is naturally vindictive. He or she would want all who offend them punished even when they are asking for mercy. Only a saved and sanctified person can forgive or practice patience in God’s design. Only him or her can embrace all definitions of patience.

Friend, the Christian life cannot be lived without genuine sanctification of the Holy Spirit. It is His sanctification that makes one live a life that is full of the virtues of Christ. Patience, as in a loving forgiveness towards others, is a virtue of Christ, a child of the sanctification of the Holy Spirit.

THAT IS WHY THE BIBLE CALLS IT A FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT.

There is also patience as not giving in to difficult situation but holding on to what God has said. The Patience of Job, a patience that the Bible says we should emulate, took that dimension. He said to himself;

“If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my warfare would I wait, Till my release should come.” Job 14:14 AMP

This is the patience of Job. It holds great blessings for the believer. Apart from helping us to build a stable character, it also helps us to build a strong spirit in our walk with God, bringing us into life breakthroughs that would not have happened any other way.

A walk with God with this kind of patience will result in a life full of significant blessing. That was why Job ended with such blessings that is still being talked about today.

All the days of his warfare he waited, until his change came. He waited with the LORD not with empty things that lack the presence of the LORD, like many do today in Christless churches. He waited with the LORD and his change came. The change was described in these terms;

“Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

He also had seven sons and three daughters. And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.

In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. So Job died, old and full of days.” Job 42:12-17 NKJV

THIS SCRIPTURE REFLECTS THE KIND OF BLESSING YOU CAN WALK INTO IF YOU LEARN TO WALK WITH THE LORD IN THE PATIENCE OF JOB.

If the LORD allow you to go through a warfare and you remain steadfast, holding on to your integrity and serving Him in faithfulness, there will always be a material blessing at the end of that journey, among other beautiful things you will see. A major part of our devotional text says;

This text teaches what I can describe as the material blessing of patience. It helps one to inherit the earth like Job did. That is why we must wait on the LORD and not give up when things are not okay with us. We must always be patient and wait regardless of what might be happening.

Yes, people who walk with the LORD must learn to trust His promises, timing and goodness regardless of what they might be going through. They must allow God to do things in their lives in His time not their time. They must develop a trust in His goodness and nothing else, no matter what they may be going through.

They must believe that God is still good even in bad times. Amen!!

In conclusion, understand that patience can be a human character trait, and it can also be a fruit of the Spirit. In other words, it can be what one possess as a character or what the Spirit of the LORD develops in the believer over time. When we return tomorrow, we will continue with another truth on patience. Until then, stay strong and do not forget that Jesus is coming soon!!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!!

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4 NKJV
