TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 3RD May 2026)
“Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. He turned the sea into dry land; They went through the river on foot.
There we will rejoice in Him.
He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations; Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah”
Psalm 66:5-7 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 123RD DAY OF OUR YEAR OF STRATEGIC VICTORY.
There can be no strategic victory without walking or moving in God’s power. Victory is the fruit of conquest. You must fight and defeat the enemy to be called victorious. However, to be able to fight and defeat the enemy, you will need power, a power that is greater than the enemy’s or the enemy.
That is the power God has made available to us!! It is above every other power. Talking about it, Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18). The Bible further said, that at His name, all knees shall bow, of things in Heaven and of things on the earth, and all tongues shall confess that Jesus is LORD.
This Biblical order depicts how superseding this power is and how high it is above all other powers. The necessity of this power in our lives and on earth cannot be over emphasized.
The greatest advance of God’s kingdom has always been by the greatness of this power. If this power is not on earth, there will be no advance of God’s agenda on earth. If there is no power of God on earth, men and women who are under the yoke and blindness of the evil one, will not see something bigger than what he has been presenting to them.
I remember a story I read many years ago. That was precisely in the 1980s. There was this agent of the devil who got saved and was sharing his experiences with Satan who he knew then as Lucifer the great One.
He said before he got saved, he thought Satan was the Most High. He never knew there was a God somewhere. To him Satan was God. He saw his power, his magnificence, his glory and all he could do, and concluded that he was God. Whenever the word God, was mentioned all he saw was the magnificence of Satan.
HE SAID THERE WAS A TIME WHEN THEY ALL ASSEMBLED IN THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS FOR A MEETING.
All the human agents who projected themselves into the meeting flew into the meeting with great power and took their seats. There was such display of power by each agent that he thought there was no power greater than what they all had. He was full of confidence, and no one could make him afraid. He was rather a terror to others.
He saw the splendor of demonic power but never knew it was demonic. He saw amazing display of spiritual powers in that realm. That was all he knew as God’s power, since to him Satan was God. The peak of one of the meetings was when it was time for Satan, who he knew then as lucifer the great, to arrive at the venue of the meeting.
He said a ‘glory’ brighter than the Heavens or anything they had ever seen descended. He said the light was brighter than the light of the Sun. It came from a realm outside where they sat, and it filled the whole place with an amazing splendor.
Then Satan, known as Lucifer, descended, full of light and amazing splendor. He never knew him as a dark angel due to this manifestation. He never knew he was the ugliest thing in existence. He also said, until he got saved, he never knew about the scripture that tells us that Satan counterfeits as an angel of light, and that was what he was witnessing.
He said the light and the glory of this being was so bright that they all bowed to him, because he descended like the one who sat on the throne, flooding them with his light, power and splendor. That is the very light he gives his ministers spiritually, which makes them manifest as accurate prophets, miracle working apostles and all that.
He said the beauty and splendor of what he saw made him and others bow to him in worship and awe, calling him the Most High God. He said they will gather like that and invoke the spirits of men who preaches the gospel and kill them right there and after few hours the people will pass away in the natural world.
HE SAID THERE WAS NO HUMAN POWER AND GOVERNMENT THEY CANNOT SUBDUE OR CONTROL.
He was living with this understanding that Lucifer was the greatest, and that his agents were the most powerful beings on the face of the earth, until something dramatic happened in one of the meetings.
Since, they were good at invoking the spirits of any preacher who offends them into their meetings for execution, they decided to invoke that of one of the most effective bearers of sound doctrine then in Nigeria, for execution.
They all assembled as they had always done, and Lucifer was among them. They assembled to execute this man because virtually all agents had been complaining about his works. Then they invoked his spirit, but what happened was better imagined than experienced. He said a ball of light fell from no where and all devils, including Lucifer, fled.
He saw himself back home in his body, wounded and struck by the power of that ball of light. But that was not the problem, his problem was the dilemma he slipped into. He began to wonder why their Most High God fled like they did. That was when he began to wonder if there was another power higher than the one, he had known.
That contemplation was what finally brough him to the LORD. Our devotional text says:

If the man had not seen the works of the LORD right in the kingdom of darkness where they were meeting, if he had not beheld the works of the LORD, he would not have been saved today. The Bible says the Kingdom of God is not in words but in power. It is the outbreak of God’s power that settles every scores, tears away satanic veils, and snatches hearts from the power of Satan to God.
THE DECEPTION OF THE DEVIL WILL PREVAIL UNTIL THE DEMONSTRATION OF GOD’S POWER TAKES PLACE.
It is the demonstration of the Spirit and power of God, and the revelation of truth, that destroys Satan’s grip on the souls of men.
Yes, it is the outbreak of God’s power that helps the deceived and deluded to know that all the devils may have shown them is nothing. It is the outbreak or revelation of God’s power that makes God known to those who may have taken Satan to be God.
God wants us to walk in power so that He can used us to reveal Himself to those who sit in darkness. He wants us to walk in Power so that he can show the world that He is in charge and that He rules over the affairs of men. He wants us to walk in power so that He can make the rebellious to cease from exalting themselves.
He wants us to walk in power so that when our names are mentioned in the kingdom of darkness for anything, a ball of His power will drop among them, like a nuclear weapon, and scatter them in different directions.
The man of God that was mentioned that day was well known as a man of power. He does not use oil, water, salt, or the thalid to minister to people. He does not ask that people sow seeds to get miracles. He does not ask that people raise, break or silent altars. He does not sale holy water, miracle apples, miracle soaps, miracle stickers and miracle this or that.
He never walked in magic, like the ones we see today who sale all that to people. He walked in the miraculous, hence never sold anything to anyone. God wants us to walk in His power so that his kingdom can truly advance through us.
This man was so mightily used of God that one day we saw a hand grow after his prayer. Many have seen eyes appear in sockets where they were not after his prayer. Others have seen limps grow after his prayer. He was a man of integrity and holiness. He was, indeed, a child of God who walked in power.
The call of God this day is that we all become the same!!
